Not too interesting this morning, though it wasn't a complete washout on the
upper band. Lower band mostly peaked early

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

back to normal

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling with splash or noise):

747 JOIB 1401UT

774 JOUB 1358UT

972 HLCA 1411UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could
be understood by a native speaker:

594 JOAK 1456UT

828 JOBB 1402UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

567 JOIK //594 1403UT

873 JOGB man //774 1404UT

1557 man talking, Chinese perhaps 1435UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged
by splatter)

603  639 1566  seemed to be Asian;

576 585 612 1116 1098 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick

Not too much was strong today, even the Japanese big guns except for an early
and brief appearance by JOUB. The DUs were doing OK at least in the low band,
yet hints of Taiwan and China also.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least

not today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 4QR man in DU English 1441UT
774 JOUB English lessons 1418UT

567 JOIK woman in Japanese 1420UT, //594 although at this time, JOAK was
underneath 3WV
594 JOAK man in Japanese o/3WV 1422UT
828 JOBB lessons //774 1418UT
1566 HLAZ man in Chinese 1438UT
1575 VoA likely sounded like a SE Asian language by man 1440UT, better on north
Flag

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

594 3WV man talking //612 1449UT
603 woman and man talking, but sounded more islandish than Korean; NZ?
693 JOAB woman and man //774 1418UT
702 2BL man talking //612 1422UT
738 woman talking, Chinese intonation 1422UT; had expected Australia with

747 JOIB man talking //774 1426UT
756 man talking, DU English intonation 1431UT
891 JOHK music //594 1446-7UT
945 CNR1 perhaps; pretty mangled but sounded //6125, 1444UT; better on north

972 woman talking, maybe Korean? 1419UT
1593 CNR1 man talking //6125 1441UT

Mostly Japan, and mostly getting back to the regulars. One thing
unusual this morning was a reprise after 1600UT for 1287 and 1566,
weak audio, but audio nonetheless.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):

594 JOAK two women in Japanese, often stronger than 590 stations

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

747 JOIB woman in English //774 1431UT, how to serve sashimi with
wasabi and soy sauce. Mmm, could a Japanese breakfast be in my future?

774 JOUB man in Japanese 1452UT
1503 JOUK two women in Japanese 1447UT, //594

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:

567 JOIK woman in Japanese //594 1435UT
612 JOLK two women in Japanese //594 1440UT, man mumbling
accompaniment by 1446UT, 4QR?

1566 HLAZ likely man in Chinese 1440UT, never amounted to much this morning
1575 VoA man in SE Asian language, but also lively music from someone
else 1439UT; faint Yankee Doodle at 1500UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)

531 JOQG woman talking //594 slight delay 1429UT
558 HLQH laid back vocal music 1422UT, man talking 1424UT; seemed
//603 which was very weak

828 JOBB man talking //774 1430UT
972 man talking, possibly Korean, 1443UT
1386 NHK2 woman in Japanese //747 1442UT
1422 woman talking slowly 1445-6UT
1593 NHK2 woman talking //774 1430UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)

891 1242 1323 1539

best wishes,

Nick

Yesterday, my antenna broke; today, propagation broke.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):

uh uh

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

nope

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:

actually, HLAZ's Japanese program did manage this level, organ mx,
choral mx 1328UT, FEBC mention by woman 1336UT, and now and again up
through Japanese program s/off at 1345UT. Snippets of the CC program
showed up over the next 15 minutes or so at lower level

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)

972 man talking 1307UT
1044 hints of woman talking 1413UT.really reaching here, but
there wasn't much else

Strongish het, no or near imaginary audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)

Deader than ever this morning, if you discount apparent Tonga on late
on 1017. Unfortunately their website seems to have no stream on it
for radio, just some archived programs

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):

not even remotely today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

even this was too much to ask for

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:

612 4QR likely with man in DU EE 1233UT

1017 Tonga? choral mx, religious sounding? then woman talking
quietly in what sounded like an island language, mostly rather murky,
then more choral mx, 1434-1440UT; a reprise at 1456UT with man
talking, sounded like accented EE, but faded to barely readable by
hour, and no apparent change in talk at 1500UT. Carrier was quite strong

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music) :

738 Tahiti? Island choral mx 1408UT
1566 HLAZ assumed, woman talking 1441UT, but murky. Best on north Flag

Strongish het, no or near imaginaryaudio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter):

594 873 891 1242 1422 1512

best wishes,
