[IslamCity] A New Perspective to the Cartoon controversy by Mirza Yawar Baig

As you know, we have all been witness to many letters written about 
the cartoons that the Danish newspaper published and which other 
countries deliberately and defiantly republished. There were two 
main stances that the publishers took.
 
1.Freedom of speech: We are free to say whatever we like about 
whoever we like.
2.Religions can't impose on us what we can or can't do.
 
Strangely or not so strangely nobody noticed the fact that the same 
law of freedom of speech was not invoked when the Iranian leader 
made his famous comments. And nothing strange about the fact that no 
religion was imposing anything on the godless, atheistic, secular 
West. It was they who were imposing on all religions in general 
(there was one cartoon with icons of Hindu, Christian and Buddhist 
deities as well) and on Islam in particular and yet crying 'wolf' as 
it were.
 
The Muslim responses in terms of letters have had only one common 
note:
 
1.What would the Prophet (SAS) himself have done if someone had 
made a cartoon about him or attempted to revile or insult him?

And the writers have then proceeded to say what they thought the 
Prophet (SAS) would have done drawing on the many stories where 
people did try to harm him in one way or the other and his reaction 
of not retaliating but praying for their guidance.
 
In my view, the issue here is not about what RasoolAllah (SAS) would 
have done. It is about what we, who claim to be his Ummah and who 
claim to love him, should do. The example of this is that if someone 
were to insult your father, he himself may choose to remain silent. 
But if you also remained silent what would that say about you? The 
Prophet (SAS) is not our father. He is more than our father and 
mother combined for all our generations, gone and yet to come. 
 
The question therefore is not about him. It is about you and me.
 
Now let us try to understand what the West is really attempting to 
do here. Anyone who really thinks that this is about so-called 
freedom of speech is really either someone who has no political 
perspective at all or is fooling himself.
 
Just ask yourself this simple question: Why is it that the Danish 
newspaper published these cartoons and even more importantly why is 
it that France, Italy and others republished them and then refused 
either to withdraw them or to apologize for doing this act?
 
The answer is also very simple: This is a test. To see what the 
Muslims will do if someone actually attacks their Prophet (SAS). 
 
My brothers and sisters, it is my own experience in life that there 
is one thing about the Muslims that is unique to them. No matter how 
bad a Muslim one may be; no matter how little that person may 
practice Islam, if anyone attacks the person (or memory) of the 
Prophet (SAS) this non-practicing, sinning Muslim would stand up in 
defense of the Prophet (SAS) even if it meant that he would 
personally be in danger. Alhamdulillah, the protests around the 
world tell me that this nature of the Muslim is still the same. 
 
And why is this the only reaction of anyone who claims to be Muslim? 
 
Imagine that you are in the Madina of RasoolAllah (SAS) and in the 
middle distance you can see the Prophet (SAS) himself sitting in the 
shade of a tree. Then as you watch him, you see a man come up to him 
and hit him. 
 
I ask you what will you do??
 
It is not about what the Prophet (SAS) will do. It is about what you 
will do. It is about asking yourself, what Omar ibn Al Khattab (RA) 
would do. Or Abu Bakr, Omar, Osman, Ali, Talha, Zubair (Radhiallahu 
anhum ajmaeen) would do.
 
So don't tell me what the Prophet (SAS) would do if someone attacked 
him. Tell me what you would do if someone attacked the Prophet 
(SAS). 

That, my brothers and sisters, is a measure of your imaan.
 
Now let us ask why the West chose this particularly obnoxious stance 
at this particular time.
 
So what is peculiar about this time?
 
First there was Afghanistan, the result of the cleverly instigated 
drama of the WTC. If you recall (our memories are often very short) 
just before America decided to fulfill its goal of attacking 
Afghanistan, the culmination of the WTC strategy; there was much 
trepidation about the possible reaction of the worldwide Muslim 
community if Afghanistan was attacked. The US then decided to take 
the risk. And then they loed and beheld that nothing happened that 
was out of the ordinary. There were some protests in the Middle East 
(so what's new??); some in the US and UK (these leftists and others 
will always scream, so who cares??) and some buses were burnt in 
Pakistan (well, tell me about it!!!). Some noises were made by 
Musharraf (our guy) and Saudi Arabia (well, you see they gotta say 
it) and that was it. After all, while they made the noises, the same 
leaders allowed the Americans to use their land and water to destroy 
their own brothers in Afghanistan for no reason other than that they 
wanted to practice Islam. Sure the

Sleeping on the right side


Lying down can be on the back, on the abdomen, on the left or right side. Which of these positions is the best for the functioning of the organs?
When lying on the abdomen, as Dr Attar says, a person will feel after a while short of breath as the backbones¡¯ mass prevents the chest from contracting and then relaxing during inhalation and exhalation. Moreover this position leads to an obligatory bending in the neck vertebras. Also, the contact of the reproductive organs with the bed leads to masturbation.

Another Hadith is the one narrated by Abu Umama (May Allah be pleased with him) he said: ¡° When the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed a man sleeping on his front in the mosque he hit him with his feet and said: wake up and seat as this is a diabolic sleep¡± 
Lying on the back, on the other hand, causes the respiration to be through the mouth. Dr Attar sees that the mouth opens up when lying on back as the inferior jaw relaxes.
However, the nose is the one prepared for respiration, as it contains hairs and mucous that act to purify the air entering during inspiration and as it has dense blood vessels that make the entering air warmer.
Respiration through the mouth then makes the person prone to colds, especially in the winter, and also to gum dryness and its resulting inflammation. 
As well as it evokes potential situations of dissemble excess or gumic hugely.
So these positions the jaw and uvula oppose the wideness of nose and prevents current of breath.
So snoring will increase.
Moreover, in this case, the person wakes up with an abnormal white layer covering hª¬_«® is tongue and an undesirable mouth odour.

 weapons). According to the Sunday Telegraph, Central Command and Strategic Command planners are identifying targets, assessing weapon-loads and working on logistics for the operation. They are reporting to the office of Donald Rumsfeld, the defence secretary, as America updates plans for action if the diplomatic offensive fails. "This is more than just the standard military contingency assessment," said a senior Pentagon adviser. "This has taken on much greater urgency in recent months."The prospect of military action could put Washington at odds with Britain which fears that an attack would spark violence across the Middle East, reprisals in the West and may not cripple Teheran's nuclear programme, said the Telegraph report. But the steady flow of disclosures about Iran's secret nuclear operations and the virulent anti-Israeli threats of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has prompted the fresh assessment of military options by Washington. The most likely
 strategy would involve aerial bombardment by long-distance B2 bombers, each armed with up to 40,000lb of precision weapons, including the latest bunker-busting devices. They would fly from bases in Missouri with mid-air refuelling.The Bush administration has recently announced plans to add conventional ballistic missiles to the armoury of its nuclear Trident submarines within the next two years. If ready in time, they would also form part of the plan of attack.Teheran has dispersed its nuclear plants, burying some deep underground, and has recently increased its air defences, but Pentagon planners believe that the raids could seriously set back Iran's nuclear programme. Ummah must avoid any single VIOLANCE :::

We have seen time to time, BUT mostly we didn't understand. You believe or not, 9/11 wasa trick, and then show the left i.e. Attack Afganistan, and finally attach Iraq and capture OIL.

It looks like something is going to happen against MUSLIM UMMAH very soon. Danish Cartoon might be some trick to involve Muslims. So be careful from their next step. We may not defend ourselves unless we re-form and Unite Perfectly.

We talk about non-muslims making joke ofIslaam but still many Muslimah don't wear Hijaab, disrespecting the teaching of Rasool Allah (saw) as well as the Quraan and dont even feel guilty and Ummah might be paying the price for it.

As for those who Divide their Religion and break up into Sects, thou hast NO part (Not Muslim any More) in them in the least: their affair is with Allah. He will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did." (Al_Quraan_006:159)
Lets look at some history of Pakistan. After Pakistan got independence, Jamat-e-Islami under Maulana Maudoodee, started going for election, BUT then Dr. Israr Ahmed gone separate and started his own Tanzeem-e-Islami, only because of one reason, that Jamat-e-Islami started going for the election, what D.r Israr Ahmed mentioned in one of his lecture. There are some other cases where they may never got united because
of several differences including those who never gone for election. As you can see still in Pakistan they were not able to established a complete Islaamic Sharia Law because till AUGUST year 2005. Allah already mentioned that if you dispute you will lose your power as in the following Ayaat.
And obey Allah and His Messenger and do not dispute among yourselves, for then you will be weak in hearts and your power will depart, and be patient; surely Allah is with the patient. (Al_Quraan_008.046)
General Public is now very confused and don't know where to go and what to do, so many of them started giving vote to Non-Islaamic Party. The blame goes back to many Islaamic Party, who are in Dispute and there Powerful Strength is Weaken. Remember Vote is also a testimony. Yes all Islaamic Party must reform themselves now before it gets too late. General Public must support the one to whom they understand that they are sincerely promising to establish Islamic Sharia Law. This way at least General Public may get relief on this issue on the day of Judgment. Allah knows the best.

Definition of imitation.
Imitation (tashabbuh in Arabic) means resembling. If we say that someone imitates someone else, we mean that he looks like him and acts like him. Likening a thing to something else (tashbeeh) means saying that it is like it. The word tashabbuh has many counterparts in Arabic which carry meanings such as being like, imitating, looking like, following, agreeing with, taking as an example, copying, etc. They all have shades of meaning of their own, but they also overlap with the meaning of tashabbuh. In terms of the terminology of Fiqh, al-Ghuzzi al-Shaafai defined tashabbuh as describing a persons attempt to be like the one whom he is imitating, in appearance, characteristics, equalities and / or attributes. It implies making an effort to achieve this and deliberately taking action for that purpose.
The ruling on imitating the kuffaar
One of the most important basic principles of our religion is that of al-walaa wal-baraa, loyalty (walaa) to Islam and its people, and diavowal (baraa) of kufr and its people. One of the essential features of this disavowal of kufr and its people is that the Muslim should be distinct from the people of kufr, and he should feel proud of his religion and of being a Muslim, no matter how strong and advanced and civilized the kuffaar may appear to be, and no matter how weak and backward and divided the Muslims may appear to be. It is not permissible under any circumstances to take the strength of the kuffaar and the weakness of the Muslims as an excuse for imitating and resembling them, as some hypocrites and defeatist Muslims claim. The texts which forbid imitating the kuffaar do not make any distinction between whether Muslims are strong or weak, because the Muslim can be distinct in his religion and be proud of being Muslim even when he is in a weak position.
Allaah calls us to be proud of Islam, and considers this to be the best of speech and the best kind of pride, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
And who is better in speech than he who [says: My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness), and then stands firm (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allahs (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: I am one of the Muslims. [Fussilat 41:33]

JAKARTA: About 500 Muslim protestors rallied in the Indonesian capital
yesterday to denounce controversial caricatures published in Europe,
calling the cartoons part of a war on Islam.

Members of Hizbut Tahrir (Party of Liberation) Indonesia massed in
Jakarta's central traffic circle, waving signs that read Stop
propaganda against Islam and The cartoons are proof of Western
enmity against Islam.

The Muslim group's spokesman Mohamed Ismail Yusanto said the
publication of the caricatures, which first appeared in a Danish
newspaper and subsequently in other mainly European newspapers, was
part of a war on Islam.

This is not just an insult against out prophet. Before this, Queen
Margrethe II of Denmark has called for opposition to Islam, he said,
referring to passages from the queen's official biography published
last year.

Muslims regard the cartoons as offensive, as Islamic tradition
prohibits any images of the prophet. The caricatures have sparked a
wave of protests across the Muslim world that have so far left 13
people dead worldwide.

Denmark is a small country. They won't have the guts to insult Islam
without backing from bigger countries like the United States, said
another speaker at the rally, Tengku Iskandar.
Enemies of Islam won't stay quiet until Islam is destroyed,
Iskandar charged, to chanting from the crowd.

Their method is provocation. When we are provoked, they say that's
the nature of Muslims -- troublemakers.

Hizbut Tahrir is an Islamic group that campaigns for the
reestablishment of Islamic rule through peaceful means. It has
branches in European countries.

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, in an opinion piece
published in the International Herald Tribune yesterday, said the
cartoon crisis serves as a reminder that all hell may break loose in a
world of intolerance and ignorance.

The international community must not come out of the cartoon crisis
broken and divided. We need to build more bridges between religions,
civilisations and culture, he wrote.

The best way for Muslims to fight intolerance and ignorance toward
Islam is by tirelessly reaching out to non-Muslims and projecting
Islam as a peaceful religion, he said.

Denmark has temporarily closed its missions in Indonesia, the world's
most populous Muslim nation, and has warned its nationals to leave the
country amid protests staged over the past week.

Security concerns over the safety of Danish nationals prompted the
cancellation of a friendly badminton match between Indonesia and
Denmark as part of preparations for the Thomas Cup championship.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is consistently and
persistently defying the âwishesâ of nuclear monopolistic powers to keep away
from its ambition to develop the nuclear technology in spite of the fact that it
is giving repeated assurance that it would be used only for the peaceful
purposes. The issue has become the hot-ball of world politics since its young
and energetic President Dr. Ahmadinjad started showing his determination to
carry it out and has now removed the seal and locks of the laboratories where
the experiment to enrich uranium was stopped some time back after a compromised
understanding between Iran and EU countries - Germany, UK and France. Both sides are
adamant and EU countries in collaboration with the
USA are planning
to bring the issue to the Security Council to impose some sanctions for her
defiance against the policy of nuclear nonproliferation. It has made the
situation very alarming as well chaotic with so many evil effects in its
aftermath. Hence, the issue must be evaluated by peace loving people of the
globe in its true perspective. In fact, there are many aspects of this issue and
I will, Insha Allah, discuss each in the briefest possible way.

1. In the world of nationalism and
democracy, the rights of a nation howsoever weak or small must be respected by
others and the UN. As such, every nation must have the right to develop the
nuclear technology for medical and other peaceful purposes like producing cheap
energy for its industrial development. Had the case been so, there would have
been no row against nuclear ambition of any country at all and the treaty of
nuclear proliferation could easily be enforced. But, unfortunately, the
fortunate âbig-fiveâ have monopolized the nuclear power by âchanceâ in the wake
of Second Great War when the world was in turmoil and their monopolistic
âmentalityâ dictates that none else should have this monstrous power. India,
Pakistan are the other two fortunate countries that developed it
out of their ârivalryâ and Israel possesses it in âdisguiseâ as the most favored
nation of the âbig-fiveâ. The rest of the world, in their estimation, is rouge,
if any country slightly expresses her desire to have it even for peaceful
purposes. This is totally immoral and
world conscience should never allow having it by a few while denying to
others. This is injustice and SC must remove this anomalous situation first
if it wants to maintain peace on earth.

2.
What is the guarantee that the
USA will not use
its nuclear power never-ever? Who is going to trust it if it cannot trust two
Muslim nations like Iran and Pakistan who not only âTrust in Godâ but also feel accountable to Him more than the
âfiveâ secular nuclear countries plus India. The matter becomes more serious
when the USA has
already resolved to use it in emergencies. William Rivers Pitt in his recent
article: âAttack on Iran: A Looming
Follyâ writes on January 9, 2006: âIn the worst case scenario, the
newly-minted American Order of Battle requiring the use of nuclear weapons to
rescue a surrounded and imperiled force could come into play, hurling the entire
planet into military and diplomatic bedlamâ, if the American forces face a
serious situation in Iraq [or Afghanistan] and are found surrounded by enemy
combatant forces of Iran and Syria.

3.
The âbig-fiveâ nuclear powers should have ignored
Iran and let it
meet its legitimate desire to be the nuclear power as they are âconvenientlyâ
ignoring Israel
out of their legendary âmockeryâ. They should have realized that the situation
of Iran is quite
different than that of South
Korea,
Taiwan,
Singapore,
Brazil or
South Africa.
They should have realized that
Iran is a
growing Shiia âsuper-powerâ on its own merit. From the oil-rich
Eastern Saudi Arabia upto Zahidan bordering
Pakistan and
from Bahrain to
Lebanon, there
is a surge of âShiia-nationalismâ. The secular west could check Arab-panism
through âenticement and intimidationâ but they cannot stop the growing âShiia â
nationalismâ form expansion, consolidation and emerging as a block of countries
fighting for their supremacy with enormous geopolitical importance, abundance of
raw material and energy resources of gas and oil, the dire need of
