the claim that there is no love-marriage in Islam is an _expression_ of ignorance. Love marriage is an established fact of nature. And Islam is the religion of nature.

Brother Salman Faheem,
You say things like this:-
" So one should be very clear that there is no concept of love marriage in islam."

you are also giving Fatwa. ?
Making statements at random - tends to bring about confusion
We should adhere to what we really know ( with our limited knowledge)
and if we wish to comment, then do so with authentic references.
See how much damage is caused to sister Maria ? Many more ???

From: Muhammad Salman Faheem

Bismillah-ir-Rehman-ir-Rahim

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rehmutallh!

Dear Muslim!

Hope this email find you in the best of imaan, health peace of mind. Today i wanna share some fatawa's regarding the concept of love marriage and dating in islam.

It is very clear and all scholars are agreed upon thatislam forbid any kind of friendship , courtship or dating b/w non mehrams unless they get married.

So one should be very clear that there is no concept of love marriage in islam.

Becausethe means through which one fall in love of other [even if they dont commit any sin , and have very decent relationship/ friendship] or starts liking each other go through the forbidden acts in islam [ like meeting, calling, chatting etc with non mehrams without any geniun need].

You never feel love for a person unless you have interaction and a relation with him/her through any means and it is not allowed because islamcloses every door of evil.

And even for the purpose of Dawah one should be very careful and avoid any interaction/relation with opposite sex. unless there is no other way.

If you start liking someone due to his/her religion / beauty / wealth / status/ personality / knowledge, you should propose her right away. without poluting your soul by having any relationship with her.

This strictness of Hijab segregation of sexes raised the question in our minds that if girls follow the islamic Hijab strictly, and if boys girl dont get any chance to get to know each other. no interaction at all then it might create problem in getting married.and choosing a spouse of thier choice.

Insha Allah , you will find a very detail guidline about it in one of the following fatwas.

For the people who take care of hijab strictly for them the person they married

is theonly one they ever love
is theonly one they ever have friendship
is theonly one they ever share thier feelings, dreams and plans
is theonly one they ever trusted

isnt that cute ? its the beauty of islam. Subhan Allah

So, first of all one should repent sincerely for having any relationship / friendship with non mehram. And break all kinds of contacts. and make dua by doing istekhara to make things in his/her favor.

May Allah forgive our sins and accept our sincere repentance, and give peace to our hearts.

May Allah guide us all and give us courage and imaan to keep ourselves away from all kinds of shars. Ameen. Ya Rabbil Aalameen.

wa ma alain illal balaaghul mubeen

[IslamCity] Why are so many Women converting to Islaam?

2006-03-21 Thread noor islaam

AsSalaam O Alaikum

ÈÓã Çááå ÇáÑÍãä ÇáÑÍíã
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Why are so many Women converting to Islaam?

According to "The Almanac Book of Facts", the population increased 137% within the past decade; Christianity increased 46%, while Islam increased 235%.
In a recent poll in the (US), 100,000 people per year in America alone, are converting to Islam. For every 1 male convert to Islam, 4 females convert to Islam, Why?
It is Clear why Christians are converting.
1. Christian Scientists are declaring the Quraan is from God. Visit Here for Christian and atheist Scientists who convert to Islam and why: http://wings.buffalo.edu/sa/muslim/library/jesus-say/ch13.htm
2. The Christian Bishops and Priests are admitting the Bible has tensions. http://wings.buffalo.edu/sa/muslim/library/jesus-say/ch2.1.html
3. Jesus is a Muslim: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Agora/4229/jam.html
The question still remains, why are more women converting than men to Islaam? Perhaps they realize their Soul is worth the Factual Research.
1. The Bible Convicts Women as the original Sinners, (i.e. Eve picking from the forbidden tree){Genesis 2:4-3:24}. The Quraan Clarifies it was Adam Not Eve {Quraan 7:19-25}
2. The Bible says, "The Birth of a Daughter is a loss" {Ecclesiasticus 22:3}. The Quraan says both are an Equal Blessing {Quraan 42:49}
3. The Bible Forbids Women from Speaking in church {I Corinthians 14:34-35}. The Quraan says Women Can argue with the Prophet {58:1}
4. In the Bible, divorced Women are Labeled as an Adulteress, while men are not {Matthew 5:31-32}. The Quraan does Not have Biblical double standards {Quraan 30:21}
5. In The Bible, Widows and Sisters do Not Inherit Any Property or Wealth, Only men do {Numbers 27:1-11} The Quraan Abolished this male greediness {Quraan 4:22} and God Protects All.
6. The Bible Allows Multiple Wives {I Kings 11:3} In The Quraan, God limits the number to 4 only under certain situations (with the Wife's permission) and Prefers you Marry Only One Wife {Quraan 4:3} The Quraan gives the Woman the Right to Choose who to Marry.
7. "If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives" {Deuteronomy 22:28-30}
One must ask a simple question here, who is really punished, the man who raped the woman or the woman who was raped? According to the Bible, you have to spend the Rest of Your Life with the man who Raped You.
The Prophet Muhammad Says {Volume 9, Book 86, Number 101} Narrated by Aisha:" It is essential to have the consent of a virgin (for the marriage)".
Would the Christian men Reading this prefer the Women they know to Be Christian or Muslim?
8. The Bible also asks Women to wear veils as in Islam {I Corinthians 11:3-10}, this lowers the chance of rape, (God Forbid).
9. Women were given rights to Vote less than a 100 years ago in the (US), while the Quraan (42:38) gave Women Voting rights almost 1,400 years ago.
10. Islam has unconfined Women and has given them the human right to reach for the sky. There have been Muslim Women Presidents through out the centuries, but to this date, the oppressive mentality of the men in the Western U.S.A. has stopped any Women from becoming Presidents in predominately Christian countries, while the Muslim countries have voted for and elected Female Presidents.

Baghdad Burning

... I'll meet you 'round the bend my friend, where hearts can heal and
souls can mend...

Three Years...
It has been three years since the beginning of the war that marked the
end of Iraq's independence. Three years of occupation and bloodshed.

Spring should be about renewal and rebirth. For Iraqis, spring has been
about reliving painful memories and preparing for future disasters. In
many ways, this year is like 2003 prior to the war when we were stocking
up on fuel, water, food and first aid supplies and medications. We're
doing it again this year but now we don't discuss what we're stocking up
for. Bombs and B-52's are so much easier to face than other possibilities.

I don't think anyone imagined three years ago that things could be quite
this bad today. The last few weeks have been ridden with tension. I'm so
tired of it all- we're all tired.

Three years and the electricity is worse than ever. The security
situation has gone from bad to worse. The country feels like it's on the
brink of chaos once more- but a pre-planned, pre-fabricated chaos being
led by religious militias and zealots.

School, college and work have been on again, off again affairs. It seems
for every two days of work/school, there are five days of sitting at
home waiting for the situation to improve. Right now college and school
are on hold because the arba3eeniya or the 40th Day is coming up-
more black and green flags, mobs of men in black and latmiyas. We were
told the children should try going back to school next Wednesday. I say
try because prior to the much-awaited parliamentary meeting a couple
of days ago, schools were out. After the Samarra mosque bombing, schools
were out. The children have been at home this year more than they've
been in school.

I'm especially worried about the Arba3eeniya this year. I'm worried
we'll see more of what happened to the Askari mosque in Samarra. Most
Iraqis seem to agree that the whole thing was set up by those who had
most to gain by driving Iraqis apart.

I'm sitting here trying to think what makes this year, 2006, so much
worse than 2005 or 2004. It's not the outward differences- things such
as electricity, water, dilapidated buildings, broken streets and ugly
concrete security walls. Those things are disturbing, but they are
fixable. Iraqis have proved again and again that countries can be
rebuilt. No- it's not the obvious that fills us with foreboding.

The real fear is the mentality of so many people lately- the rift that
seems to have worked it's way through the very heart of the country,
dividing people. It's disheartening to talk to acquaintances-
sophisticated, civilized people- and hear how Sunnis are like this, and
Shia are like that... To watch people pick up their things to move to
Sunni neighborhoods or Shia neighborhoods. How did this happen?

I read constantly analyses mostly written by foreigners or Iraqis who've
been abroad for decades talking about how there was always a divide
between Sunnis and Shia in Iraq (which, ironically, only becomes
apparent when you're not actually living amongst Iraqis they claim)...
but how under a dictator, nobody saw it or nobody wanted to see it. That
is simply not true- if there was a divide, it was between the fanatics
on both ends. The extreme Shia and extreme Sunnis. Most people simply
didn't go around making friends or socializing with neighbors based on
their sect. People didn't care- you could ask that question, but
everyone would look at you like you were silly and rude.

I remember as a child, during a visit, I was playing outside with one of
the neighbors children. Amal was exactly my age- we were even born in
the same month, only three days apart. We were laughing at a silly joke
and suddenly she turned and asked coyly, Are you Sanafir or Shanakil?
I stood there, puzzled. 'Sanafir' is the Arabic word for Smurfs and
'Shanakil is the Arabic word for Snorks. I didn't understand why she
was asking me if I was a Smurf or a Snork. Apparently, it was an
indirect way to ask whether I was Sunni (Sanafir) or Shia (Shanakil).

What??? I asked, half smiling. She laughed and asked me whether I
prayed with my hands to my sides or folded against my stomach. I
shrugged, not very interested and a little bit ashamed to admit that I
still didn't really know how to pray properly, at the tender age of 10.

Later that evening, I sat at my aunt's house and remember to ask my
mother whether we were Smurfs or Snorks. She gave me the same blank look
I had given Amal. Mama- do we pray like THIS or like THIS?! I got up
and did both prayer positions. My mother's eyes cleared and she shook
her head and rolled her eyes at my aunt, Why are you asking? Who wants
to know? I explained how Amal, our Shanakil neighbor, had asked me
earlier that day. Well tell Amal we're not Shanakil and we're not
Sanafir- we're

Good Manners and Form (Al-Adab)

TRANSLATION FROM SAHIH BUKHARI
BOOK 73

Volume 8,
Book 73, Number 1:

  Narrated Al-Walid bin 'Aizar:

  I heard Abi Amr 'Ash-Shaibani
saying, "The owner of this house." he pointed to 'Abdullah's house, "said, 'I
asked the Prophet 'Which deed is loved most by Allah?" He replied, 'To offer
prayers at their early (very first) stated times.' " 'Abdullah asked, "What is
the next (in goodness)?" The Prophet said, "To be good and dutiful to one's
parents," 'Abdullah asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" The Prophet said,
To participate in Jihad for Allah's Cause." 'Abdullah added, "The Prophet
narrated to me these three things, and if I had asked more, he would have told
  me more."

Volume 8,
Book 73, Number 2:

  Narrated Abu Huraira:
A man came to Allah's Apostle
and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best
companionship by me?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man said. "Who is
next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man further said, "Who is next?"
The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man asked for the fourth time, "Who is
next?" The Prophet said, "Your father. "

Volume 8,
Book 73, Number 3:

  Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr:

A man said to the Prophet,
"Shall I participate in Jihad?" The Prophet said, "Are your parents living?"
The man said, "Yes." the Prophet said, "Do Jihad for their benefit."

Volume 8,
Book 73, Number 4:

  Narrated 'Abdullah
  bin 'Amr:
  Allah's Apostle said. "It is
one of the greatest sins that a man should curse his parents." It was asked
(by the people), "O Allah's Apostle! How does a man curse his parents?" The
Prophet said, "'The man abuses the father of another man and the latter abuses
the father of the former and abuses his mother."

Volume 8,
Book 73, Number 5:

  Narrated Ibn 'Umar:
  Allah's Apostle said, "While
three persons were traveling, they were overtaken by rain and they took
shelter in a cave in a mountain. A big rock fell from the mountain over the
mouth of the cave and blocked it. They said to each other. 'Think of such good
(righteous) deeds which, you did for Allah's sake only, and invoke Allah by
giving reference to those deeds so that Allah may relieve you from your
difficulty. one of them said, 'O Allah! I had my parents who were very old and
I had small children for whose sake I used to work as a shepherd. When I
returned to them at night and milked (the sheep), I used to start giving the
milk to my parents first before giving to my children. And one day I went far
away in search of a grazing place (for my sheep), and didn't return home till
late at night and found that my parents had slept. I milked (my livestock) as
usual and brought the milk vessel and stood at their heads, and I disliked to
wake them up from their sleep, and I also disliked to give the milk to my
children before my parents though my children were crying (from hunger) at my
  feet.
So this state of mine and
theirs continued till the day dawned. (O Allah!) If you considered that I had
done that only for seeking Your pleasure, then please let there be an opening
through which we can see the sky.' So Allah made for them an opening through
which they could see the sky. Then the second person said, 'O Allah! I had a
she-cousin whom I loved as much as a passionate man love a woman. I tried to
seduce her but she refused till I paid her one-hundred Dinars So I worked hard
till I collected one hundred Dinars and went to her with that But when I sat
in between her legs (to have sexual intercourse with her), she said, 'O
Allah's slave! Be afraid of Allah ! Do not deflower me except legally (by
marriage contract). So I left her O Allah! If you considered that I had done
that only for seeking Your pleasure then please let the rock move a little to
  have a (wider) opening.'
So Allah shifted that rock to
make the opening wider for them. And the last (third) person said 'O Allah ! I
employed a laborer for wages equal to a Faraq (a certain measure: of rice, and
when he had finished his job he demanded his wages, but when I presented his
due to him, he gave it up and refused to take it. Then I kept on sowing that
rice for him (several times) till managed to buy with the price of the yield,
some cows and their shepherd Later on the laborer came to me an said. '(O
Allah's slave!) Be afraid o Allah, and do not be unjust to me an give me my
due.' I said (to him). 'Go and take those cows and their shepherd. So he took
them and went away. (So, O Allah!) If You considered that I had done that for
seeking Your pleasure, then please remove the remaining part of the rock.' And

[IslamCity] How Islamic inventors changed the world

2006-03-21 Thread Islahonline

http://musliminsuffer.blogspot.com/bismi-lLahi-rRahmani-rRahiemIn the Name of God, the Compassionate, the
Merciful== News Update ==How Islamic inventors changed the world Published: 11 March 2006 (Independent
UK)From coffee to cheques and the three-course meal, the
Muslim world has given us many innovations that we take for granted in daily
life. As a new exhibition opens, Paul Vallely nominates 20 of the most
influential- and identifies the men of genius behind them 1 The story
goes that an Arab named Khalid was tending his goats in the Kaffa region of
southern Ethiopia, when he noticed his animals became livelier after eating a
certain berry. He boiled the berries to make the first coffee. Certainly the
first record of the drink is of beans exported from Ethiopia to Yemen where
Sufis drank it to stay awake all night to pray on special occasions. By the late
15th century it had arrived in Mecca and Turkey from where it made its way to
Venice in 1645. It was brought to England in 1650 by a Turk named Pasqua Rosee
who opened the first coffee house in Lombard Street in the City of London. The
Arabic qahwa became the Turkish kahve then the Italian caffé and then English
coffee. 2 The ancient Greeks thought our eyes emitted rays, like a
laser, which enabled us to see. The first person to realise that light enters
the eye, rather than leaving it, was the 10th-century Muslim mathematician,
astronomer and physicist Ibn al-Haitham. He invented the first pin-hole camera
after noticing the way light came through a hole in window shutters. The smaller
the hole, the better the picture, he worked out, and set up the first Camera
Obscura (from the Arab word qamara for a dark or private room). He is also
credited with being the first man to shift physics from a philosophical activity
to an experimental one.3 A form of chess was played in ancient India but
the game was developed into the form we know it today in Persia. From there it
spread westward to Europe - where it was introduced by the Moors in Spain in the
10th century - and eastward as far as Japan. The word rook comes from the
Persian rukh, which means chariot.4 A thousand years before the Wright
brothers a Muslim poet, astronomer, musician and engineer named Abbas ibn Firnas
made several attempts to construct a flying machine. In 852 he jumped from the
minaret of the Grand Mosque in Cordoba using a loose cloak stiffened with wooden
struts. He hoped to glide like a bird. He didn't. But the cloak slowed his fall,
creating what is thought to be the first parachute, and leaving him with only
minor injuries. In 875, aged 70, having perfected a machine of silk and eagles'
feathers he tried again, jumping from a mountain. He flew to a significant
height and stayed aloft for ten minutes but crashed on landing - concluding,
correctly, that it was because he had not given his device a tail so it would
stall on landing. Baghdad international airport and a crater on the Moon are
named after him.5 Washing and bathing are religious requirements for
Muslims, which is perhaps why they perfected the recipe for soap which we still
use today. The ancient Egyptians had soap of a kind, as did the Romans who used
it more as a pomade. But it was the Arabs who combined vegetable oils with
sodium hydroxide and aromatics such as thyme oil. One of the Crusaders' most
striking characteristics, to Arab nostrils, was that they did not wash. Shampoo
was introduced to England by a Muslim who opened Mahomed's Indian Vapour Baths
on Brighton seafront in 1759 and was appointed Shampooing Surgeon to Kings
George IV and William IV.6 Distillation, the means of separating liquids
through differences in their boiling points, was invented around the year 800 by
Islam's foremost scientist, Jabir ibn Hayyan, who transformed alchemy into
chemistry, inventing many of the basic processes and apparatus still in use
today - liquefaction, crystallisation, distillation, purification, oxidisation,
evaporation and filtration. As well as discovering sulphuric and nitric acid, he
invented the alembic still, giving the world intense rosewater and other
perfumes and alcoholic spirits (although drinking them is haram, or forbidden,
in Islam). Ibn Hayyan emphasised systematic experimentation and was the founder
of modern chemistry.7 The crank-shaft is a device which translates
rotary into linear motion and is central to much of the machinery in the modern
world, not least the internal combustion engine. One of the most important
mechanical inventions in the history of humankind, it was created by an
ingenious Muslim engineer called al-Jazari to raise water for irrigation. His
1206 Book of Knowledge of Ingenious Mechanical Devices shows he also invented or
refined the use of valves and pistons, devised some of the first mechanical
clocks driven by water and weights, and was the father of robotics. Among his 50
other inventions was the

Re: [IslamCity] How Islamic inventors changed the world

2006-03-21 Thread Awais K.Alvi

Dear brothrs Sisters, Please read this carefully,AssalamuAlaikum, its been observed that most of us write "MOSQUE" for "MASJID" and even calling it as Mosque in daily routine, what elders and teachers say that the word "Mosque" means the house of mosquitoes not Masjid. So better be careful next time instead of using mosque, u can use MASJID... Most we have seen the spellings of "MAAKAH” as MECCA. The word MECCA means "Sharab Khaana". So lets all of us be careful writing MECCA Many people whose name start with Muhammed, write in a short form as "Mohd" This "Mohd" means "A dog which has a big mouth" so always be careful to not to repeat these mistakes again. Please forward this message to as many Muslim brothersBest of luck, Awais KhalidIslahonline [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: http://musliminsuffer.blogspot.com/bismi-lLahi-rRahmani-rRahiemIn the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful== News Update ==How Islamic inventors changed the world Published: 11 March 2006 (Independent UK)From coffee to cheques and the three-course meal, the Muslim world has given us many innovations that we take for granted in daily life. As a new exhibition opens, Paul Vallely nominates 20 of the most influential- and identifies the men of genius behind them 1 The story goes that an Arab named Khalid was tending his goats in the Kaffa region of southern Ethiopia, when he noticed his animals became livelier after eating a certain berry. He boiled the berries to make the first coffee. Certainly
the first record of the drink is of beans exported from Ethiopia to Yemen where Sufis drank it to stay awake all night to pray on special occasions. By the late 15th century it had arrived in Mecca and Turkey from where it made its way to Venice in 1645. It was brought to England in 1650 by a Turk named Pasqua Rosee who opened the first coffee house in Lombard Street in the City of London. The Arabic qahwa became the Turkish kahve then the Italian caffé and then English coffee. 2 The ancient Greeks thought our eyes emitted rays, like a laser, which enabled us to see. The first person to realise that light enters the eye, rather than leaving it, was the 10th-century Muslim mathematician, astronomer and physicist Ibn al-Haitham. He invented the first pin-hole camera after noticing the way light came through a hole in window shutters. The smaller the hole, the better the picture, he worked out, and set up the first Camera Obscura (from the Arab word qamara for a dark or private
room). He is also credited with being the first man to shift physics from a philosophical activity to an experimental one.3 A form of chess was played in ancient India but the game was developed into the form we know it today in Persia. From there it spread westward to Europe - where it was introduced by the Moors in Spain in the 10th century - and eastward as far as Japan. The word rook comes from the Persian rukh, which means chariot.4 A thousand years before the Wright brothers a Muslim poet, astronomer, musician and engineer named Abbas ibn Firnas made several attempts to construct a flying machine. In 852 he jumped from the minaret of the Grand Mosque in Cordoba using a loose cloak stiffened with wooden struts. He hoped to glide like a bird. He didn't. But the cloak slowed his fall, creating what is thought to be the first parachute, and leaving him with only minor injuries. In 875, aged 70, having perfected a machine of silk and eagles' feathers he tried again,
jumping from a mountain. He flew to a significant height and stayed aloft for ten minutes but crashed on landing - concluding, correctly, that it was because he had not given his device a tail so it would stall on landing. Baghdad international airport and a crater on the Moon are named after him.5 Washing and bathing are religious requirements for Muslims, which is perhaps why they perfected the recipe for soap which we still use today. The ancient Egyptians had soap of a kind, as did the Romans who used it more as a pomade. But it was the Arabs who combined vegetable oils with sodium hydroxide and aromatics such as thyme oil. One of the Crusaders' most striking characteristics, to Arab nostrils, was that they did not wash. Shampoo was introduced to England by a Muslim who opened Mahomed's Indian Vapour Baths on Brighton seafront in 1759 and was appointed Shampooing Surgeon to Kings George IV and William IV.6 Distillation, the means of separating liquids through
differences in their boiling points, was invented around the year 800 by Islam's foremost scientist, Jabir ibn Hayyan, who transformed alchemy into chemistry, inventing many of the basic processes and apparatus still in use today - liquefaction, crystallisation, distillation, purification, oxidisation, evaporation and filtration. As well as discovering sulphuric and nitric acid, he invented the alembic still, giving the world intense rosewater and other perfumes and alcoholic spirits (although drinking them is
