Definitely not Kent, Snoqualmie or Vashon. I remember driving around in Port Angeles a few years back and I recall that the marine weather on 1650 was coming from an Oregon station. Thanks to Bruce and Nigel. I remember Astoria for sure, in the past. 73, Walt On Saturday, September 10, 2016, Nigel Pimblett wrote: > As Bruce noted, there are a number of possibilities, but I've logged the > one in Vashon Island here (and at Don's place in Lamont), so that one > certainly gets out. Re: [IRCA] TIS on 1650
As Bruce noted, there are a number of possibilities, but I've logged the one in Vashon Island here (and at Don's place in Lamont), so that one certainly gets out. Can't recall offhand if marine weather is part of their programming. Have also heard Astoria, which definitely did have marine weather. 73, Nigel On 9/10/2016 9:29 PM, Walter Salmaniw wrote: I revamped my urban antenna farm today, and playing around on the X-band I can faintly make out Marine weather forecast on 1650 kHz, cohannel to other regular stations. Re: [IRCA] TIS on 1650
Walt I checked the FCC database. There are about a dozen TIS transmitters on 1650 in northwestern WA, including Kent, Snoqualmie, Neah Bay, Vashon, Redmond, etc. There's also a blanket license for WSDOT to operate temporary sites in 7 counties (basically anywhere between Tacoma and the Canadian border). So it would be hard to nail it down with the info you have.
