[IslamCity] Will men in Paradise have intercourse with al-hoor aliyn?

Will men in Paradise have intercourse with al-hoor aliyn?

Question:

I'm wondering will the men from amongst the human race that enters paradise,
will they have sexual intercourse with the HOURIS women in the paradise .

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

Allaah has prepared for His believing slaves in Paradise that which no eye has
seen, no ear has heard and has never even crossed the minds of men, such that
even the person who has the least blessings in Paradise will think that he is
the most blessed among them. Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with
him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
The lowest of people in status in Paradise will be a man whose face Allaah
turns away from the Fire towards Paradise, and shows him a tree giving shade.
He will say, `O Lord, bring me closer to that tree so that I may be in its
shade… Then he will enter his house [in Paradise] and his two wives from among
al-hoor al-`iyn will come in and will say to him, `Praise be to Allaah who
brought you to life for us and brought us to life for you.' Then he will say,
`No one has been given what I have been given.' (Narrated by Muslim, no. 275)

Among the blessings that Allaah has prepared for His slaves are al-hoor
al-`iyn. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

So (it will be). And We shall marry them to Hoor (fair females) with wide
lovely eyes

[al-Dhukhaan 44:54]

They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry
them to Hoor (fair females) with wide lovely eyes

[al-Toor 52:20]

Al-hoor al-`iyn are extremely beautiful, such that the marrow of their shins
will be visible from beneath their garments. Every man who enters Paradise will
have two wives from among al-hoor al-`iyn. Allaah says, describing them
(interpretation of the meaning):

Therein (Gardens) will be KhayraatunHisaan [fair (wives) good and beautiful];

Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny?

Hoor (beautiful, fair females) guarded in pavilions;

Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny?

With whom no man or jinni has had Tamth [opening their hymens with sexual
intercourse] before them.

Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny?

Reclining on green cushions and rich beautiful mattresses.

[al-Rahmaan 55:70-76]

And (there will be) Hoor (fair females) with wide lovely eyes (as wives for
Al-Muttaqoon _ the pious).

Like unto preserved pearls

[al-Waaqi'ah 56:22-23]

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The first group will
enter Paradise looking like the moon on the night when it is full, and those
who follow them will be like the brightest shining star in the sky. Their
hearts will be as one, and there will be no hatred or jealousy among them. Each
man will have two wives from among al-hoor al-`iyn, the marrow of whose calves
can be seen from beneath the bone and flesh. (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, no.
3014)

It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I
heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say:
`Going out and coming back for the sake of Allaah is better than this world and
all that is in it. And a spot the size of the bow of one of you in Paradise _
or a spot the size of his whip _ is better than this world and all that is in
it. If a woman from among the people of Paradise were to look at the people of
this earth, she would light up all that is in between them and fill it with
fragrance. The veil on her head is better than this world and all that is in
it.' (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 2587)

A man will have intercourse in Paradise with his wives from among al-hoor
al-`iyn and his wives from among the people of this world, if they enter
Paradise with him. A man will be given the strength of a hundred men to eat,
drink, feel desire and have sexual intercourse. It was narrated from Anas (may
Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be
upon him) said: The believer in Paradise will be given such and such strength
for sexual intercourse. He was asked, O Messenger of Allaah, will he really
be able to do that? He said, He will be given the strength of one hundred
(men).

(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, no. 2459. He said, (it is) saheeh ghareeb).

It was narrated from Zayd ibn Arqam that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: A man among the people of Paradise will
be given the strength of a hundred men for eating, drinking, desire and sexual
intercourse. A man among the Jews said, `The one who eats or drinks needs to
excrete!' The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
said to him: `The excretion of any one of them will be in the form of sweat
which comes out

[IslamCity] Is there anyone in Paradise now?

2005-10-12 Thread Muhammad Abdul-Rahman
Is there anyone in Paradise now?

Question:

Is anyone in heaven right now (not prophets , angels etc) ? Or are we all
waiting for the `Day of Judgment' before entering heaven or hell I have heard
some references to people who have seen heaven or are in heaven now or went to
heaven and saw how it was Again, I am not including prophets and angels to this
list of people

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

Allaah has created Paradise and its creation is complete, because He says in a
hadeeth qudsi: I have prepared for My righteous slaves that which no eye has
seen… And because the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
saw it on the night of the Israa' and Mi'raaj, and because of other proofs
(daleel).

Will any humans enter it before the Day of Resurrection?

There are two aspects to this:

1. Entering it in spirit only, as is the case with the dead. This is proven in
the case of the Prophets, and of the martyrs (shuhadaa') whose souls are in the
crops of green birds which roam about in Paradise. This is also known from the
ahaadeeth in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
describes how he entered Paradise in dreams, which has to do with the soul or
spirit.

2. With regard to entering Paradise in both body and soul, this will happen on
the Day of Resurrection for both humans and jinn. The only exception to this is
Adam (peace be upon him) who was in Paradise before he came down to this earth,
as was mentioned by Ibn al-Qayyim and others. And Allaah knows best.

[IslamCity] When someone dies under the age of 40, will he go to Paradise?

2005-10-12 Thread Muhammad Abdul-Rahman
When someone dies under the age of 40, will he go to Paradise?

Question:

I have discovered something about Islam that I didnt know before. If somebody
dies before the age of 40 and was a righteous person let alone he was also a
polythiest, is there a chance of him going to paradise? I heard that one can be
forgiven of his unislamic faith if he/she dies before the age of responsibility
(40). For example, JFK jr
died at 38, if he was a humble man, would he likely enter paradise? I would
really appreciate a reply. Salam.

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

This idea is not correct at all. From the time that Islam emerged, with the
mission of the Seal of the Prophets, our Prophet Muhammad ibn `Abd-Allaah ibn
`Abd al-Muttalib al-Qurashi al-Haashimi, a Messenger to all of mankind and the
jinn, all other paths to Paradise were shut off, apart from his path, (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Whoever dies calling on any god besides
Allaah, whether it is an idol, an angel who is close to Allaah, a Prophet who
was sent, a rock, a tree, a grave, a jinn, a tomb of a saint, or any of the
members of the Prophet's household (Ahl al-Bayt), or anyone else, no matter
who it is _ if proof (of his misguidance) is established but he still persists,
he will be one of the people of Hell, there to dwell for eternity without end;
he will never enter Paradise at all.

There are the texts of the Qur'aan and Sunnah which explain this matter; these
texts and reports are mutawaatir [i.e., narrated by so many people from so many
people that it is inconceivable that such a great number of people could all
have agreed upon a lie]. Allaah tells us that He will not accept any religion
from anybody except the religion of Islam with which He sent Muhammad (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Allaah says (interpretation of the
meaning):

And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of
him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.

[Aal `Imraan 3:85]

This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon
you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion [al-Maa'idah 5:3]

Verily, Allaah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in
worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills; and
whoever sets up partners with Allaah in worship, he has indeed invented a
tremendous sin [al-Nisaa' 4:48]

Verily, Allaah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners (in worship) with
Him, but He forgives whom He wills, sins other than that, and whoever sets up
partners in worship with Allaah, has indeed strayed far away

[al-Nisaa' 4:116]

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: By the One in
Whose hand is my soul, no Jew or Christian will hear of me then not believe in
that with which I have been sent, but he will be one of the people of the
Fire.

Allaah has warned the Kuffaar of an eternity in Hell in a number of aayaat in
His Book. In Soorat al-Nisaa' He said (interpretation of the meaning):

Verily, those who disbelieve and did wrong; Allaah will not forgive them, nor
will He guide them to any way — Except the way of Hell, to dwell therein
forever; and this is ever easy for Allaah [al-Nisaa' 4:168-169].

And Allaah says in Soorat al-Ahzaab (interpretation of the meaning):

Verily, Allaah has cursed the disbelievers, and has prepared for them a
flaming Fire (Hell). Wherein they will abide for ever [al-Ahzaab 33:64-65]

And Allaah says in Soorat al-Jinn (interpretation of the meaning):

and whosoever disobeys Allaah and His Messenger, then verily, for him is the
fire of Hell, he shall dwell therein forever [al-Jinn 72:23]

And Allaah says, describing the state of the mushrikeen in Hell (interpretation
of the meaning):

Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allaah, then Allaah has
forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the
Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are no helpers [al-Maa'idah 5:72]

And Allaah sent His Messengers and revealed His Books with only one message:
that there is only One God (Tawheed) and that mankind should worship Him Alone,
with no partner or associate. This is obligatory on man: to believe in this in
word and thought and deed, for He is the Only One Who is deserving of worship.
This is what is referred to in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

That is because Allaah, He is the Truth, and that which they invoke besides
Him is Al-Baatil (falsehood, Satan and all other false deities) [Liqmaan
31:30].

The aayaat of the Qur'aan repeat and reinforce this message, for example
(interpretation of the meanings):

Worship Allaah and join none with Him (in worship) [al-Nisaa' 4:36]

And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allaah, and worship
none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him) [al-Bayyinah
98:5]

Say (O Muhammad): `I am only a man like

[IslamCity] The virtues of fasting in general and of Ramadan in particular

The virtues of fasting in general and of Ramadan in particular

There are many virtues of Ramadan and fasting expressed in the Qur'an and in
the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. If only one
of these virtues was told to us it would have been enough motivation to perfect
our fasting seeking that reward and the pleasure of Allah, but it is again from
the mercy of Allah that He taught us many virtues of fasting so that we get
encouraged even more. I will focus mainly on the virtues of forgiveness,
salvation from Hell fire and reward of Paradise, but before that I shall
mention few other virtues that are not less important than the latter.
A means to attain Taqwa
Allah says [meaning]: O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed for you
as it has been prescribed for people before you so that you will (learn how to)
attain Taqwa [al-Baqarah, 2:183]

Indeed the person who has attained Taqwa has attained excellence in the worship
of her Lord. In many Ayat of the Qur'an Allah says that the reward of the
people of Taqwa is Paradise. This topic of Taqwa shall be the subject of one of
the coming issues of Al-Mu'minah. We will just mention here two ayat in regard
of the success of the people of Taqwa and their reward with Paradise.

The people of Taqwa are the successful people in this life and in the hereafter
where they will be the dwellers of Paradise. Allah says [in meaning] : This is
the Book; in it is guidance sure without doubt to the Muttaqeen [people of
Taqwa]. Who believe in the Unseen are steadfast in prayer and spend out of what
We have provided for them. And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee and
sent before thy time and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter.
They are on (true) guidance from their Lord and it is these who are the
successful. (al-Baqarah 1:1-5)

He also says [meaning]: Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your Lord
and for a garden whose width is that (of the whole) of the heavens and of the
earth prepared for the Muttaqeen [people of Taqwa]. Those who spend (freely)
whether in prosperity or in adversity; who restrain anger and pardon (all) men;
for Allah loves those who do good. And those who having done something to be
ashamed of or wronged their own souls earnestly bring Allah to mind and ask for
forgiveness for their sins and who can forgive sins except Allah? And are never
obstinate in persisting knowingly in (the wrong) they have done. For such the
reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens with rivers flowing
underneath an eternal dwelling; how excellent a recompense for those who work
(and strive)!. [Aali `Imraan, 3:133-136]
A merciful recommendation from Allah
and fast, it is better for you, if only you knew [al-Baqarah, 2:184]

Indeed if Allah says that something is better of us, it is rally better for us
and we should strive to perfect it.
The practice of the Prophets
Ibn Abbas reported: The Prophet came to Madinah and found the Jews fasting the
day of Ashura. He asked them: Why are you fasting this day? They said: This
is a great day. Allah saved Mousa (Moses) and the tribes of Israel from their
enemies on this day and therefore Mousa fasted on it. The Prophet said: We
have more of a right to Mousa than you. So he fasted on that day also and
ordered the people to fast on that day. [al-Bukhari and Muslim].

`Abdullah Ibn `Amr said : The Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa salam
said : The fast most loved by Allah is the fast of Dawood and the most loved
prayer is the prayer of Dawood. He used to sleep half the night, pray for a
third of the night, and then sleep during the last sixth of the night. He would
also fast one day and then eat on the next. [Ahmad]

'Aisha reported that the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa salam, used
to fast till one would say that he would never stop fasting, and he would
abandon fasting till one would say that he would never fast. I never saw
Allah's Messenger fasting for a whole month except the month of Ramadan, and
did not see him fasting in any month more than in the month of Sha'ban.
[Bukhari]
A great reward for those who fast
Abu Huraira, radhiya Allahu `anh reported many Ahadith in this regard. We will
mention few of them as they carry the same meaning.

The Prophet said that your Lord said, Every (sinful) deed can be expiated; and
the fast is for Me, so I will give the reward for it; and the smell which comes
out of the mouth of a fasting person, is better in Allah's Sight than the smell
of musk. [Bukhari]

The Prophet said, Allah said: The Fast is for Me and I will give the reward
for it, as he (the one who observes the fast) leaves his sexual desire, food
and drink for My Sake. Fasting is a screen (from Hell) and there are two
pleasures (moments of happiness or joys) for a fasting person, one at the time
of breaking his fast, and the other at the time when he will meet his Lord. And

[IslamCity] Tahajjud The Night Prayer, Its Timings Number of Rakahs

Tahajjud — The Night Prayer, its Timings Number of Rak’ahs

http://www.ourdialogue.com/t2.htm#2

Question
Could you please give clear ideas about night prayer and its timings, maximum and minimum number of rak'ahs and the method of offering them.

Answer
Night worship, or 'Tahajjud', is a voluntary prayer which may be offered at any time during the night, after one has offered the obligatory prayer of Isha', and before offering dawn prayer, or Fajr. However, the latter part of the night is preferable for this prayer. It can be offered any night, and one may pray short or long rak'ahs, as one wishes. If he is praying in congregation, it is recommended to the imam to make sure that everyone in the congregation is willing to have long rak'ahs, before he starts. If one is offering night worship, or Tahajjud, he is recommended to finish it with Witr. The minimum number of rak'ah of Tahajjud are two, excluding Witr, and there is no maximum.

However, it is authentically reported that the maximum number of rak'ahs the Prophet offered on any one night was eleven, including Witr. It is suggested that the maximum he offered was thirteen. One may recite the Qur'an loudly or may read it privately in Tahajjud. It is preferable to recite loudly if he is alone or if he is in congregation, or if there are people near him who would like to listen to, or may benefit by his recitation. On the other had, if there is someone close to him who is doing his own night worship, or someone who is asleep and may be disturbed, then it is preferable to read the Qur'an privately.

[IslamCity] Ramadan - Taraweeh Rak'ahs

2005-10-12 Thread Alan Border

“Those who KNEEL before God should be able to STAND UP To Anyone. Will They.”
Taraweeh Rak'ahs
http://www.ourdialogue.com/t2.htm#2
Question
I have read in a book that in Ramadhan, the prayer known as taraweeh and the Tahajjud are one and the same thing. The author also says that the Prophet did not offer more than 11 rak'ahs of night worship on any night. How far is this true?
Answer
Taraweeh is a name given to night worship in Ramadhan. The name generally used for such worship is Tahajjud, which includes prayer and the recitation of the Qur'an. It is appropriate, then, to say that taraweeh is Tahajjud in Ramadhan.
It is authentically reported that Prophet did not offer on any night more than 11 or 13 rak'ahs. If we take the higher figure, we should remember that the Prophet started his night worship with two short rak'ahs. However, Lady Aisha explains that when the Prophet offered his night worship, he started with four rak'ahs. She says: "You need not ask about their length and perfection." He then offered another four rak'ahs and she uses the same _expression_ to describe them. He then offered three.
On the other hand, there is no restriction on the number of rak'ahs a person may offer in night worship. People in Madinah in the early days of Islam used to offer taraweeh in 36 rak'ahs, which meant that with Witr they prayed either 39 or 41 rak'ahs. What this boils down to is that one may offer night worship as one pleases. You may offer as many rak'ahs as you wish, and you may, if you like, offer a small number of rak'ahs and make them long. You may also offer only a few rak'ahs, even two if you wish, without making them long. It all depends on your choice and how you feel that night.

If anyone wants to debate tell them to show you the verse in Qur'an where ALLAH says that HE locks up Satan or that he stops Satan from working while Ramadan is in progress. Also another logic is that why wouldn't he (Satan) be locked up during the Hajj if he is locked up in Ramadan? That is just my question/

{And who is better in speech than he who [says: My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness), and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: I am one of the Muslims.} (Holy Quran-41:33)

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: By Allah, if Allah guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of camels. [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim]

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also said, Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all.

[IslamCity] Never Take A Lump in Your Breast For Granted!

2005-10-12 Thread COMMUNITY AWARENESS
There are few things more fearful and panic provoking than finding a lump or a
change in your breast. Your immediate thought will probably be of cancer.
Everyone reacts differently when this happens to her. Some will call their
doctor at once, others might be afraid of confirming their fears and delay
making an appointment.
It is only normal for you to feel upset and fearful if you find a lump in your
breast. But fear will not make the lump disappear. The earlier you find a lump
in its development and the smaller it is, the greater the chance it is curable
if it is cancer. Not all breast lumps are malignant. Only a doctor can
accurately diagnose if a breast lump is benign (not cancerous) or malignant
(cancerous). Do not try to diagnose it yourself.

BENIGN BREAST LUMPS

Breasts are made up of ducts, lobes, fibrous tissue, and underlying bone;
therefore, they can feel lumpy or uneven. Before your menstrual period begins,
and sometimes during your period, you can have some tenderness, pain, or lumps
in your breasts. This could be due to the extra fluid that collects in the
breast tissue (cyst) as well as changes in the body's hormonal levels. This is
normal. But if the lumps do not disappear before your next period, contact your
doctor as soon as possible.

Any noticeable change, thickening or localized swelling in your breast that was
not there before may be a lump. Eighty-five percent of all breast lumps found
are benign. Some common benign breast problems that appear as lumps are:

Cystic Disease (fibrocystic breast disease) is the most common cause of
breast lumps in women. These lumps or cysts are fluid-filled sacs that enlarge
and become tender and painful before the menstrual cycle. This condition is
responsible for at least half of all breast biopsies performed. It tends to
involve both breasts. These lumps are movable, and if large may feel round and
firm. Cystic disease usually disappears after menopause.

Lipomas develop as single, painless lumps. They can vary in size. Lipomas
consist of fatty tissue and are commonly found elsewhere in the body.

Fibroadenomas, single solid tumors, appear most often in young women. They
occur twice as often in African American women as in others. These breast lumps
are firm, rubbery, movable, often oval-shaped, and usually painless.

Papillomas are small, wart-like growths in the lining of a mammary duct near
the nipple. These can produce a bloody discharge of the nipple.

Injury to the breast, or trauma, may result in blood accumulation (hematoma)
or destruction of fatty tissue (fat necrosis). Both conditions can appear as
lumps. Sometimes the skin around these areas appears red or bruised. No
evidence exists that traumas can cause breast cancer.

There are other, not as common benign breast lumps caused by a variety of
breast problems such as sclerosing adenosis, etc.

[IslamCity] Quran explains Sunnah via Verses !

2005-10-12 Thread Aqsa *

Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem,
Assalaamualaikum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatahu,

Quranic verses explaining the importance of obedience to prophet Muhammad.

4:80 He who obeys the Apostle obeys Allah: but if any turn away We have not
sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds).

Narrated Abu Hurairah : Allâh’s Messenger said, All my followers will enter
Paradise except those who refuse. They said, O Allâh’s Messenger! Who will
refuse? He said, Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever
disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it). (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol.9,
Hadîth No.384).

Believing in the whole book is compulsory-Quran

3:7 He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: in it are verses basic or
fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book:
others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the
part thereof that is allegorical seeking discord and searching for its
hidden meanings but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah and those
who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: We believe in the Book; the whole
of it is from our Lord; and none will grasp the Message except men of
understanding.

And the details of 5 pillars of Islam and various practices are present in
hadith.

Instructing form quran and rehearsing .
--
Prophet Muhammad was given the responsibility to explain the Quranic verses
in detail,along with recitation,interpretation ,explanation.

2:129 Our Lord! send amongst them an Apostle of their own who shall
rehearse Thy Signs to them and instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom and
sanctify them; for Thou art the Exalted in Might the Wise.

2:148 To each is a goal to which Allah turns him; then strive together (as
in a race) toward all that is good. Wheresoever ye are Allah will bring you
together. For Allah hath power over all things.

2:151 A similar (favor have ye already received) in that We have sent among
you an Apostle of your own rehearsing to you Our signs and sanctifying you
and instructing you in Scripture and wisdom and in new Knowledge.

2:231 When ye divorce women and they fulfil the term of their (`Iddat)
either take them back on equitable terms or set them free on equitable
terms; but do not take them back to injure them or to take undue advantage;
if anyone does that He wrongs his own soul. Do not treat Allah's Signs as a
jest but solemnly rehearse Allah's favors on you and the fact that He sent
down to you the Book and Wisdom for your instruction. And fear Allah and
know that Allah is well acquainted with all things.

Following prophet Muhammad(salle ala hu alaihi wa sallam) is a must.
--
He followed Quran and practically applied it,this practical application of
Quran and his pattern of conduct is Quran and Sunnah

3:31 Say: If ye do love Allah follow me: Allah will love you and forgive
you your sins for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.

3:32 Say: Obey Allah and His Apostle; but if they turn back Allah loveth
not those who reject Faith.

3:164 Allah did confer a great favor on the believers when He sent among
them an Apostle from among themselves rehearsing unto them the Signs of
Allah sanctifying them and instructing them in Scripture and Wisdom while
before that they had been in manifest error.

4:13 Those are limits set by Allah: those who obey Allah and His Apostle
will be admitted to Gardens with rivers flowing beneath to abide therein
(for ever) and that will be the Supreme achievement.

4:13 Those are limits set by Allah: those who obey Allah and His Apostle
will be admitted to Gardens with rivers flowing beneath to abide therein
(for ever) and that will be the Supreme achievement.
14 But those who disobey Allah and His Apostle and transgress His limits
will be admitted to a fire to abide therein: and they shall have a
humiliating punishment.

4:42 On that day those who reject faith and disobey the Apostle will wish
that the earth were made one with them: but never will they hide a single
fact from Allah!

4:59 O ye who believe! obey Allah and obey the Apostle and those charged
with authority among you. If ye differ in anything among yourselves refer
it to Allah and His Apostle if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: that
is best and most suitable for final determination.

4:61 When it is said to them: Come to what Allah hath revealed and to the
Apostle: thou seest the Hypocrites avert their faces from thee in disgust.

4:64 We sent not an Apostle but to be obeyed in accordance with the will of
Allah. If they had only when they were unjust to themselves come unto thee
and asked Allah's forgiveness and the Apostle had asked forgiveness for them
they would have found Allah indeed Oft-Returning most Merciful.

4:65 But no by thy Lord they can have no (real) Faith

[IslamCity] Allah's promise to protect Quran includes the protection of Hadith as well.

2005-10-12 Thread Aqsa *

Assalaamualaikum wa rahmatuallahi wa baratuhu,

Allah's promise to protect Quran includes the protection of Hadith as well.

Assalaamuaalikum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatuhu,

The Qur'an

The Qur'an can be defined as follows:

The speech of Allah, sent down upon the last Prophet Muhammad, through the
Angel Gabriel, in its precise meaning and precise wording, transmitted to us
by numerous persons (tawatur), both verbally and in writing. Inimitable and
unique, protected by God from corruption.

Quran is also called as:
Furqaan -criterion, 25: 1Blessed is He Who sent down the Criterion to His
servant that it may be an admonition to all creatures
Tanzil -sent down, 26: 192Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the
Worlds:
Dhikr -reminder, 15: 9 We have without doubt sent down the Message; and We
will assuredly guard it (from corruption).
Kitab -scripture, 21:10 We have revealed for you (O men!) a book in which
is a Message for you: will ye not then understand?

Other references to the Qur'an are by such words as Nur (light), Huda
(guidance), Rahma (mercy), Majid (glorious), Mubarak (blessed), Bashir
(announcer), Nadhir (warner), etc.

The word Qur'an

The Arabic word 'qur'an' is derived from the root qara'a, which has various
meanings, such as to read, [Sura 17: 93.Or thou have a house adorned with
gold or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No we shall not even
believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could
read. Say: Glory to my Lord! am I aught but a man an apostle? ]

To recite, [Sura 75:18 But when We have promulgated it follow thou its
recital (as promulgated):

17: 46 And We put coverings over their hearts (and minds) lest they should
understand the Qur'an and deafness into their ears: when thou dost
commemorate thy Lord and Him alone in the Qur'an they turn on their backs
fleeing (from the Truth).] etc. Qur'an is a verbal noun and hence means the
'reading' or 'recitation'. As used in the Qur'an itself, the word refers to
the revelation from Allah in the broad sense .
[Sura 17: 82 We send down (stage by stage) in the Qur'an that which is a
healing and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing
but loss after loss.] and is not always restricted to the written form in
the shape of a book, as we have it before us today.

However, it means revelation to Muhammad only, while revelation to other
prophets has been referred to by different names (e.g. taurat, Injil, kitab,
etc.).

Surah An-Nisaa 4:113 But for the Grace of Allah to thee and His Mercy a
party of them would certainly have plotted to lead thee astray. But (in
fact) they will only lead their own souls astray and to thee they can do no
harm in the least. For Allah hath sent down to thee the Book and wisdom and
taught thee what thou knewest not (before); and great is the grace of Allah
unto thee.

Had not the Grace of Allâh and His Mercy been upon you (O Muhammad ), a
party of them would certainly have made a decision to mislead you, but (in
fact) they mislead none except their own selves, and no harm can they do to
you in the least. Allâh has sent down to you the Book (The Qur’ân), and
Al-Hikmah (Quranic laws, knowledge of legal and illegal things i.e. the
Prophet’s Sunnah - legal ways in detail), and taught you that which you knew
not. And Ever Great is the Grace of Allâh unto you (O Muhammad salle ala hu
alai hi wa sallim)

In the Above Ayaah by pairing al-Kitaab (the Book) and al-Hikmah (the
Wisdom) it has been pointed out that Hikmah which is the name of Sunnah
and/or teachings of Prophet Muhammad salle ala hu alai hi wa sallim was also
sent down by none but Allaah (SWT). The difference is that its words are not
from Allaah and that is why they are not part of Glorious Qur’aan. But, its
meanings and that of the Qur’aan are certainly from Allaah, therefore, it is
obligatory to act in accordance with both.Quran is wise book is already
mentined
2:1 Alif Lam Mim.
2 These are Verses of the Wise Book,

IT IS FOR ALLAH SUBHANAWATALA TO COLLECT IT .

75:16 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith.
17 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it:
18 But when We have promulgated it follow thou its recital (as promulgated):
19 Nay more it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear):

BOOK AND WISDOM IS QURAN AND HADITH COMES UNDER WISDOM.FOR HADITH HAS
EXPLANATION AND LAWS.
3:79 It is not (possible) that a man to whom is given the Book and Wisdom
and the prophetic office should say to people: Be ye my worshippers rather
than Allah's; on the contrary (he would say): Be ye worshippers of Him Who
is truly the Cherisher of all for ye have taught the Book and ye have
studied it earnestly.

ALLAH SUBHANAWATALA HAS TAKEN THE RESPONSIBILITY TO GUARD IT.
15:9 We have without doubt sent down the Message; and We will assuredly
guard it (from corruption).

The unbelievers call stories of men[also prophets] as fables [false
improbable account].This is their self confession

[IslamCity] Practical guide to Ramadan for Children

2005-10-12 Thread Maqsud Sobhani

Practical guide to Ramadan for Children
By Maqsud Sobhani (www.islamicminds.tk)

The blessed month of Ramadan is a gift from Allah for the Muslims to purify themselves from their all past sins and negligent actions. Various authentic hadith states that all our past sins are forgiven in this month. We also have the blessed Night of Power (Laylatul Qadr) to earn virtues of 1000 months during Ramadan. Much has been written about the virtues of this month and we all possess considerable knowledge as well.

I want to discus some pratical things we can do with our children. Far too often, when it comes to religious matters, we get very serious, especially with our children. We tend to separate religion from rest of our lives, forgetting that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) never taught us to have double life; one religious and one secular. Because how we portray religious affairs to our children, they often view complying with them more as punishment from parents than our duty toward Allah. I have seen parents making their children doing extra prayer or recitation of Quran as a form of punishment for something he/she may have done. No wonder so many children grow up viewing praying/reciting as punishment!

On the contrary, that was not how our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah upon him) was. He was a jolly person who often laughed and even made jokes, even with children!

Narrated Anas bin Malik (r), The Prophet (s) used to mix with us to the extent that he would say to a younger brother of mine (he had a bird called Umair), "O father of Umair! What did do the Nughair (a kind of bird)?" [Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 8, #150]
The hadith doesn’t sound “funny” if you do not know the background of the hadith. Anas bin Malik (r) himself was quite young and he is referring to a younger brother of his who had a bird called Umair. However Umair died and the younger brother would not stop crying. When the prophet came, he jokingly addressed the younger brother as “father of Umair” (or father of the bird!) and rhymed Nughair with Umair. Now, of course we are dealing with translation here, also what was said was at a different time and different geographical place. So the humor may be lost a bit in translation.

The fact, however remains, that our prophet had a sense of humor. So did his companions.

Narrated 'Uqba bin Al-Harith: I saw Abu Bakr carrying Al-Hasan and saying, "Let my father be sacrificed for you; you resemble the Prophet and not 'Ali," while 'Ali was laughing at this. [Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 5, 93]
There are many other Hadiths out there that shows the sense of humor, jolly nature of the Prophet of Allah and his companions and the love and compassion between them.

The Prophet also advised us to speak to people at their level. Therefore it is only normal that we should communicate with our children at their level. We should try to raise their interest about Islam and not try to shove it down their throat. Unless the children develop genuine interest in Islam, the long-term outlook is not good. How long can you really force them to pray or fast, if they do not develop any understanding or desire for those themselves?

Last year, while I was still in USA, we were trying to convince my then 8-year-old nephew to fast only half a day. We temped him with different things if he fasts for half a day, yet he wouldn’t fast! He had some fear inside about going without food for much of the day and he just wasn’t ready for it. We of course didn’t push him anymore to fast. This year things were different. Before Ramadan, he asked my mother to know when is Ramadan starting, and when my mother asked him, if he would fast, he said yes. For whatever reason he was just ready this time around. He has already fasted the first few days of Ramadan and ready to fast some more, Alhamdulillah! So instead of pushing our children to do something that they are not ready, it is always best to be a good role model for them to emulate. If we carry ourselves like the way we should as a good Muslim (I mean a good Muslim in the complete sense), then
rest assured that chances are your children will follow your footsteps sooner or later.

I want focus here on our children and how we can engage them during Ramadan, making things interesting, fun and joyous, even if they are not fasting. They need to understand Ramadan is not only abstaining from food (the adults need to understand it even more!) but there is much more about Ramadan.

The ideas below are not all my; some are mine, some I have modified; the original is from www.soundvision.com.
1. Hold a family meeting about Ramadan
A week before Ramadan, hold a family meeting to explain what Ramadan is, that the sighting of the moon indicates it’s beginning, what Muslims do and how the family's schedule will change. Also ask for suggestions of what everyone would like to do during the month. For instance, may be set up a specific goal for the month such as

A word on readingAli (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The (true) value of every person is weighed according to the good that he does.” Therefore the value of a scholar is based on his knowledge, on whether it is limited or vast, and on the degree to which he disseminates his knowledge. Similarly, the poet is appraised based on the quality of his poems. And so it goes for every person of every occupation: his worth with people is measured by his excellence in what he does. In terms not of occupation but of religion and life in general, everyone should strive to increase their value and worth by performing good deeds, by increasing their knowledge and level of wisdom, by cultivating
and polishing their mind, and by developing noble traits in their personality. Reading opens the mind, guides one to correct morals, and sharpens one’s ability to think. Reading is a comfort for the lonely, a stimulant for the thinker, and a lamp for the traveller. To not read makes one limited in one’s speech, thinking, and personality. Most books contain at least some benefit, whether it is in wise sayings, interesting stories, strange experiences, or new knowledge. It can even be said that the benefits of reading are beyond enumeration. And we seek refuge in Allah from one of the greatest calamities: to have weak determination and will power. Understanding the 'wicked' through the Holy Scriptures

My journey to Islam

Understanding the 'wicked' through the Holy Scriptures

By Waseema Hameed Qureshi
The 82-year-old Pope, John Paul II, who is in clear opposition of war on Iraq, in his address to thousands of pilgrims during a general weekly meeting in St Peter's Square, has called on Christian communities to keep up hope despite that the circumstances indicate as if "God was abandoning history into the hands of the wicked." While praying for an end to Iraq war he said, "Even if at times God may appear to be silent, this silence is but a prelude to his decisive intervention on behalf of the faithful." This statement elucidates even more, the bitterness demonstrated by millions of people around the globe, and it would be interesting to explore why this Christian Pontiff has felt the need to name his own faithful as "wicked."
Whereas the Holy Qur'aan declares the unbelievers as "Mukazabein" and "Mufsedein," meaning liars and evil-mongers respectively, the Biblical descriptions also define them in no less reviling terms. The Apostle Paul, in his address to the Romans in 3:10-18 cites: 'Just as it is written: "...There is no one that has any insight, there is no one that seeks for God. All have defected, all of them together have become worthless..." "Their throat is an opened grave, they have used deceit with their tongues." "Poison of asps is behind their lips." "And their mouth is full of cursing and bitter -_expression_." "Their feet are speedy to shed blood." "Ruin and misery are in their ways, and they have not known the way of peace." "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
Jihad is a taboo word in the Christian world today, despite the fact that Jesus lived his life like a soldier on the march. In Matthew; 10:34 Jesus warns: 'Do not think I came to put peace on earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword. For I came to cause divisions, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother...He that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me...and whosoever does not accept his torture stake and follow after me is not worthy of me"
Again Luke; 12:49-53 quotes: "I came to start a fire on the earth, and what more is there for me to wish if it has already been lighted?... Do you imagine I came to give peace on the earth? No, indeed I tell you but rather division..." It is absolutely true that religious beliefs have caused rifts amongst people all through the history of time.
The Muslim Jihad means struggle to follow the religion of God in personal life first and subsequently bring others to follow the Truth. God is firmly strict in not allowing any external pressure whatsoever, to interfere in the way of whole-hearted acceptance. To the extent that one is asked even to take a sword in the hand to finish off resistance against the implementation of the Law of the Almighty.
Even so, there is a code of practice to carry out Jihad and the Holy Scriptures unequivocally prohibit the use of force in religion or using Jihad as a pretext to murder people in the name of establishing Allah's System. Islam has very clear instructions about this saying that: 'Will thou then compel mankind, against their will, to believe!' (10:99). The Qur'aan draws people to accept the Law of God through understanding and commands: 'Let there be no compulsion in religion, Truth stands out clear from error...' (2:256)
The Qur'aan is not the only book that asks people to be fearless against the wrongdoers. Like all other Messengers of God, Jesus preached of this before Prophet Muhammad (Sall Allaho alaihe wasallam), saying: '...Do not fear those who kill the body and after this are not able to do anything more. But I will indicate to you whom to fear: Fear Him who after killing has authority to throw into Gehenna (Hell). (Luke; 12:4-5 10:28).
This message has been conveyed in the Holy Qur'aan again, saying: 'Those who have left their homes, and were driven out there from, and suffered harm in my cause and fought and were slain- verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath.' (3:195)
The aggressors against humanity - the hypocrites who join hands proclaiming to be liberators while enforcing occupation by merciless killing of populations and destruction of properties, are indeed correctly defined in the Bible as 'worthless'.
The Holy Qur'aan has added: '...Those who worshipped evil (Taghoot) - these are (many times) worse in rank, and far astray from the even path! ...Many of them dost thou see, racing each other in son and transgression and their eating of things forbidden. Evil indeed are the things that they do. Why do not the Rabbis and the doctors of law forbid them from

What is Prohibited and Disliked for the one Fasting

All praise be to Allaah for His blessings and kindness. And may the peace and blessings be upon our prophet Muhammad, his family, Companions, and those who follow his guidance and stick to his Sunnah until the Day of Judgement. To proceed:Know that there are certain manners to fasting that must be abided by and adhered to so that the fast could proceed in the way it was prescribed so that one could achieve its benefits, fulfill its objective and not find it discomforting and without benefit. This is as the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Perhaps all a person fasting derives from his fast is hunger and thirst.” So fasting is not just the abandonment of food and drink only. Rather, it also entails abandoning improper statements and actions that are forbidden or disliked. One of the Salaf once said: “The least form of fasting is leaving off food and drink.” This is since drawing near to Allaah by abandoning allowable things
cannot be complete unless after drawing nearer to Him by abandoning what Allaah has prohibited under every circumstance. Even though a Muslim is obligated to abandon the unlawful at all times, it is even more binding upon him while he is fasting. If one commits the unlawful in times other than when he is fasting, he is sinning and worthy of being punished. But if he commits it while fasting, then on top of being sinful and deserving of punishment, this affects his fast by it being either deficient or nullified. So the person who truly observes the fast is he who withholds his stomach from food and drink, refrains his limbs from sins, restricts his tongue from vile and evil speech, restrains his ears from listening to songs, musical instruments, backbiting and gossip, and holds back his eyes from looking at the forbidden. The Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whoever does not abandon false speech and acting upon it, then Allaah is not in
need of him abandoning his food and drink.” [Reported by Al-Bukhaaree] The person who is fasting must avoid backbiting, gossip and insulting others, based on what the two Shaikhs (Al-Bulkhaaree and Muslim) reported from Abu Hurairah (radyAllaahu ‘anhu) that he said, and it was raised as being a saying of the Prophet: “Fasting is armor. So if it is a day in which one of you is fasting, then he should not be vile in speech nor should he be sinful nor should he be ignorant. And if someone reviles him, then he should say: ‘I am a person that is fasting.’” The word junnah (armor) is that which protects the one who wears it from the weapon of his opponent causing harm to him. So fasting protects a person from falling into sins whose consequences are punishment in this world and the next. The word rafath in the hadeeth refers to lewd and immoral speech. Imaam Ahmad reported in marfoo’ form that the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)
said: “Verily, fasting is armor so long as it is not pierced.” It was said: “What causes it to be pierced?” He (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Lying and Backbiting.” This is proof that backbiting pierces the fast or makes a dent in it. When armor is pierced it is of no more use to the one wearing it. So in the same manner, when one’s fast is pierced, it is no longer any benefit to the one performing it. Backbiting is as the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) explained it, and that is mentioning about your brother what he hates. It has been reported in the Musnad of Imaam Ahmad that this breaks the fast: “Two women were once fasting during the lifetime of Allaah’s Messenger and they almost died of thirst. This was mentioned to the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) but he turned away from (allowing) them (to break the fast). Then they were mentioned to him again, so he called for them and ordered
them to vomit, i.e. throw up, what was in their stomachs. So they both vomited and filled up a bowl with puss, blood and pieces of flesh. Then the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘These two fasted by refraining from what Allaah made lawful for them. but they broke their fast by doing what Allaah made unlawful for them. One of them sat with the other and they began to eat from the flesh of people.’” What transpired with these two women in the presence of the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) from their vomiting vile and disgusting things – this was from the miracles that Allaah allowed to occur at the hand of His Messenger so that he could show the evil effects of backbiting to the people. Allaah says: “And do not backbite one another. Would one of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother?” [Surah Al-Hujuraat: 12] This hadeeth shows that backbiting breaks the fast. This is in the figurative sense,
meaning it nullifies the reward of fasting. May Allaah send His

WHAT IS ISLAM

Islam literally means Peace,
Surrender of one’s will; and to be in amity and concord. The significance of the
name Islam is the attainment of a life of perfect peace and eternal happiness
through complete surrender to the Will of God. The Qur’an – the Holy Book of the
Muslims – interprets it to be the religion whose teachings are in consonance
with human nature. Islam, as the Qur’an has stated (5:4), is the completion of
the religion inaugurated by God in the beginning of the world, on His sending
the Qur’an through the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace Blessings of God be
upon him). As a child is taught his alphabet, so God taught religion to the
world gradually and little by little, by sending His prophets at different times
and to different peoples. When the world reached the stage of
understanding that it was ready for the final lesson, He sent the last and
complete Book through the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace Blessings of God be
upon him). This Book not only corrects the errors which had found their way into
various religions, but preaches the truths which have not been preached before,
on account of special circumstances of the society or the early stage of its
development. At the same time it gathers together in itself the truths which
were contained in any Divine Revelation granted to any people for the guidance
of men (the Qur’an: 98:4). Lastly, it meets all the Spiritual and Moral
requirements of an ever advancing humanity. This is Islam which is
wrongly called Mohammedanism. According to Islam, the object of man’s life is
its complete enfoldment. Islam does not support the idea that man is born in
sin.It teaches that everyone has within himself the seed of perfect
development and it rests solely with a person himself to make or mar his
fortune. “We created man in the best make”, says the Holy Qur’an
(95:5)The cardinal doctrine of Islam is the Unity of Godhead.
There is none worthy of worship but the One and Only God, Allah, and Mohammad is
His Prophet. God is free from all defects, Holy and Transcendent. He is All
Good, All Mercy and All Power. He has no partner. He neither begets nor is He
begotten, because these are the traits of frail and weak humanity. Furthermore,
Islam helps us to establish a permanent relationship with God and to realise Him
during our earthly life as our Helper in all our affairs and undertakings. This
Unity of God is the first and foremost pillar of Islam and every belief hangs
upon it.
Islam requires belief in all the Prophets, including
Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Confucius and Zoroaster. We regard them
all (and many more not mentioned here) as heavenly teachers born to reform and
regenerate man and lead him to God.Adherents of some other
religions may consider it an act of piety to use disrespectful words and leap
abuse on the prophets of other religions, but if a Muslim were to show the
slightest disrespect towards the Founder of any other faith, he does so at the
cost of his own faith. He has to utter the respectful benediction Alaihis-salaam
(peace be on him) after mentioning the name of every prophets. Thus, Islam
establishes peace between all religions.

ISLAM – ETHICS AND
OBSERVANCES

The essential sources are:1.
Primary, the Holy Qur’an – the Word of God2.
Secondary, the teachings and practical examples of the Holy Prophet (Peace
Blessings of God be upon him), called Sunnah. The Holy Qur’an is composed of
114 chapters called Surahs. Out of these, 86 were revealed at Mecca and 28 were
revealed at Medina; it has a total of 6, 350 verses. The chapters were laid in
sequence by the Holy Prophet (s.a.w). This is the only Book which itself claims
to be the Word of God and the only Book stating that its text will be protected
by God Himself. It is universally agreed that each and every word of the Qur’an
is the same today as it was revealed to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w). It is the
uniqueness of the Qur’an alone that from the earliest times to the present;
thousands of people are available in every generation who memorize the whole
Book by heart. Its Arabic is perfect and even the best translations cannot match
the beauty, rhythm, and forcefulness of the original text. The second source
of Islam is Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Peace Blessings of God be upon
him). Islam is unique among religions by having a Kalima which signifies
professing the faith, which is:
« La Ilaaha Illallaho, Mohammad-ur-Rassool-Ullah
»« There is no God but Allah and Mohammad is His Messenger
»The main articles of faith
are:1. Belief in God (Allah), the
Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. He is One, Eternal, Infinite,
All-Knowing, Merciful, Almighty and Supreme; Indivisible in nature or person,
having no partners, no associates and no sons. He is given in the Holy Qur’an
over 103 names corresponding to His attributes and he governs human affairs
according to the parallel laws of Taqdir

Dear Br S. Hannan, Assalamu Alaikum

Ramadan Mubarak to you and all other Rufaqua of BD

Your arguments not to recognize Israel Stae are sound and are based on logic and bare facts that are visible even to naked eyes. But thekey pointto refuse the recognotionis missing that Israel is the illigitmate child of Birtish hypocracy. It was the result of Belfour award that was given to Wiseman in 1917. Second thing and that is most important is that Anglo-US-Russian hegemony conspired to create this land in the heart of muslim world, on Muslim land and gave recognition to a state that was establshed on Muslim land and they manipulated the world politics to give it "recognition". In fact, the State of Israel is being groomed, nurtured and protected by these vested interests as the "police state"of America in the heart of Muslim world. Further, the standing and continuation of theIsraeli State, must be sunderstood NOW in thelight of President Bush's Speech that hedelivered on October 10, 2005 in Washington. The continuation of Isreal State is in the interest ofUSA to perpetuate its game planof his so-called "War on Terrorism" which in pure and simple wordsit ishis war against Islam as a system of life.

Hence, no Muslim country worth its name, including Pakistan and BD shoul even think of recognizing Israel today or tomorrow. That is the end of it. Hope the people of BD will try to understand the game plan of Bush-Balair-Zionism andresolve as how to get rid of this "Yahudi Chakrant".

Should Bangladesh Recognize Israil ?

Shah Abdul Hannan*

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan, a few days back, met the Israeli Foreign Minister in Istanbul. This has brought to light that Pakistan was negotiating secretly with Israel for quite a long time. The major political parties and alliances of Pakistan, namely Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (Benzir Bhutto), Pakistan Muslim League (Newaz Sharif), Muttahida Majlis Amal (MMA) and ARD called a nation-wide strike in protest of the meeting by Pakistan?s Foreign Minister with Israeli Foreign Minister.. Press reports suggest that the strike was successfully observed. The opposition in Pakistan immediately after this meeting sat together and formed a committee to decide the future course in view of the action of the government.

In this backdrop, a few of our newspaper columnists have demanded that Bangladesh should recognize Israel. About two years back a section of the leaders of our business community demanded that Israel be recognized. The Chamber leaders raised the demand because at that time some US Congressmen demanded that the entry of Bangladeshi product in the US market be linked with Bangladesh recognition of Israel. The demand of the US Congressman alarmed a section of our businessmen. Being panicked they demanded that Israel be recognized. But they did not seriously ponder how Bangladesh-United States bilateral relations are linked with Bangladesh recognition of Israel?

Thereafter, about a year back, in an indoor meeting of a Think Tank that was attended by journalists, retired army officers, geo-strategic and security analysts in which this writer was present the issue of the Bangladesh recognition of Israel was discussed. A senior journalist present in the meeting tried to convince why Israel should be recognized. It became apparent that some other gentlemen present in the meeting supported his view. In another meeting, a few days back, this writer observed that Pakistan?s regotiation with Israel was discussed and two or three persons expressed their view in favor of Bangladesh recognition of Israel.

This makes it clear that a section of the elite of our society is in favor of Bangladesh recognition of Israel. To them it is not a matter of consideration that Israel is an illegitimate state that has violated many UN resolutions and occupied two-thirds of the Palestine land using force has occupied East Jerusalem that does not belong to them. If for argument sake we accept that Israel is the rightful owner of the land which UN mandate has given them in 1948 and should be under Israeli control, even then Israel should have vacated East Jerusalem long before. Israel has illegally established hundreds of settlements in West Bank Israel also established such settlements in Gaza that Israel vacated only recently. We have seen in the television screen their pain and anguish, as they had to leave Gaza which was not their land. This is nothing compared to the inhuman brutality the Palestinian had to suffer in their own land at the hands of the state of Israel.

People in our country who are supporting the recognition of Israel by Bangladesh, to them these are of no consequence, value and consideration. They ignore the fact that Israel is still denying

Rulings for Fasting that are Specific for Women

AUTHOR: Shaikh Saalih Al-Fawzaan
SOURCE: His book Tanbeehaat 'alaa Ahkaam takhtassu bil-Mu'minaat
(pg. 62-67)
PRODUCED BY:Al-Ibaanah.com

Fasting the month of Ramadaan is an obligation on every male and female
Muslim, and it is one of the pillars and great foundations of Islaam. Allaah
says: O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed
for those before you in order that you may attain Taqwaa. [Surah
Al-Baqarah: 183] The word kutiba (prescribed) here means furida
obligated. So when the young girl reaches the age in which she will be held
accountable for her actions, by having one of the signs of puberty become
apparent in her, among which is menstruation, then the obligation of fasting
begins for her. She could begin menstruating as early as when she is nine
years old. However, some young girls are not aware that they are required to
begin fasting at that point, so she doesn't fast thinking that she is too
young, nor do her parents order her to fast. This is a great negligence, for
one of the pillars of Islaam is being abandoned. If this occurs to any
woman, she is obligated to make up for the days of fasting that she
abandoned since the point when she began menstruating, even if a long time
has passed since that time, for it remains in her obligations.

Who is obligated to fast Ramadaan?

When the month of Ramadaan comes, every male and female Muslim that (1) has
reached the age of puberty, is (2) healthy and (3) a resident (i.e. not
traveling) is obligated to fast. And whoever is sick or traveling during the
month, may break the fast and make up the number of days missed on other
days. Allaah says: So whoever sights the (moon indicating the beginning of
the) month, then he must fast. And whoever is sick or on a journey, then (he
may break the fast and instead fast) the number of days missed on other
days. [Surah Al-Baqarah: 185] Likewise, whoever enters into Ramadaan and he
is very old and not able to fast or has a chronic illness, which does not
expect to be cured any specific time - whether male or female - may break
the fast and instead feed a needy person half a saa' (four handfuls) of the
food from that people's land for every day missed. Allaah says: And as for
those who can fast (but) with difficulty, they (may break their fast and)
feed a needy person. [Surah Al-Baqarah: 184] Ibn 'Abbaas (radyAllaahu
'anhu) said: This ayah is for the old man of whom it is not anticipated
that he will be cured. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree] And the sick person of whom it
is not hoped that he will be cured from his sickness falls under the ruling
of the old person. And he does not have to make up the missed days because
of his inability to fast.

A woman is specified with certain excuses that permit her to break the fast
in Ramadaan, on the condition that she makes up the days she missed fasting
due to these excuses on other days. These excuses are:

1. Menstrual and Postpartum Bleeding: A woman is forbidden from fasting
while she is in these two conditions. And she is obligated to make up these
missed days of fasting on other days. This is based on what is reported in
the two Saheeh collections from 'Aa'isha (radyAllaahu 'anhaa) who said: We
were ordered to make up the (missed) days of fasting but we were not ordered
to make up the (missed) prayers. She gave this answer when a woman asked
her: Why does a menstruating woman have to make up the (missed days of)
fasting and not have to make up the (missed) prayers? So she (radyAllaahu
'anhaa) clarified that this is from the matters dependent on revelation,
which must comply with the reported texts.

As for the wisdom behind that, then Shaikh-ul-Islaam Ibn Taimiyyah said in
Majmoo'-ul-Fataawaa (15/251): The blood that comes out of the woman
because of menstruation has a discharge of blood in it. A menstruating woman
can fast in times other than when the blood that comes out of her due to
menstruation contains her blood. So her fasting in this situation is a
moderate and balanced fast - no blood, which strengthens the body and which
is its main substance - comes out of her during these times. But her fasting
when she is menstruating necessitates that her blood come out during this
time - the blood, which is the main component of her body and which will
lead to a weakness and deficiency in her body. And this will necessitate
that her fast not be that of a moderate and balanced nature. So that is why
she is commanded to fast in times when she is not menstruating.

2. Pregnancy and Breast-Feeding: If because of fasting there is harm caused
to the woman or the baby or to both of them, then she may break the fast
while she is pregnant or breastfeeding. But if the harm for which reason she
is breaking her fast only applies to her baby and not her, then she must
make up for the days she missed

[IslamCity] Prophet's sayings-Reward of charity

Reward of charity

Narrated Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him): Allah s
Apostle (peace be upon him) said, Whoever gives two kinds (of things or
property) in charity for Allah s Cause, will be called from the gates of
Paradise and will be addressed: O slaves of Allah! Here is prosperity. So,
whoever was amongst the people who used to offer their prayers, will be called
from the gate of the prayer; and whoever was amongst the people who used to
participate in Jihad, will be called from the gate of Jihad; and whoever was
amongst those who used to observe fasts, will be called from the gate of
Ar-Raiyan; whoever was amongst those who used to give in charity, will be called
from the gate of charity. Abu Bakr said, Let my parents be sacrificed for your
sake, O Allah s Apostle! No distress or need will befall him who will be called
from those gates. Will there be any one who will be called from all these gates?
The Prophet replied, Yes, and I hope you will be one of them.

[IslamCity] The Quran: Reading vs. Experiencing

The Quran: Reading
vs. Experiencing

The
Quran was not only meant to be read, but also to be experienced

By: Yahya Abdul Rahman

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

http://www.ymlp.com/pubarchive_show_message_iframe.php?montrealmuslimnews+5324

October 7, 2005: During
the month of Ramadan Muslims all over the world will gather at their local
places of worship to offer a special kind of prayer after the Ishaa prayer
(night prayer) referred to as Taraweeh. Although this prayer is not obligatory,
it was a confirmed practice of the prophet Muhammad. He prayed Taraweeh in
congregation with his companions for many nights, then he stopped doing that
lest it be made obligatory upon the Muslims. Then when the Prophet died and the
revelation came to an end, this concern was no longer an issue, because it
could not be made obligatory after the death of the Prophet. So Umar bin
Khattab gathered the Muslims to pray Taraweeh in congregation.

Although it is not a
necessity, many Mosques set a goal of trying to recite the entire Quran during
the month while performing the Taraweeh prayers. In order to achieve this,
however, it is necessary for the one reciting to increase the pace of his
recitation otherwise he will not finish the Quran or the prayer would be exceedingly
long.

Sadly, in the rush to
finish the Quran on time, many pronunciation mistakes are made and the
listeners are unable to fully absorb its message which this sacred book is
seeking to convey. Yes, in Islam it is considered a great virtue to read the
Quran and for each letter read there is a reward from God, but it seems Muslims
mechanically do this as fast as they can in order to gain more rewards. In
doing so, however, they are not fully appreciating or understanding its
important message.

To be more fully
understood, the Quran must be read at a slow and even pace with each letter
being distinctly pronounced so that the reader and listeners can comprehend its
message and that it reaches the recesses of the heart. Rushing through the
Quran in a seemingly blind exercise and not slowing down and experiencing the
moment is, in my opinion, missing the point of the whole exercise in the first
place. We are merely performing rituals out of habit but not properly seeking
that which the ritual is supposed to do for us. The soul that hungers after God
wants much more than just the blind performance of rituals. These rituals are
not an end in themselves, but a means to an end.

In order for the Quran to
be more fully appreciated and understood it is not enough to read its words,
one must also experience this sacred book. I read a saying one time which is so
true:

If you want to talk
to God then offer up a prayer but if you want God to talk to you then read the
Quran.

When we come to a full
understanding - and I am not just talking about an intellectual understanding
here- that the Quran is the words of God and that it is His way of talking
directly to us, will we still want to rush through it in a blind exercise or
will we want to slow down and read its sacred words so that we may know what
message is being given to us and implement it in our lives?

I would hope that those
leading us in prayer would come to the realization that it would be better to
read only 1/3 of the Quran or even less during Taraweeh prayers, but doing so
in a slow an even method, so that the listeners can absorb its message, instead
of participating in a race against time.

In short, the Quran was
not only meant to be read, but also to be experienced. God is speaking through
his sacred book, let's slow down and
listen to what He has to say.

The people of Hell will abide therein forever

Question:

Will the torment of the people of Hell in Hell be neverending, or will there come a time when it will end?.

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

The people of Hell will remain in Hell being tormented without end. This is indicated by a great deal of evidence from the Qur'aan and Sunnah.

Shaykh Ibn `Uthaymeen was asked: Is Hell eternal or will it come to an end?

He replied:

What is definite is that it is eternal, and no other view is known among the salaf. Hence the scholars made this one of their tenets of faith, so that we believe that Hell is eternal and will last forever. This is a matter concerning which there is no doubt, because Allaah has mentioned the eternal nature of Hell in three places in the Qur'aan:

1 _ In Soorat al-Nisa, where He says (interpretation of the meaning):

"Verily, those who disbelieve and did wrong [by concealing the truth about Prophet Muhammad and his message of true Islamic Monotheism written in the Tawraatt (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) with them]; Allaah will not forgive them, nor will He guide them to any way.

Except the way of Hell, to dwell therein forever" [al-Nisa' 4:168-169]

2 _ In Soorat al-Ahzaab, where He says (interpretation of the meaning):

"Verily, Allaah has cursed the disbelievers, and has prepared for them a flaming Fire (Hell)

Wherein they will abide for ever"

[al-Ahzaab 33:64]

3 _ In Soorat al-Jinn, where He says (interpretation of the meaning):

"and whosoever disobeys Allaah and His Messenger, then verily, for him is the fire of Hell, he shall dwell therein forever"

[al-Jinn 72:23]

If Allaah had mentioned the eternal nature of Hell in one place, that would have been sufficient, so how about if He has mentioned it in three places? It is strange that a group of scholars are of the view that Hell will cease to exist, based on false arguments which go against what is indicated by the Qur'aan and Sunnah, and they misinterpreted the meanings of the Qur'aan and Sunnah and said that the words "dwell therein forever" mean for as long as it exists.

How can this be correct? If they are to dwell therein forever, that means that Hell itself must last forever, as they will be in it. If a person is to dwell in some place forever, then the place where he will be must last forever as well, because if that place will cease to exist then he cannot dwell forever. The verse is very clear, and the arguments which go against the text are to be rejected.

This difference of opinion which was narrated from a few scholars is to be rejected, because it goes against the clear text which every believer must believe in. Whoever goes against it because of some argument that he comes up with may be excused before Allaah. But whoever studies the texts of the Qur'aan and Sunnah will know that the view that Hell will last forever is the truth which cannot be ignored.

Majmoo' Fataawa Ibn `Uthaymeen, 2/55-56

It says in Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa'imah:

There is a great deal of evidence in the Qur'aan and Sunnah to show that Hell will never cease to exist, and that the kaafireen will abide in Hell forever and will never come out of it. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"This, because you took the Revelations of Allaah (this Qur'aan) in mockery, and the life of the world deceived you. So this Day, they shall not be taken out from there (Hell), nor shall they be returned to the worldly life (so that they repent to Allaah, and beg His Pardon for their sins)"

[al-Jaathiyah 45:35]

"Surely, those who disbelieved in Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), We shall burn them in Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for other skins that they may taste the punishment"

[al-Nisa' 4:56]

"but he whom He sends astray, for such you will find no Awliyaa' (helpers and protectors) besides Him, and We shall gather them together on the Day of Resurrection on their faces, blind, dumb and deaf; their abode will be Hell; whenever it abates, We shall increase for them the fierceness of the Fire.

That is their recompense, because they denied Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and said: "When we are bones and fragments, shall we really be raised up as a

Wa alaykum as-Salam,

THere are many questions like this which have to be answered. When I lived in Saudi Arabia, I discovered somethings, some other things I learned by asking and still other things I could not get answers to.

Eventhough, officially, the Saudi society is governed by the Hanbali law, the lawyers who are currently responsible for implementing the law also do their own IJTEHAD. And they a re known to change things in view of new findings and new thinking in the Ummah.

I think this is in view of those changes. And also, the Hanafee way of doing the TARAWEEH is much more popular in the rest of the Muslim world - such as in INdia and Pakistan.

Thank you.

Number of rak’ahs of qiyaam
The number of rak’ahs is eleven, and it is preferable in our opinion not to exceed this number, following the practice of the Messenger of Allaah (Sal) because he never did more than that in his life. ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) was asked about how he prayed in Ramadaan. She said, "The Messenger of Allaah never prayed more than eleven rak’ahs (of qiyaam), whether during Ramadaan or any other time. He would pray four, and don’t ask me how beautiful or how long they were. Then he would pray four, and don’t ask me how beautiful or how long they were. Then he would pray three." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, Muslim and others).
Women can pray qiyaam in congregation
Women can attend the prayers too, as is stated in the hadeeth of Abu Dharr referred to above. Indeed, it is permissible to appoint an imaam just for them, apart from the imaam of the men. It was proven that when ‘Umar (Ral) gathered the people to pray qiyaam, he appointed Ubayy ibn Ka’b to lead the men and Sulaymaan ibn Abi Hathmah to lead the women. ‘Arfajah al-Thaqafi said: " ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (Ral) used to command the people to pray during the night in Ramadaan, and he would appoint an imaam for the men and an imaam for the women. I was the imaam for the women."
I say: this is fine in my view so long as the mosque is big enough so that they will not disturb one another.
However, is a person is praying qiyaam by himself, he can make it as long as he wishes;
if others agree with the imaam, he may also make it as long as he wishes.
The longer it is, the better,
but a person should not go to extremes and spend the whole night in qiyaam, except on rare occasions, following the example of the Prophet (Sal) who said: "The best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad." If a person is praying as an imaam, he should make it only as long as is easy for the people behind him, because the Prophet (Sal) said: "If any of you leads the people in prayer, let him make it short, because among them are the young and the old, the weak, and those who have pressing needs. But if he is praying alone, let him make it as long as he likes."abdeen

Taraweeh Salaat
In this belated day and age, every morn heralds a new fitna that strikes at the very root of Imaan and amal. For the past fourteen hundred years, the Ummah has been performing twenty rakaats of Taraweeh without question. However “a sect” now claims that Taraweeh is ONLY eight rakaats, which implies that for fourteen hundred years the Ummah had deviated from the Sunnah of Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and had performed twenty rakaats without any Shari proof.
The Virtue of Taraweeh
Abdullah Bin Ammar (R.A.) states that Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: “The fast and the Quraan will both plead on behalf of the bondsmen who keeps fast in the day and recites or listens attentively to the recitation of the Quraan at night standing in the presence of Allah (in Taraweeh). The fast will say “O my Lord, I had held him back from food, drink and sexual gratification, accept my intercession for him today and treat him with mercy and forgiveness. The Quraan will say, “ I had held him back from taking rest and sleep at night, O MY lord, accept my intercession for him today and treat him with mercy and forgiveness”.
