As all the decisions are against occupation of the land but no body gives any little attention to those who haven't had life's basics. Answer The crisis in Darfur is very big and far beyond the reach of the humanitarian organizations. There are very far places that they neither the government nor the humanitarian organizations can reach. There has to be a bigger role for the international organizations and the international community to help the government put plans to reform Darfur, specailly that Darfur doesn't have an infrastrucutre. The crisis is very big and the international community doesn't have to contribute by selling arms and weapons but they would better contribute to build infrastrucutre as the shelters are a short-run solutions. Why would they be supported? Appreciated, Answer The Janjaweed is an old and very broad expression. They are from different tribes in Darfur, and mainly thieves as a result of the bad social and economic conditions. Its a broad expression, and they dont come from a special tribe or group. They are manily a group of thieves who have weapons and collect themselves to attack people. The governemnt at the beginning used them (from different tribes) to confront the rebel forces -- but for a short period. But now no one is supporting them. Name A.Mahmoud- Profession Question With the giant lake discovered in Darfur, why do you think it would make no difference in solving this conflict (that is claimed to be on resources)? Answer First the lake that was discovered was a bottom water and wasnt discovered recently. It's an old lake with deep water underground and needs many resources so that it can be used as there is no infrastructure; so that this water can't be used and thus can't contribute to resolving the crisis because of the lack of resources. Name -- Profession Question Who is behind the crisis in Darfur? How can the crisis be resolved and when? Answer The crisis started as a normal conflict between two tribes in Darfur, an Arab tribe and a Zaghawa. Such conflicts used to get resolved in terms of treaties and agreements between the two tribes, but the government was slow in solving the problem because it underestimated it, which lead to its intensification of the crisis and made it more difficult to be solved. To resolve the crisis, the international community has to be neutral, fair, and not to use double standards. It also has to support the people and provide resources to build the infrastrucutre for Darfur. The solution is also within the hands of the people of Darfur and the tribes and intellectuals in Darfur, they should sit together and make a conference and discuss the crisis as they used to do before. The Darfuri tradition in solving the crisis was used to be taught in international universities in crisis management. The solution for the crisis isn't difficult, but it needs all sides of the conflict from the government, tribes, rebels and the people to sit together and reach an agreement and the problem will be solved. The Grandfather solemnly said, The one I feed. *** The Meaning of Nafs by Muhammad 'Afifi al-'Akiti Ibn Kathir says: The Mu'min are a people who have been prevented through the Qur'an from indulging in the pleasures of this world; it comes between them and what might destroy them. The Mu'min is like a prisoner in this world, who tries to free himself from its shackles and chains, placing his trust in nothing in it, until the day he meets his Creator. He knows full well that he is accountable for everything that he hears, sees and says, and for everything that he does with his body. (Al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah, vol. 9 pg. 276, Cairo 1352) There are two kinds of people, one are those whose Nafs have overcome them and led them to ruin because they yielded to them and obeyed their impulses. The other kinds are those who have overcome their Nafs and made them obey their commands. Nafs (pl. Anfus or Nufus) lexically means soul, the psyche, the ego, self, life, person, heart or mind. (Mu'jam, Kassis) Although some scholars have classified the Nafs up to 7 stages, there is agreement among Ulama' that in the Qur'an, Allah (s.w.t.) has described at least 3 main types of the Nafs. And these are in rank from the worse to better: Nafs al-Ammara Bissu' (the Nafs that urges evil), Nafs al-Lawwama (the Nafs that Blames) and Nafs al-Mutma`inna (the Nafs at Peace). A summary of these states of the Nafs are given by Imam Tabari in his Tafsir of Surah Yusuf verse 53: 1. Nafs al-Ammara Bissu' (The Soul which Commands): This is the Nafs that brings punishment itself. By its very nature it directs its owner towards every wrong action. No one can get rid of its evil without the help from Allah. As Allah refers to this Nafs in the story of the wife of al-Aziz (Zulaikha) and Prophet Yusuf (s): The (human) soul is certainly prone to evil (12:53). Allah also says: And had it not been for the grace of Allah and His Mercy on you, not one of you would ever have been pure; but Allah purifies whomever He wishes, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing. (24:21) This Nafs resides in the world of the senses and is dominated by earthly desires (Shahwat) and passions.. Evil lies hidden in the Nafs and it is this that leads it on to do wrong. If Allah were to leave the servant alone with his self, the servant would be destroyed between its evil and the evil that it craves; but if Allah grants him success and help, then he will survive. We seek refuge in Allah the Almighty, both from the evil in ourselves and from the evil of our actions. 2. Nafs al-Lawwama (the Soul that Blames): Allah refers to this Nafs, And I do call to witness the Nafs that blames (75:2). This Nafs is conscious of its own imperfections. Hasan al-Basri said, You always see the believer blaming himself and saying things like 'Did I want this? Why did I do that? Was this better than that?.. 3. Nafs al-Mutma`inna (the Soul at Peace): Allah refers to this Nafs, O Self, in complete rest and satisfaction! (89:27). This Nafs is tranquil as it rests on the certitude of Allah. Ibn Abbas (r) said, It is the tranquil and believing soul. Al-Qatadah (r) said, It is the soul of the believer, made calm by what Allah has promised. Its owner is at rest and content with his knowledge of Allah's Names and Attributes, and with what He has said about Himself and His Messenger(sallallahu alaiyhi wasallam ) , and with what He has said about what awaits the soul after death: about the departure of the soul, the life in the Barzakh, and the events of the Day of Qiyamah which will follow. So much so that a believer such as this can almost see them with his own eyes. So he submits to the will of Allah

Happiness
Am I happy? If there is any sadness I make a strong effort to be free of it
quickly, otherwise it grows like a vine in the rainy season: by midday I will
be confused; by evening a whole jungle of weak, wasteful and negative attitudes
will have taken deep roots in my mind. The result equals chaos. Sometimes I
reach a stage where the attitude is: So what if I feel the blues today? It is
my life; no one else will be affected. Firstly, the more I allow myself to
experience sorrow, the less time I have available to be happy and contented. It
sounds ridiculously obvious, but am I aware of the value of happiness? It is an
extremely rare commodity, and the cost goes sky high. Secondly, is it my life?
Yes, I am living it, but am I not a member of a family or a co-worker with
others, and am I not part of society? If so, then every movement affects and is
affected by those around me.

This is a silent reminder that even on the day of celebration and happiness a Muslim can never forget Allah Azza Wajal. A Muslim does not remember Allah only on auspicious days or nights. Allah has to be in our hearts and minds perpetually, during times of sadness and happiness, during difficulty and ease. The Eid Salaah teaches us that the spirit and training during the month of Ramadhaan must not be wasted after the great month ends, by indulging in sin. Although the warmth and barakah of Ramadhaan has left us we should remain strong the steadfast against Shaitaan. The Quran gives the example of a foolish woman in Makkah who used to spin cotton during the day and then undo all her effort at night. And be not like her who undoes the thread which she has spun after it has become strong. (Surah Nahal, Verse 92) If during Ramadhaan Salaah was performed punctually, why should Salaah be discarded after Ramadhaan is over? If in Ramadhaan the television was switched off , why should it be switched on after Eid? If sinful places were avoided during Ramadhaan why should they be frequented after Ramadhaan? If during Ramadhaan the Quran was in our hands and on our tongues why should the Quran be returned to the shelf after Ramadhaan? May Allah keep us steadfast and may He grant us death on Imaan. Aameen. Six Fasts in the Month of Shawwaal The Prophet, Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: Whoever completes the fasts of Ramadhaan then adds to them the fast of six days in the month of Shawwaal, it will be like fasting for the whole year. (Sahih Muslim) This hadith describes the great reward of six extra fasts in the month of Shawwaal. These six fasts should preferably be kept immediately after the day of Eid. However, if they are kept later during the month it is hoped that the reward will still be achieved. Some scholars have given a beautiful explanation of this hadith. They mention that Allah says in the Quran : He that does good shall have ten times as much to his credit. (Surah An'aam, Verse 160) Thus, the 30 fasts of Ramadhaan will be equivalent in reward to 300 and the 6 extra fasts will be equivalent to 60. The combined reward will now be 360, which equals the number of days in the Islamic year. We are treated as a collectivity - responsible as a group for any crime committed by another Muslim or done in the name of Islam. Shortly after 9/11, I wrote an article stating that Muslims have the greatest obligation to reject terrorism and political violence committed in the name of Islam. I still believe this is the case. Islam does not have a centralized authority; there is no universally recognized council of scholars or clerics who speak on behalf of all Muslims. With freedom from clerical authority, however, comes the responsibility to engage in the debate over the true meaning of Islam. Islamic law states that silence is an indication of consent. If Muslims do not reject the perverted interpretations of the Qur'an proffered by terrorists, they will have shirked their responsibility to define the real meaning of Islam. At the same time, clarifying our own position does not mean that we have to speak out against each and every statement issued by terrorists or every criminal action taken by groups claiming to represent Muslim interests. Once we have defined what we stand for, and what we stand against, then any particular action that violates those guidelines are clearly rejected by us. American Muslim organizations have made extraordinary efforts to publicize their rejection of terrorism and extremism in the name of Islam: we have organized petitions, written fatwas and position papers, distributed brochures, held conferences, organized press briefings, published op-eds, spoken on the radio and television. Still, we are asked why have moderate Muslims not spoken out against the extremists? We have spoken, but we have not been heard - primarily because good news does not get much coverage. Even worse, we have spoken, but we have not been listened to. There are many people who are ideologically opposed to Islam - to the most benign interpretation of Islam - because of their own extremist religious or political ideologies. No matter what conscientious Muslims do to live as peacefully citizens who contribute to the welfare of society, these groups will attack us and our religion. Most objectionable is what I call the non-Muslim Islamic fundamentalist. What I mean by this is a non-Muslim who applies a literalistic, decontextualized hermeneutic to the Qur'an and Islamic tradition. This is not how I read my scripture (maybe it is how they read theirs), so who are they to tell me that this is what Islam really says? Being judged as a group, rather than as individuals also means that the negative experience of one Muslim is considered to be representative of all Muslims and all of Islam. I do not deny the right of any individual to tell his or her own story. We all have that right, and I must learn from the pain, hurt and anger of women and men who were mistreated in the name of Islam. But these negative experiences are not shared by all Muslims - indeed, not by most Muslims. This is why such authors have little or no constituencies within the Muslim community - because large numbers of Muslims do not feel they represent their interests or perspectives. The burden of collective guilt, the oppressive weight of stereotyping, and the violence of hateful anti-Muslim discourse is difficult to bear. It is even more difficult to see how this affects our youth. But there is hope. Hope lies in the goodness of ordinary Americans who try to overcome their prejudices and reach out to their Muslim neighbors. Hope lies in the solidarity shown by other groups - like Japanese Americans - who have faced similar situations. Hope lies in the extraordinary moral leadership shown by many American religious leaders to guide their congregations to the path of understanding and compassion. More than anything, I see these challenges as opportunities to examine myself and my community, to see if we are responding with enough courage and moral leadership when we witness discrimination against others. Are we able to avoid burdening other groups with collective guilt? The Qur'anic revelation, no soul bears the sins of another is directed first at our community. We are all human, and all of us have to struggle with our own selfishness, prejudice and will to power. As a Muslim, my struggle for my community's rights should be only the starting point of a wider struggle - a struggle for the dignity of all people. Being a Muslim in America today means having the opportunity to work towards this goal in solidarity with compassionate individuals of all faiths and good will. Karachi - Benazir Bhutto will be guarded by 10 000 police, anti-sniper shields
and the sheer number of her own supporters when she returns home on Thursday
amid warnings of al-Qaeda attacks, officials said.
Government and security officials told AFP that police marksmen will stand
guard on rooftops and flyovers as the former premier leads a planned 18-hour
procession from Karachi airport to the mausoleum of the country's founder.
The threat of suicide bombing is there. There are two or three groups of
suicide bombers operating in Karachi, according to intelligence reports, Sindh
province home secretary Ghulam Mohammad Mohtarram told AFP.
The groups were linked to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network, Afghanistan's
hardline Taliban militia and a Pakistani pro-Taliban militant leader who has
reportedly threatened to welcome Bhutto with suicide bombers, he said.
Whatever we can we will do for the protection of Benazir Bhutto. The person of
Benazir Bhutto will be covered. But it will be very difficult to prevent such
bombings if they happen in the mob.
Her Pakistan People's Party (PPP), however, said it expected that Bhutto would
in fact be protected by the one million supporters it estimates will flood the
streets on her homecoming.

Bhutto herself will be surrounded by three separate security cordons, the
official said.
The outermost will prevent all access to Bhutto's lorry and about ten cars for
her senior party workers. In the second, plain-clothed and uniformed officers
will ride in and among the party cars.
'Islam forbids suicide bombings'
And the innermost cordon will be security officials with Bhutto on her truck.
On arrival at the huge white marble mausoleum for Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the
country's founding father, she will give a speech from behind more bullet-proof
screens.
Bhutto said earlier this week she was more worried that former army officers
could try to assassinate her than that al-Qaeda or the Taliban would launch
suicide attacks against her.
She said on Wednesday in Dubai: I don't believe that a true Muslim will make
an attack on me... Islam forbids suicide bombings.
Bhutto's own family has been scarred by violence.
Her brother Murtaza Bhutto was shot dead in a murky attack in Karachi in 1996
that Benazir Bhutto blamed on groups linked to Pakistani intelligence.
Her father, prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, was himself hanged in 1979 by
military dictator Zia-ul-Haq.
