I remember waiting until 1 in the morning using my 1939 RCA 811K radio with an approx 400' LW antenna my first night AM DXing somewhere during the mid 70's, this was when KSL was a clear. I parked on 1160 and it faded up over about a 15 minute period until it was clear and audible. I ID'ed it and it slowly faded back down into the noise, this capped my first night, it was a thrill I never forgot. I have never been able to duplicate it since due to the other stations now on 1160, iBlock and just general noise. I am very dissapointed my first real DX station also now runs iBlock, it's a pity.
