Boycott Israel [IslamCity] Warning about Internet sites that distort the Qur'aan
- All questions and answers of this book (580 pages) are FREELY available online at: http://www.islammuslims.com/bismillah.htm - 2428: Warning about Internet sites that distort the Qur'aan Question: Salam o Aleikum, A friend of mine brought to my attention this Web site where the guy changed the verses of the Qoran and says it is the Qoran. This is the site: XXX What can we do to stop this? I have a question if anybody can answer. I have a christain friend who wants me to go to her wedding where I know they will say the three and son of god during the ceremony. What does a muslim do in that situation, does he go to the ceremony or just the party afterwards. Also what if somebody converts to Islam and her sister is getting married (who is still christain) does that person attend the ceremony? Thank you very much and please cite your sources. Answer: Praise be to Allah. Before answering this question, we should advise you of the importance of wisdom in denouncing evil, and of being careful not to inadvertantly promote anti-Islamic websites so that everyone will go and read them, because this will indirectly contribute to the promotion of these worthless people who claim to imitate the Qur'aan. Producing anything like the Qur'aan is impossible, because Allaah challenged anyone to do this. This challenge was issued to the most brilliant and eloquent Arab poets at the time when the Qur'aan was revealed, which was also the time when Arabic eloquence was at its peak. Allaah said (interpretation of the meaning): Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Qur'aan) if they are truthful. [al-Tur 52:34] When they could not do this, Allaah challenged them to produce ten soorahs like its soorahs: Or they say: `He (Muhammad) forged it (the Qur'aan).' Say: `Bring you then ten forged soorahs (chapters) like unto it, and call whomsoever you can, other than Allah (to your help), if you speak the truth!' [Hud 11:13 _ interpretation of the meaning]. When they could not do this, Allah challenged them to produce just one soorah that contained the same eloquence and wisdom as the Qur'aan. He said (interpretation of the meaning): Or do they say: `He (Muhammad) has forged it'? Say: `Bring then a soorah (chapter) like unto it, and call upon whomsoever you like, besides Allah, if you are truthful! [Yoonus 10:38] Allah called on them to seek help from whoever they wanted, and to accept the challenge. He said (interpretation of the meaning): And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down to Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a soorah of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allah, if you are truthful. [al-Baqarah 2:23] When they were unable to do this, Allah informed them that they would never be able to do it, no matter who they called upon to help them. He said (interpretation of the meaning): Say: `If mankind and jinn were together to produce the like of this Qur'aan, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another.' [al-Isra' 17:88] There is no one except Allah who can produce the like of the Qur'aan, because the Qur'aan, as He says, is a Book, the Verses whereof are perfected and then explained in detail from One Who is All-Wise and Well-Acquainted (with all things). [Hud 11:1 _ interpretation of the meaning]. When some liars did try to imitate the Qur'aan they came up with ridicualous nonsense that would make children laugh, let alone mature and intelligent adults. For example, the liar Musaylimah said: O frog, daughter of two frogs, croak as much as you want, your upper part is in the water and your lower part is in the mud. This is an example of the kind of thing said by him and other pretenders to Prophethood. (See Sayd al-Khaatir by Ibn al-Jawzi, p. 404). Some forms of falsehood may deceive some of the people because of their ignorance and lack of understanding of the rules of grammar and accepted styles of eloquence in Arabic. But anyone who has intelligence and common sense should at least be able to see the difference and realize that these made-up words cannot possibly be Qur'aan. If we look at the Website referred to in the question, we see that kufr is quite clearly mentioned in these fabricated soorahs, such as the statement that the Messiah is the son of God or is God, and the promotion of the evil madhhab of Raafidah (a kind of Shi'ah), and other such nonsense. There are also some weird contradictions, for example, these liars say in the so-called sixth aayah of the so-called soorah al-tajassud: Exalted be He above taking any of His creation as a son, but then we find in the so-called ninth aayah of the so-called soorah al-eemaan the words: You are he, the son of God, truly; in you we believe. But verily Allah has spoken the truth when He said (interpretation of the meaning): Do they not then

The Imam is right to criticise under the freedom of act and he is not guilty until proved otherwise. The onus rests with the Government. But as these governments are overtly and covertly led by zionists of the elders, there is no way for a dialogue or debate on crucial issues .. and the West calls it the age of elightenment and tolerance and progress. Re: Boycott Israel [IslamCity] The foolish Australian Imam part 2
Brother Farrukh, As Salam Alaikum, Sorry to jump on the band wagon. I have neither the patience nor the time to read all comments and view points. Away from the actual incident of what was siad and the outcry it generated, let me tell you -- To me personally it is obnoxious to see women dressed in a manner that reveals their bodies and shapes. It is even worse when repeatedly I feel tested when a motorbike approaches adjacent to my car at an intersection where a scantily clad female pylon rider is revealing virtually half her bare backside as the natural shape of a woman's body makes it difficult for trousers, Jeans or shorts to remain snuggly in place as is the case where men are concerned. My question is -- Are we completely blind? Can't we see why women dressing like men is wrong? For god's sake in the name of freedom of action, thought and speech let us not get so carried away as to subject atleast people like me to struggle so hard from takingtheir eyes away from something so vulgar but something that also has the Satanic trappings of temptations in it. Sorry Sir, Women displaying bare bodies are nothing but a menace and all should be done to bring back a dress code of decency that lends dignity to a Woman's stature. Mind you I am not one of those who is a proponent of Burqa or heavily covered Women in a Chadar. Boycott Israel [IslamCity] Karen Armstrong - The Paradox of Veiling
My years in a habit taught me the paradox of veiling If ministers really want a proper debate, they must learn that where the veil is forbidden, women hasten to wear it. Karen ArmstrongThursday October 26, 2006The Guardian I spent seven years of my girlhood heavily veiled - not in a Muslim niqab but in a nun's habit. We wore voluminous black robes, large rosaries and crucifixes, and an elaborate headdress: you could see a small slice of my face from the front, but from the side I was entirely shielded from view. We must have looked very odd indeed, walking dourly through the colourful carnival of London during the swinging 60s, but nobody ever asked us to exchange our habits for more conventional attire. When my order was founded in the 1840s, not long after Catholic emancipation, people were so enraged to see nuns brazenly wearing their habits in the streets that they pelted them with rotten fruit and horse dung. Nuns had been banned from Britain since the Reformation; their return seemed to herald the resurgence of barbarism. Two hundred and fifty years after the gunpowder plot, Catholicism was still feared as unassimilable, irredeemably alien to the British ethos, fanatically opposed to democracy and freedom, and a fifth column allied to dangerous enemies abroad. Today the veiled Muslim woman appears to symbolise the perceived Islamic threat, as nuns once epitomised the evils of popery. She seems a barbaric affront to hard-won values that are essential to our cultural identity: gender equality, freedom, transparency and openness. But in the Muslim world the veil has also acquired a new symbolism. If government ministers really want to debate the issue fruitfully, they must become familiar with the bitterly ironic history of veiling during the last hundred years. Until the late 19th century, veiling was neither a central nor a universal practice in the Islamic world. The Qur'an does not command all women to cover their heads; the full hijab was traditionally worn only by aristocratic women, as a mark of status. In Egypt, under Muhammad Ali's leadership (1805-48), the lot of women improved dramatically, and many were abandoning the veil and moving more freely in society. But after the British occupied Egypt in 1882, the consul general, Lord Cromer, ignored this development. He argued that veiling was the "fatal obstacle" that prevented Egyptians from participating fully in western civilisation. Until it was abolished, Egypt would need the benevolent supervision of the colonialists. But Cromer had cynically exploited feminist ideas to advance the colonial project. Egyptian women lost many of their new educational and professional opportunities under the British, and Cromer was co-founder in London of the Anti-Women's Suffrage League. When Egyptian pundits sycophantically supported Cromer, veiling became a hot issue. In 1899 Qassim Amin published Tahrir al-Mara - The Liberation of Women - which obsequiously praised the nobility of European culture, arguing that the veil symbolised everything that was wrong with Islam and Egypt. It was no feminist tract: Egyptian women, according to Amin, were dirty, ignorant and hopelessly inadequate parents. The book created a furore, and the ensuing debate made the veil a symbol of resistance to colonialism. The problem was compounded in other parts of the Muslim world by reformers who wanted their countries to look modern, even though most of the population had no real understanding of secular institutions. When Ataturk secularised Turkey, men and women were forced into European costumes that felt like fancy dress. In Iran, the shahs' soldiers used to march through the streets with their bayonets at the ready, tearing off the women's veils and ripping them to pieces. In 1935, Shah Reza Pahlavi ordered the army to shoot at unarmed demonstrators who were protesting against obligatory western dress. Hundreds of Iranians died that day. Many women, whose mothers had happily discarded the veil, adopted the hijab in order to dissociate themselves from aggressively secular regimes. This happened in Egypt under President Anwar Sadat and it continues under Hosni Mubarak. When the shah

Dear members, Assalamu Alaikum. Please read this report of horrible and brutal attack by Pakistan security forces on a school in Frontier province of Pakistan which led to the death of 80 child and young students. Shah Abdul Hannan Pakistan Raids School, Kills Scores Islamonline.net News Agencies The brutal raid claimed the lives of more than 80 civilians, including children as young as seven. KHAR, Pakistan Pakistani troops backed by missile-firing helicopters attacked Monday, October 30, a madrasah (religious school) near the Afghan border on claims of being a training camp for al-Qaeda, killing tens of people, amid outcries that the victims were all students killed in their sleep. "Information we have received from certain local sources and intelligence sources suggests that there may be up to 80 dead," chief military spokesman Major-General Shaukat Sultan told Agence France Presse (AFP). "We had information about the presence of 70 to 80 miscreants, including some foreigners, who were engaging in militant training in this madrasah and we carried out an operation using gunship helicopters and precision weapons," he added. "Most of the compound was destroyed." Security officials said a local Taliban commander known as Maulvi Liaqat, who ran the madrasah and was wanted by the authorities, was among the dead. The strike near Khar, the main town in Bajaur tribal agency, was the biggest for months in the restive frontier region where many Al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters are believed to have sought sanctuary since 2001. Bajaur was the scene of a savage US air strike in January on claims of hunting Al-Qaeda number two Ayman al-Zawahiri. The 13 January raid killed at least 18 people, mostly civilians. Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said in an interview released Thursday, September 21, that the US blackmailed his country by threatening to bomb it "back to the Stone Age" after the 9/11 attacks unless it supported the war on terror. Shortly after 9/11, Pakistan abandoned its support for the ruling Taliban in Afghanistan and became a front-line ally in Washington's o-called war on terror. The South Asian country has since deployed around 80,000 troops on the rugged border with Afghanistan to hunt pro-Taliban and Al-Qaeda elements. Brutal Qazi Hussain Ahmed branded the attack as "brutal and barbaric," calling for a massive strike in the region. Boycott Israel [IslamCity] Islam is progressing in Turkey despite Army and secularist attemts to repress Islam's role in national and public life.
Dear members, Assalamu Alaikum. Please see the news item which shows that Islam is progressing in Turkey despite Army and secularist attemts to repress Islam's role in national and public life. Shah Abdul Hannan Islam Thriving in Southeast Turkey IslamOnline.net News Agencies Mosques are welcoming more worshippers in Diyarbakir and Islamic groups are increasingly helping the poor and the needy. (Reuters) DIYARBAKIR, Turkey An Islamic drive is picking up steam in Turkey's southeast with Islamic NGOs mushrooming, mosques and prayer rooms increasing and people being more open to talk about their faith in the strictly secular country. "We feel much freer to practice Islam," Engin Aydin, a teacher and physics graduate who was selling religious books near Diyarbakir's 11th century Ulu Cami mosque, told Reuters on Monday, October 30. "It's getting better by the day." In Diyarbakir, the southeast's largest city, mosques are welcoming more worshippers and Islamic movements and NGOs are increasingly helping the poor and the needy. Rallies championing Islamic causes are increasingly replacing demonstrations in favor of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) or its jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan in the city, which has a large Kurdish population. "There are more religious events now, there are tents collecting money for Palestinians and Lebanese causes," said Esra Likic, a 21-year-old student. Earlier this year, a march against Danish cartoons ridiculing Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) drew as many as 80,000 people. Chief among the rising Islamic movements in Diyarbakir are Mustazaflar [the downtrodden], the Nurcu and the time-honored Nakshibendi. "The Nakshibendis are powerful in social life. They are not directly in politics but underground they can make deals with political parties," said lawyer Sitki Zilan. He stressed that Islamic NGOs go back to some 200 years. "They are traditional movements, they change names, leaders but they're always there, present in the communities. "Islam is like a tree, it has roots which the Kemalists cut away but they are now growing back," he said referring to a secularist ideology based on the ideas of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the republic's founder. No Threat Some are seeing this as a new threat to the well-established secularism in the largely Muslim country. Firat Anli, mayor of a district of Diyarbakir and member of the main Kurdish party, the Democratic Society Party (DTP), claimed that "radical" Islamic associations are thriving. "In every poor neighborhood, new radical Islamic associations are giving hot food, they have meetings at people's homes," he said. "They pay for students to go to school. "I'm very
Boycott Israel [IslamCity] Hounded US Muslims Donate Less ---http://www.islamonline.net/English/News/2006-10/30/05.shtml
Hounded US Muslims Donate Less IslamOnline.net Newspapers "Contributions across the board have been drastically reduced because of the fear," said Chebbani. CAIRO Many US Muslims are donating less and less to Islamic charities, fearing that they might be placed on FBI watch lists and accused of channeling money to organizations designated as terrorist by the State Department, a US newspaper reported on Monday, October 30. "Contributions across the board have been drastically reduced because of the fear; people associate contributions with risk and they dont want that," accountant Ahmad Chebbani told The Washington Post. Chebbani, the owner of Omnex Accounting and Tax Service Corporation and the president of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce for eight years until this June, used to donate $50,000 annually to charity, basically to Muslim organizations. Now he changed the target to avoid unwanted attention from federal powers, giving money to secular institutions like the Arab American National Museum. "Theres a lack of trust in the US judicial system, with just an accusation you could end up in jail with secret evidence used as a means of prosecution." Chebanni said US Muslim charity in Dearborn, Michigan, home to the largest Muslim and Arab concentrations in the US, is down by almost half. Since the 9-11 attacks, US federal authorities have placed Muslim charities under the microscope on claims of channeling funds to terrorists. Years after raiding 15 Muslim charities in Falls Church, Leesburg and Fairfax County and carting away piles of documents, US investigators are not yet able to produce evidence to substantiate claims of funding terrorists. The Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence at the Treasury Department has also shut down five major Muslim charities since then, seizing millions of dollars in assets. The Bush administration further froze the assets of at least five pro-Palestinians charities in Europe and Lebanon in 2003. It reportedly pressured the Palestinian Authority to freeze the bank accounts of 18 charities on claims of donating money to the resistance group Hamas, which is designated terrorist by Washington. Dilemma "Its a real moral dilemma. Do you forget about the rest of the world out of fear?" wondered Bazzy. Najah Bazzy, who established the Zaman International charity in Dearborn, says US Muslims are in an unenviable situation. "Its a real moral dilemma. Do you forget about the rest of the world out of fear? My family has been here for 101 years, and as an American
