[IslamCity] You want to know Who were Behind 911?/Uncovering the Secrets of 9/11Courtesy:http://www.threeworldwars.com/911/

2006-01-17 Thread Abdul Wahid Osman Belal

  Uncovering the Secrets of 911  We will never uncover exactly what happened on September 11, 2001, the courageous efforts of misguided researchers notwithstanding. The extent of the cover-up extends across geographic borders, across multi-national corporations and across international government departments. The obfuscation is huge, with no let-up in sight. Many researchers are unwittingly aiding the battle.  Your best bet? Accept that 9/11 was an inside job - period.   The purpose?   To enable the rapid introduction of police state laws under the guise of "The War on Terror";
To start a mass program of propaganda against Muslims and the Arab World, in preparation for the coming war between political Zionists and the Islamic World, as predicted by Albert Pike. "We have found solid scientific grounds on which to question the interpretation put upon the events of September 11, 2001 by the Office of the President of the United States of America and subsequently propagated by the major media of western nations. Our analysis of the detailed evidence implies a staged attack employing a variety of deceptive arrangements. Indeed, every element of the September 11 attacks, including cellphone calls from fast-moving aircraft, has an alternate means of creation." - Statement by S.P.I.N.E. : The Scientific Panel Investigating
Nine-Eleven. Will Bush, like Wilson in WWI, and FDR in WWII, go all the way and deliver WWIII to those who engineer wars for their profit? It certainly seems that way so far. Missing Trillions On September 10, 2001, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld held a press conference to disclose that over $2 TRILLION in Pentagon funds could not be accounted for. Rumsfeld stated: "According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions." Such a disclosure normally would have sparked a huge scandal. However, the commencement of the attack on New York City and Washington in the morning would assure that the story remained buried. To the trillions already missing from the coffers, an obedient Congress terrorized by anthrax attacks would add billions more in appropriations to fight the War on Terror. See more details of the missing trillions. Recommended Independent 911 Sources There is only one independent source I recommend, who have kept their head firmly in place without being swayed by the noise of 9/11. This site is the only one to acknowledge that the efforts of 'conspiracy researchers' have in fact aided the efforts of the powers behind 9/11. This site has even gone so far as to list all the sites responsible for the spread of disinformation. You'll be surprised to see what you thought were reliable independent media listed there. You must visit The CIA Internet Fakes before reading anything more about 9/11. Other 9/11 Sources Complete 9/11 Timeline: Covering a period from 1979
to today, this site represents the most complete analysis of prior knowledge surrounding the fateful day on 9/11. Reopen 911: An excellent audio visual site, including a free DVD entitled "Confronting the Evidence". independent.com: An interview with David Ray Griffin, a philosopher of religion at the Claremont School of Theology in Santa Barbara, CA, who recently wrote a book called The New Pearl Harbor. This interview is one of the most concise discussions of the problems with the official 9/11 story. It starts at the top with the question of why the hijacked planes weren't intercepted, and why the FAA didn't notify military authorities quicker. It covers the controlled-demolition-style collapse of the Twin Towers, the nonexistent plane at the Pentagon, and the debris strewn for miles in
Pennsylvania after the plane "crashed". This interview is simply a concise look at serious questions and compelling arguments that many people are currently asking, and which will not be covered by the 911 Commission. [IslamCity] Hope Frustration, For Muslim YOUTH

2006-01-17 Thread hussa1

Towards agenda of hope
toMuslim Youth

Bismillah HerREHMAN
NirRAHEEM

What is hope what
is frustration ?Confronted with a situation
so complex, any action seemsTo have
no effects or negative effects, youth ,who
are by nature Impatient . They loose
hope easily, on long range solutions ,thus
become prey to the frustration.FrustrationIs
from the shaitan, hope is from
Allah.Frustration leads to inappropriate action;
some times destructive action.How to
build hopeful agenda ?It is not
easy,requires the thinking process of
,not one organization;multiple
resources,intra-organisation planning stategy
sessions.The elders have to
demonstrate,unification on strategy,not mere
appeals, emotional outburst rethorical
excellence.

They key before showing
positive agenda,establishing communication is very
necessary.In the following,we are submitting,my
humble suggestions.THE CORE POINT BEING
APPOINTMENT OF YOUTH SUPERVISOR,PREFERABLY WITH
A “ MANAGEMENT GRADE SALARY “
IN EVERY MOSQUE ORGANISATION.

FOR YOUTH SUPERVISER,it is
nessarory he should be very good
listner.NO matter how ridiculous ,donot cut
the ,the conversation.Win the hearts;not
by winning the argument;power of persuation is
the best strategy,not the use
of power of position or authority.Let
suggestion come from the youth. Here are
few points, by no means comprehensive.
Require feield testing[ see how the
youth ract][1]Start asking youth to
analyse the international situation[2]
However it seem reduculous, listen,donot
cut short.Let the irrationality, come
out from them, by asking sympathetic
purtinent questions.[3] Ask to come
up AGEDA OF HOPE ACTION,RIGHT IN
THE MOSQUE THEY BELONG TO RIGT IN
THE ORGANISATION ,THEY OR THEIR FAMILY
HAS INFLUENCE, OR AT LEAST BELONG
TO.[4] PL. DONOT GET TRAPPED, IN
THE SOLUTION, WHEN THEY FINISH STUDIES,
ETC ETC.Ask to get involved, right
from that week day.[5] Encourage,

[IslamCity] Prayers - Missed by Mistake

2006-01-17 Thread Alan Border

Prayers: Missed by Mistakehttp://www.ourdialogue.com/p29.htm#2Question A woman started having a blood discharge and thought it was menses, which was totally unexpected. She stopped offering prayers. Subsequently it was confirmed that the discharge was not from menstruation. Therefore, she took a bath and continued with her normal prayers. What does she do about the prayers she had missed?Answer The Prophet has told us very clearly that Allah, out of His grace does not question about what we do as a result of a genuine mistake, out of forgetfulness or by compulsion. This lady has missed prayers through
a genuine mistake. She had a discharge which she thought to be of the type which would require her not to pray. She acted on that until she realized she was mistaken. Hence, she is not accountable for missing those prayers. However, those prayers which were obligatory to her, she would have normally offered them. They remained outstanding. She should have offered them immediately after taking her bath. Now that they remain outstanding, she should offer them as soon as possible. She should also pray Allah to forgive her for this delay. Although it is not
intended, still we need to ask Allah's forgiveness for any omission or mistake we do. Moreover, we are always in need of Allah's forgiveness. He certainly grants it to anyone who asks for it sincerely and with a genuine resolve to abide by Allah's laws. Nevertheless, human beings are liable to be in error at every juncture. Hence, praying for Allah's forgiveness is strongly recommended at all times.Islam in Perspective

even come up with a UNITED

 How to convene their

PLANNERS of Muslim Umma of North
America. They seem to be arbitreary, I
dare anyway !First let us
reflect what is so unique of it[
the Muslim Umma of North America ?Unlike
the Muslim Umma of so called Muslim countries,
there is no government, which is
responsible, is for planning. This is
a disadvantage, as well as,big advatage.
Since most govt.s are stooges of Ameican
neocolonialism, its hidden arms of
International Montary Fund,the World
Order,various manuplation of Globalisation,
the Muslim Umma has has great
distrust disdain for most govt.al

[IslamCity] SAHABA E RASOOL S.A.W. - HAZRAT HAKIM IBN HAZM R.A.

2006-01-17 Thread Saba Khan
HAKIM IBN HAZM
History has recorded that he is the only person who
was born inside the Ka'bah itself.
Together with a group of friends, his mother had gone
inside this ancient House of God to inspect it. On
that particular day it was open because of a festive
occasion. She was pregnant and labor pains suddenly
gripped her. She was unable to leave the Ka'bah. A
leather mat was brought to her and she gave birth on
it. The child was named Hakim. His father was Hazm who
was the son of Khuwaylid. Hakim was therefore the
nephew of the Lady Khadijah, the daughter of
Khuwaylid. may Allah be pleased with her.
Hakim grew up in a wealthy and noble family which
enjoyed a high status in Makkan society. He was also
an intelligent and well-mannered person who was well
respected by his people. He was held in such esteem
that he was given the responsibility of the rifadah
which involved giving assistance to the needy and
those who had lost their property during the season of
pilgrimage. He took this responsibility seriously and
would even help needy pilgrims from his own resources.

Hakim was a very close friend of the Prophet, peace be
on him, before the latter's call to prophethood. Even
though he was five years older than the Prophet, he
used to spend much time talking to him and enjoying
hours of pleasant companionship. Muhammad in his turn
felt great affection for Hakim.
Their relationship was further strengthened when the
Prophet married his aunt, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid.
What is truly amazing is that in spite of the close
friendship between Hakim and the Prophet, Hakim did
not become a Muslim until the conquest of Makkah, more
than twenty years after the start of the Prophet's
mission. One would have thought that someone like
Hakim whom God had blessed with a sound intellect and
who was so well-disposed to the Prophet, would have
been among the first to believe in him and follow the
guidance he brought. But that was not to be.
Just as we are astonished at the late acceptance of
Islam on the part of Hakim, he himself later in life
was also amazed. In fact, as soon as he accepted Islam
and tasted the sweetness of iman (faith), he began to
feel deep regret for every moment of his life as a
mushrik and a denier of God's religion and of His
Prophet.
His son once saw him weeping after his acceptance of
Islam and asked: Why are you weeping, my father'?
Many things cause me to weep, my dear son. The most
grievous is the length of time it took for me to
become a Muslim. Acceptance of Islam would have given
me so many opportunities to do good which I missed
even if I were to have spent the earth in gold. My
life was spared at the battle of Badr and also at the
battle of Uhud. After Uhud. I said to myself. I would
not help any Quraysh against Muhammad, may the peace
and blessings of God be upon him, and I would not
leave Makkah. Then, whenever I felt like accepting
Islam I would look at other men among the Quraysh. men
of power and maturity who remained firmly attached to
the ideas and practices of Jahiliyyah and I would fall
in line with them and their neighbors... Oh, how I
wish I had not done so. Nothing has destroyed us
except the blind following of our forefathers and
elders. Why should I not weep, my son?
The Prophet himself was puzzled. A man of sagacity and
understanding like Hakim ibn Hazm, how could Islam
remain hidden from him?. For a long time, the
Prophet had dearly hoped that he and a group of
persons like him would take the initiative and become
Muslims. On the night before the liberation of Makkah,
he, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to his
companions:
There are four persons in Makkah whom I consider to
be above having any dealing with shirk and I would
dearly like them to accept Islam. Who are they, O
Messenger of God? asked the companions. Attab ibn
Usayd, Jubayr ibn Mutim, Hakim ibn Hazm and Suhayl ibn
Amr, replied the Prophet. By the grace of God, they
all became Muslims.
When the Prophet, peace be on him, entered Makkah to
liberate the city from polytheism and the ways of
ignorance and immorality, he ordered his herald to
proclaim: Whoever declares that there is no god but
Allah alone, that He has no partner and that Muhammad
is His servant and His Messenger, he is safe...
Whoever sits at the Kabah and lays down his weapons,
he is safe. Whoever enters the house of Abu Sufyan, he
is safe.
Whoever enters the house of Hakim ibn Hazm, he is
safe... The house of Abu Sufyan was in the higher
part of Makkah and that of Hakim was in the lower part
of the city. By proclaiming these houses as places of
sanctuary, the Prophet wisely accorded recognition to
both Abu Sufyan and Hakim, weakening any thought they
might have of resisting and making it easier for them
to be more favorably disposed to him and his mission.
Hakim embraced Islam wholeheartedly. He vowed to
himself that he would atone for whatever he had done
during his Jahili days and that whatever amounts he
had spent in opposing

[IslamCity] Hamas Open for Negotiations with Israel

  Hamas Open for Negotiations with
  Israel

"We'll negotiate (with Israel)
better than the others, who negotiated for 10 years and achieved
nothing," said Abu Tir, hours before Israel arrested him.
(Reuters)
  CAIRO, January 15, 2006 (IslamOnline.net) – The
Palestinian resistance group Hamas, expected to make major inroads in the
Palestinian parliament in the January 25 polls, is open for negotiations
  with Israel.
"We'll negotiate (with Israel) better than the others,
who negotiated for 10 years and achieved nothing," Sheikh Mohammed Abu
Tir, the number two on Hamas's slate for legislative elections, told
Israel's Haaretz daily on Sunday, January 15.
"The question of negotiations will be presented to the
new parliament and, as with every issue, when we reach the parliament it
will be discussed and decided in a rational manner."
The ruling Fatah party has been engaged in on-off
talks with Israel since the run-up to the 1993 Oslo accord.
Abu Tir was one of three Hamas candidates and six
activists detained Sunday by Israeli occupation forces for electioneering
  in Al-Quds (occupied East Jerusalem).
Israel finally approved on Sunday allowing
Palestinians in Al-Quds to vote in the legislative elections, but banned
Hamas from listing its candidates on ballots in the holy city.
In a rare interview with Israeli radio on said
Wednesday, November 9, Hamas leader Mahmmoud Al-Zahar said the resistance
group was prepared to consider talks with Israel after the
  elections.
Hamas, which enjoys a soaring popularity among
Palestinians, is putting up candidates for parliament for the first time
and is expected to win big.

given a fair view though there may be some historical inaccuracies accoording to Ikhwan and other Islamic movements.Shah Abdul Hannan Past and present of political Islam Though universalist in outlook, political Islam found fertile ground in Egypt's 20th century history. Seventy-five years on, integrating secular and religious political trends is yet to be achieved, writes Mustafa El-Feki* The rise of "political Islam" is intrinsically associated with the birth of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is why it is so crucial to study the history of this organisation. Founded in 1928 by Hassan El-Banna, its first supreme guide, the Muslim Brotherhood's calling spread so rapidly that within a matter of years it evolved from a locally based group of proselytisers to a tightly structured socio-political movement whose influence in Egypt and elsewhere in the Middle East would grow exponentially over the next 75 years. However, if, as some have put it, the "brain" of political Islam is Egyptian, its "muscle" is Asian, in view of the profound impact Wahabi thought and practice had upon its development. It is of no small significance that political Islam, as first embodied in the Muslim Brotherhood, was born in Ismailia, on the banks of the Suez Canal, which was then
still under direct British military control. In this city, where a populous "Arab quarter" rubbed against a wealthy and exclusive foreign one, the friction between the local populace and the occupation forces was at its most immediate and intense. The effect of this face-to-face confrontation imparted the first charge of radicalism to the nascent movement's rejection of Westernisation. It was also in these early years of action that the movement's religious mission, and specifically its call to return to fundamental values and principles, became intrinsically bound to the drive for independence. It is also important to note that the birth of the Muslim Brotherhood occurred only a few years after the end of the Islamic caliphate following the rise of the secularist Ataturk to power in Turkey. El-Banna, thus, initiated his calling against the backdrop of the vacuum ensuing from the collapse of the political and religious hierarchies of the Ottoman Empire. His sense of
timing could not have been more astute. At a time when King Fouad and other political leaders were jockeying to fill the vacant caliphate, the Muslim Brotherhood's founder entered the fray at the head of a religious movement that derived its strength at the mosque and Muslim grassroots levels rather than by association with the seats of political power. While the Muslim Brotherhood may have derived its initial impetus from the circumstances surrounding the confrontation against the British in Ismailia and the collapse of the Islamic caliphate, its call for Muslim unity and Islamic revival had much earlier roots. These are to be found in the works of Gamaleddin Al-Afghani, the Imam Mohamed Abdu and Mohamed Rashid Rida, whose conceptualisations for an Islamic awakening that would end the state of apathy and stagnation in the Arab and Islamic worlds bore a clear political stamp. In a strong sense, therefore, these three late 19th and early 20th century reformers can be
regarded as the spiritual forefathers of the Muslim Brotherhood as a pan-Islamic phenomenon, to which the writings of Abdel-Rahman Al-Kawakbi and Shokeib Arslan contributed, laying the structural foundations. I would also suggest that the Muslim Brotherhood, in turn, is the immediate ancestor of all the trends of political Islam in recent decades. The works of the Egyptian Islamic philosopher Sayed Qotb and the Pakistani Islamic thinker Abul-Alaa Al-Mawdoudi, which gave unprecedented impetus to contemporary movements in political Islam, drew heavily on the thinking and experiences of the Muslim Brotherhood in its formative decades. I am not alone in this impression. Several years ago, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Interior Prince Taif Bin Abdul-Aziz observed that all the contemporary developments in the Islamist field began with the Muslim Brotherhood movement. I should add, however, that there has occurred a coupling between the Brotherhood's thinking and
certain Wahabist trends that have emerged from Saudi Arabia over the past two centuries. The resultant Islamist fusion cannot, therefore, be regarded as specific to Egypt. Moreover, several factors have contributed to its consolidation and

[IslamCity] Peaceful Israel Suspends Contact With Christain Evangelist Pat Robertson

Israel Suspends Contact With Pat RobertsonBy BRIAN MURPHY, AP Religion Writer Wed Jan 11, 5:40 PM EThttp://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060111/ap_on_re_mi_ea/israel_pat_robertson_2 (Comments in RED are
Mine)JERUSALEM - Israel has suspended contact with evangelist Pat Robertson for suggesting Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine punishment for withdrawing from the
Gaza Strip. The controversy has cast doubt on plans for a Christian tourism center that would showcase the growing flow of money and influence from U.S. church groups. The decision, announced Wednesday by Israeli officials, does not affect other Christian groups that also consider it their spiritual duty to support
Israel as fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Israeli leaders see the Christian allies as tireless lobbyists in Washington and elsewhere. The evangelicals also funnel millions of dollars each year to Jewish settlers in the West Bank and — before last year's pullout — the Gaza Strip. Tourism Minister Abraham Hirchson said he gave instructions to "stop all contact" with groups associated with Robertson. Last week, Robertson implied Sharon's massive stroke was a blow for "dividing God's land" with the withdrawal from Gaza and four West Bank settlements. But Hirchson said the order did not apply to "all the evangelical community,
God forbid."Robertson is leading a group of evangelicals who have pledged to raise $50 million to build the Christian Heritage Center in Israel's northern Galilee region, where tradition says Jesus lived and taught. Under a tentative agreement, Robertson's group was to put up the funding, while Israel would provide land and infrastructure. Hirchson had predicted it would draw up to 1 million pilgrims a year, generate $1.5 billion in spending and support about 40,000 jobs. But the fate of the project is now in question, said Ido Hartuv, spokesman for the tourism ministry. "We will not do business with him, only with other evangelicals who don't back these comments," Hartuv said. "We will do business with other evangelical leaders, friends of Israel, but not with him."A spokeswoman for Robertson's ministry declined to comment on Israel's decision. "We have not talked to the Israelis on this topic," said spokeswoman Angell Watts. "We continue to maintain our long-standing commitment to the Jewish people and the state of Israel." Robertson's comments on Sharon drew condemnation from other Christian leaders and President Bush."God considers this land to be his," Robertson said on his TV program "The 700 Club." "You read the Bible and he says 'This is my land,' and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, 'No, this is mine.'" The "Christian Zionist" movement began to take shape in the 19th century, but in recent decades it strengthened into a powerful force with deep pockets. Some estimates place the annual figure of evangelical aid to Israel at more than $25 million. The Gaza withdrawal has become a new and potent rallying point. In October, a group of Gaza settlers received a standing ovation from more than 5,000 Christians at a conference in Jerusalem sponsored by the International Christian Embassy, a private agency that promotes Christian
ties to Israel. Robertson's Christian Heritage Center is planned for 35 acres of rolling Galilee hills near key Christian sites, including Capernaum, the Mount of the Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount, and Tabgha — on the shores of the Sea of Galilee — where Christians believe Jesus performed the miracle of the loaves and fish.Israel was considering leasing the
land to the Christians for free. Hartuv left the door open for continuing the project, but only with people who don't back Robertson's statements. "We want to see who in the group supports his (Robertson's) statements. Those who support the statements cannot do business with us. Those that publicly support Ariel Sharon's recovery ... are welcome to do business with us," Hartuv said.Comments – MinePerhaps we Muslims should reflect on the following verse from the Quran“O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.”(Al-Qur'an, 5:51 Al-Maeda [The Table, The Table Spread])AB [EMAIL PROTECTED] "For to us will be their return; then it will be for us to call them to account." [IslamCity] Poodle Pakistan Condemns Deadly US Airstrike On Its Soil

2006-01-17 Thread Alan Border

“The Unbelievers are protectors, one of another: Unless ye do this, (protect each other), there would be tumult and oppression on earth, and great mischief.” (Al-Qur'an, 8:73 - Al-Anfal [Spoils of War, Booty]) Pakistan Condemns Deadly U.S. AirstrikeBy RIAZ KHAN, Associated Press Writer http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060114/ap_on_re_as/pakistan_al_qaida_attackDAMADOLA, Pakistan - Pakistan on Saturday condemned a deadly airstrike in which the U.S. reportedly targeted al-Qaida's second-in-command, as villagers whose homes were destroyed denied the militant was ever there and thousands of Pakistanis protested the attack. The statement came after U.S. networks, citing unnamed American intelligence officials, reported that a CIA-operated Predator drone aircraft carried out the missile strike Friday and that it was aimed at Ayman al-Zawahri in the Bajur tribal region of northwestern Pakistan.Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed did not directly blame the U.S. for the attack, which killed at least 17 people, but he said the government wanted "to assure the people we will not allow such incidents to reoccur."Two Pakistani officials told The Associated Press on Saturday that the CIA had acted on incorrect information, and al-Zawahri was not in the village of Damadola when it came under attack. Al-Zawahri is ranked No. 2 in the al-Qaida terror network, second only to Osama bin Laden. "Their information was wrong, and our investigations conclude that they acted on a false information," said a senior intelligence official. His account was confirmed by a senior government official, who said al-Zawahri "was not there."Meanwhile, sporadic protests broke out against the attack and hundreds of local tribesmen torched the office of the Associated Development Construction, a U.S.-funded aid group, in Khar, a small town near Bajur. The mob ransacked
furniture and computers, but no injuries were reported, resident Haji Habibullah said.An AP reporter who visited the scene in Damadola village about 12 hours after the airstrike saw three destroyed houses hundreds of yards apart. Villagers recounted hearing aircraft overhead moments before the attack. By their count at least 30 people died, including women and children. There was
no confirmation from either Islamabad or Washington on the reports that al-Zawahri had been targeted, but a Pakistani intelligence official said the CIA had told Pakistani agents that they had targeted al-Zawahri in the attack. Villagers in Damadola denied hosting al-Zawahri or any other al-Qaida or Taliban figure, saying all the dead were local people. On Saturday, more than 8,000 tribesmen staged a peaceful protest in a nearby town to condemn the airstrike, which one speaker described as "open terrorism."Earlier, the second intelligence official told AP the remains of some bodies had "quickly been removed" from Damadola after the strike and DNA tests were being conducted, but would not say by whom. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to media. The official added that hours before the strike some unidentified guests had arrived at the home of one tribesman named Shah Zaman.Zaman, whose home was destroyed, told AP he was a "law-abiding" laborer and had no ties to militants. He was not hurt
but said three of his children were killed. A local lawmaker who visited Damadola soon after the attack said no foreigners were among the dead. Sahibzada Haroon ur Rashid said all the bodies were identifiable and the victims were a family of jewelers. The spokesman for President Gen. Pervez Musharraf, a key ally in the U.S.-led war on terrorism, only said the explosions in the village were under investigation. In Washington, Pentagon, State Department, National Security Council and intelligence officials all said they had no information on the reports concerning al-Zawahri. In Afghanistan, U.S. military spokesman Lt. Mike Cody referred questions on the matter to the Pentagon. The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan referred questions to the Pakistan government.Doctors told AP that at least 17 people died in the attack. But at one destroyed house, Sami Ullah, a 17-year-old student, said he alone lost 24 of his relatives. Five women were weeping nearby, cursing the attackers.
"My entire family was killed, and I don't know whom should I blame for it," Ullah said. "I only seek justice from God." Zaman said he heard planes at around 2:40 a.m. and then eight explosions. Speaking as he dug through the rubble of his home, he said planes had been flying over the village for the last three or four days. "I ran out and saw planes were dropping bombs," said Zaman, 40, who lost two sons and a daughter. "I saw my home being hit." The attack was the latest in a series of strikes on the
Pakistan side of the border with Afghanistan, unexplained by authorities but widely suspected to have targeted terror suspects or Islamic militants. Pakistan

The year was 1998, the country was Turkey, and the rented plane ended up grounded by weather. Court records show the Islamic extremist who planned to commandeer the cockpit did not actually know how to fly. But if the audacious scheme prefigured Sept. 11, 2001, it also highlighted a cause that, seven years later, President Bush has used to define the war against terrorism. What the ill-prepared Turkish plotters told investigators they aimed to do was strike a dramatic blow toward reviving Islam's caliphate, the institution that had nominally governed the world's Muslims for nearly all of the almost 1,400 years since the death of the prophet Muhammad. The goal of reuniting Muslims under a single flag stands at the heart of the radical Islamic ideology Bush has warned
of repeatedly in recent major speeches on terrorism. In language evoking the Cold War, Bush has cast the conflict in Iraq as the pivotal battleground in a larger contest between advocates of freedom and those who seek to establish "a totalitarian Islamic empire reaching from Spain to Indonesia."Story continues below advertisement The enthusiasm of the extremists for that vision is not disputed. However unlikely its realization, the ambition may help explain terrorist acts that
often appear beyond understanding. When Osama bin Laden called the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon "a very small thing compared to this humiliation and contempt for more than 80 years," the reference was to the aftermath of World War I, when the last caliphate was suspended as European powers divided up the Middle East. Al Qaeda named its Internet newscast, which debuted in September, "The Voice of the Caliphate." Yet the caliphate is also esteemed by many ordinary Muslims. For most, its revival is not an urgent concern. Public opinion polls show immediate issues such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and discrimination rank as more pressing. But Muslims regard themselves as members of the umma, or community of believers, that forms the heart of Islam. And as earthly head of that community, the caliph is cherished both as memory and ideal, interviews indicate.• More world newsThat reservoir of respect represents a risk for the Bush administration as it addresses an issue closely watched by a global Islamic population estimated at 1.2 billion. Already, many surveys show that since the U.S.-led invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, Muslims almost universally have seen the war against terrorism as a war on Islam. "Why do you keep invading Muslim countries?" asked Kerem Acar, a tailor in central Istanbul. "I won't live to see it, and my children won't, but one day maybe my children's children will see someone declare himself the caliph, like the pope, and have an impact." The issue comes into sharp relief in Turkey, which is often held up as a democratic model for other Muslim nations but where empathy with fellow believers runs deep -- as Karen Hughes, a presidential adviser and undersecretary of state, was reminded in September when angry complaints about civilian casualties in Iraq dominated a public appearance in Ankara, the capital. Here, the last caliph, an urbane scholar, Abdulmecid Efendi, was

[IslamCity] Christ in Islam - His miraculous birth and His status in ISLAM

2006-01-17 Thread Asifa AM

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Allah, the Almighty, says: "O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) amessenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not “Trinity” : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To
Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs." (Al-Nisa: 4:171) Christ in IslamA detailed description of Prophet Eesa; Jesus Christ (PBUH) in
Islam. This book discusses Jesus Christ's (PBUH) life, his miraculous birth and his status in Islam. A Muslim is someone who submits to the will of God. Some Christian Brothers are astounded, bewildered, and astonished to hear when we say that Prophet Jesus
is mentioned twenty five times in the Qur'an, five times more than Prophet Muhammad. The Qur'an portrays Jesus as God's mighty messenger and no Muslim's faith is complete unless he accepts Jesus as a Prophet of God. What is remarkable about the life of Prophet Muhammad is that he came to clear the name of Prophet Jesus that he blasphemed against God by claiming a share in God's divinity. Prophet Muhammad hallowed Prophet Jesus as the messiah and as a devoted servant of God. It was Prophet Muhammad who brought the good news that Prophet Jesus did not die on the cross as the Qur'an so affirmatively asserts. He cleared the name of Prophet Jesus that he allegedly betrayed his covenant to God as a prophet and divine messenger. He put the life of Prophet Jesus in clear perspective and bore witness that he
was but a man commissioned by God to call humanity to God's way and was given special powers to help him accomplish his mission. Sheikh Ahmed Deedat use to say: "The Christians out of their love for Prophet Jesus say that he is God or the son of God, and the Muslims out of their love and obedience to God say he is a mighty messenger of God". Prophet Jesus was a great man and is unsurpassed in many ways, but you don't elevate a man or a Prophet by making him a God simply out of your love, respect and admiration for him. Who has the good news right? Is Jesus as portrayed in the Qur'an, a devoted servant of God, the truth or what the Church teaches through its doctrine of the trinity, God the father, the son, and the holy ghost? ~~~ Sheikh Ahmed Deedat presents his evidence and comes to the conclusion that the fathers of the church have the good news badly misconstrued. Author Biography: The world-renowned Muslim Scholar of Comparative Religion
was born in the Surat district of India in 1918 and He died at 87 on Monday, 8th August 2005, in Durban, South Africa The most significant of these was in 1936
where he worked at a Muslim owned store near a Christian seminary on the Natal South Coast. The incessant insults of the trainee missionaries hurled against Islam during their brief visits to the store infused a stubborn flame of desire within the young man to counteract their false propaganda. As fate would have it, Ahmed Deedat discovered by pure chance a book entitled Izharul-Haq, meaning, 'The Truth Revealed'. This book recorded the techniques and enormous success of the efforts of Muslims in India in turning the tables against Christian missionary harassment during the British subjugation and rule of India. In particular, the idea of holding debates had a profound effect on Ahmed Deedat.Armed with this newly found zeal, Ahmed Deedat purchased his first Bible and began holding debates and discussions with the trainee missionaries. When they beat a hasty retreat in the face of his incisive counter arguments, he personally called on their teachers and even priests in the surrounding areas. These successes spurred Ahmed
Deedat in the direction of Da'wah. Not even his marriage, birth of children and a three-year sojourn to Pakistan after its independence dampened his enthusiasm or dulled his desire to defend Islam from the deceitful distortions of the Christian missionaries. With missionary zeal to
project the Truth and beauty of Islam. Ahmed Deedat immersed himself into a host of activities over the next three decades. He conducted classes on Bible studies and gave numerous lectures. He established the As-Salaam, an institute to train propagators of Islam. He, together with his family, almost single-handedly erected the buildings including the masjid, which is still a landmark today. He was a founder member of the Islamic Propagation Center International (IPCI), Durban, and became its President. He has authored and published several books and distributed millions of copies free of charge. He has delivered thousands of lectures all over the world and successfully engaged prominent Christian Evangelists in

[IslamCity] Amr Khaleed: Phenomena

2006-01-17 Thread Islahonline

Amr Khaled: Islam's Billy Graham

More popular than Oprah Winfrey, the world's first Islamic television
evangelist commands an army of millions of followers
David Hardaker reports from Cairo
Published:04 January 2006

In a tiny house on the West Bank a young Palestinian woman is jogging the
length of her hallway and back. Again and again. The pain becomes unbearable.
But she keeps going. Eventually she completes two thousand laps. Why? Because
Amr said so. He called on young Muslims to get fit, and the woman could find no
other safe place to run.
In the choking grime of Cairo, another young woman is tending to a small
tomato vine, struggling into life atop a 10-storey city block. Why? Because Amr
wants his young followers to see something grow. It will provide hope - and
maybe a small income - in a part of the world where both are in short supply.
The greening of rooftops in the filth and decay of this Arab mega city is a
story being repeated again and again throughout the Arab world.
It is a powerful metaphor for the work of a religious and marketing
phenomenon called Amr Khaled, who is trying to pump oxygen into the arid lives
of Muslim youth. Amr (rhymes with "charmer") Khaled is the Arab world's first
Islamic tele-evangelist, a digital age Billy Graham who has fashioned himself
into the anti-Bin Laden, using the barrier-breaking power of satellite TV and
the internet to turn around a generation of lost Muslim youth.
"When you look at the reach of what he is doing and when you look at the
millions he is touching, I don't know another single individual in the region
who is having the impact that Amr Khaled is having," says the American Rick
Little, an adviser on youth issues to the UN who has worked with Khaled on job
creation schemes in the Middle East.
Khaled, 38, defies the stereotype of the Islamic preacher. In his Cairo
office it would be easy to mistake him for a City banker. No flowing robes for
him. He wears a hand-tailored cream suit, an open-necked sky-blue shirt,brown
loafers and a Bulgari watch. The accountant-turned-preacher shifts easily
between the worlds of religion and business.
To demonstrate the success of Khaled Inc, the CEO has at the ready a series
of graphs and pie-charts in a tastefully designed Annual Report. Inside he
points to the proof of his proudest boast: that Amr Khaled is more popular than
the US talk show juggernaut Oprah Winfrey.
Certainly, it seems to be the case. A corporate graph shows the number of
hits on the Amrkhaled.net website soaring far and beyond the Winfrey line. It is
a strange point of reference for an Islamic preacher. He explains, though, that
he is neither a preacher nor an Oprah. "I am in my own box," he laughs. And
perhaps he is.
Unlike other Middle Eastern preachers, Khaled has had a taste of life on
the other side of the religious and cultural divide. Three years ago he was
banned from speaking in Egypt because of his popularity. In self-imposed exile,
he set up shop in London, where he says he lived "a wonderful life, in
freedom".
Khaled has returned to his home country in the past few weeks, but his
experience of the West sharpened his perspective on the problems facing young
Muslims, in England and in the Arab world. He has come back with a dream: "I am
going now to build a bridge between the East and the West," he declares.
There is more than a touch of the thespian in Khaled, and he is well aware
of the power of his words to motivate. His prime target is the youth of the Arab
world, who feel that they are second-class citizens in a world dominated by the
United States and its values. To these young people he has a tough message about
the destructive force of self-pity. "We Muslims are living as parasites on the
world. Our problem is that we have got used to taking without ever giving," he
says. "Don't tell us it is a Western conspiracy against us, it is not."
Khaled's words capture what official reports into the Middle East have been
pointing to with increasing alarm: that rising poverty, unemployment and
illiteracy have made a toxic cocktail. Combined with authoritarian governments
and hostility to the United States, the cocktail has turned deadly and made its
young people easy prey for the likes of Osama bin Laden.
Khaled's remedy is a tough personal regime of self-renewal, based on what
he says are real Islamic values. His messages are drawn from the Koran, but they
are shaped to the 21st century. Muslims are told why it is contrary to Islam to
smoke, to litter the streets or to be lazy, and why it is good to collect
clothes for the poor or to vote in elections.
One devotee is the Egyptian business graduate Iman Salama, 24. She listens
to Khaled through a Walkman tucked under her veil while she does the housework.
"I am a big fan," she says. "I like that he wants to make the beliefs of Islam
more something that you can do in your day-to-day life." Like thousands of
others,

Fatimah: What Distinguishes Fatimah From Other Womenhttp://www.ourdialogue.com/f13.htm#1Question In my country, some people claim that Lady Fatimah, the daughter of the Prophet
Muhammad, peace be upon him, was a special woman. When she was born, the Prophet Moses' sister and Pharaoh's wife as well as Lady Mary, mother of the Prophet Jesus, attended her birth and that Lady Fatimah talked to Angel Gabriel, calling him uncle. Is this true?Answer That Lady Fatimah was a woman of distinction is an absolute fact. No one can claim otherwise. Her position of distinction is mentioned in more than one Hadith. Prophet is reported to have said: "Fatimah is a part of my flesh: whoever causes her to be upset, upsets me." (Related by Al-Bukhari). He also says: "Fatimah is the mistress of all women in heaven (with
the exception of Mary)." That is more than sufficient to make her one of the most distinguished women in the whole history of mankind.Lady Fatimah was the youngest of the Prophet's daughters. He loved her so dearly and he told her what he told no one else and she kept that secret until he had passed away. Lady Fatimah reports: "Allah's messenger, peace be upon him, came in one day when I was at Aisha's room and he spoke privately to me and I cried. He then spoke privately to me and I smiled.” Aisha asked me about this and I said I have learned something, but should I tell you Allah's messenger's secret? She dropped the subject. When the Prophet passed away she asked again and I told her: "He said to me: I think I will die this year, and that no woman in
any generation has ever had a greater tragedy than yours, so do not be less patient than any woman. I therefore cried. He then said to me: [Fatimah] You are the mistress of all women in heaven, with the exception of Mary, and I smiled." As for the attendance of the distinguished ladies you have mentioned at her birth and her talking to the angel, this cannot be authentic at all.Islam in Perspective http://www.ourdialogue.comAB [EMAIL PROTECTED] "For to us will be their return; then it will be for us to call them to account." [IslamCity] True servants of the Compassionate...

2006-01-17 Thread `Abdullah

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE BENEFICENT, THE MERCIFUL

61 Blessed is the One Who has decked the sky with constellations and placed in it a lamp and a shining moon.

62 He is the One Who has caused the night and the day to succeed each
other, for him who desires to learn a lesson or desires to render
thanks.

63 True servants of the Compassionate (Allah) are those who walk on the earth in humility and when the ignorant people address them, they say: Peace;

64 who pass the night prostrating before their Rabb and standing in prayers;

65 who say: Our Rabb! Ward off the punishment of hell from us, for its punishment is atrocious

66 - certainly it is an evil abode and an evil resting place;

67 who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor stingy, but keep the balance between those two extremes;

68 who do not invoke any other god besides Allah, nor kill any soul
which Allah has made sacred, except for a just cause, nor commit
fornication - he that does this shall be punished for his sin,

69 and his punishment shall be doubled on the Day of Resurrection and in disgrace he shall abide forever,

70 except the one who repents, becomes a true believer, and starts
doing good deeds, for then Allah will change his evil deeds into good,
and Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

71 He that repents and does good deeds, has truly turned to Allah with good turning.

72 Those are the ones who do not bear witness to falsehood and, if they ever pass by futility, pass with dignity.

73 Who, when reminded about the revelations of their Rabb, do not turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to them.

74 Who pray: Our Rabb! Make our wives and our children to be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of the righteous.

75 Such are the ones who will be rewarded with the lofty places in
paradise for their patience, wherein they shall be welcomed with
greetings and salutations.

76 They shall live forever in that excellent dwelling and excellent resting place!

77 O Muhammad! Say: My Rabb does not care at all if you invoke Him or
not. Now that you have rejected His revelations, soon you will face the
inevitable punishment. -- By the time through the ages! Surely mankind is in loss, Except those who believe and do good deeds; Exhort one another to the truth And exhort one another to patience.
Surah 103

[IslamCity] Poetry Approved by the Prophet (saws)

2006-01-17 Thread Alan Border

Poetry Approved by the Prophet Adil Salahi, Arab Newshttp://www.arabnews.com/?page=5section=0article=67003d=15m=7y=2005We mentioned last week the fact that many people tend to think that Islam does not approve of poetry, and stated that Islam does not take a stand against poetry in general, condemning everything poets compose. Rather, it is the contents that determine how Islam views a certain poem. We mentioned why the Prophet (peace be upon
him) himself never composed a line of poetry despite the fact that he was the most expressive and eloquent of people. But the Prophet appreciated fine poetry, recognizing that it could be an influential tool of Islamic advocacy, provided that it did not indulge in the sort of exaggeration poets often employ, particularly when they speak about themselves, or about someone they love, hate or want to curry favor with. When poetry has a message to make, or expresses something true, or describes a fact, or encourages something good, or exposes an evil practice, or is generally truthful, it is certainly good and should be encouraged. There were a number of fine poets among the Prophet’s companions, and he encouraged them to employ their art in the service of the Islamic message. When they
do that, there is no restriction on what they say, other than the general Islamic standards that apply to Muslims in all situations, such as the prohibition of falsehood and obscenity. History tells us that when the Prophet and his companions wanted to visit the Kaabah in Makkah, six years after their immigration to Madinah, the unbelievers in Makkah took an unyielding stand, trying hard to prevent them from doing so. It was the tribe of the Quraysh that ruled in Makkah and they were fierce in their opposition to Islam, having waged several battles to try to smash the newly established Muslim state in Madinah. The Prophet was with 1400 of his companions, all ready for their Umrah, wearing ihraam garments, and carrying only their swords in their sheaths, which was the normal
practice of anyone traveling far in the desert, but clearly indicating peaceful intentions. Yet the Quraysh was determined to prevent them entry, in violation of their commitment to allow entry for anyone who wants to worship at the Kaabah. There was an impasse that continued for several days, with the Prophet and his companions encamping at Al-Hudaybiyah, around 25 km from Makkah. Eventually the two sides reached an agreement by which the Prophet and his companions agreed to go back without entering Makkah, while the Quraysh committed themselves to allow the Muslims free entry to Makkah the following year for worship at the Kaabah for three days. When the Prophet and his companions came back the following year for their compensatory Umrah, one of their poets, Abdullah ibn Rawahah, was walking in
front of the Prophet and chanting a few lines of poetry that said: Move away, you unbelievers, from his path; This day, in defense of his revelations, we are able to strike you With such force that separates heads from their bodies And leaves a friend totally unaware of his friends.Umar was
walking close by and apparently he did not like what he heard. He said to Abdullah: “Ibn Rawahah! You are chanting poetry in front of God’s Messenger, and in God’s House?” The Prophet said to him: “Leave him alone, Umar. His poetry upsets the unbelievers more than arrows falling on them.” (Related by Al-Tirmidhi, Al-Nassaie, and Ibn Khuzaymah.)Another incident indicating that Umar did not like that poetry be recited in a mosque mentions that he once noticed that Hassan ibn Thabit was reciting some of his poetry in the Prophet’s Mosque. He looked at him in a way that showed disapproval. Hassan felt that Umar wanted him to stop. Therefore, he said to Umar: “I used to recite my poetry in this mosque at a time when there was here someone who was certainly better than you (meaning the Prophet
himself).” Hassan then turned to Abu Hurayrah and said to him: “I ask you by God to say whether you heard God’s Messenger saying to me: ‘Answer the unbelievers on my behalf! My Lord, strengthen him with the power of the Holy Spirit.’ Abu Hurayrah said: ‘I certainly have.’” (Related by Al-Bukhari and Muslim.)Umar’s disapproval did not amount to objection. When this incident took place he was the caliph ruling the Islamic state. So, he could have ordered Hassan to stop and Hassan would have had no choice but to comply. Umar simply looked at him disapprovingly. His attitude is based on the fact that poetry has been mentioned rather disapprovingly in the Qur’an. This shows how Umar was very sensitive to Islamic values. Since the Qur’an highlighted the main weakness of poetry given to
exaggeration, he felt that it was better kept outside the mosque. Hassan understood immediately what Umar was thinking. Hence, he sought Abu Hurayrah’s support in defending his action, who duly confirmed that Hassan used to
