Mother's milk is the best for the babies. A baby who feeds on mother's milk has fewer problems of stomach upsets, less diarrhea, and almost no constipation. He will also have less skin trouble. Breast milk is the best food for a newborn; nothing comes even closer to provide all the nutrients that the baby will need later in life. Breast milk is much easier to digest then any formula in the market, at the same time it provides protection against infections, prevents future food allergies, helps the growth of healthy teeth, and most important it improves brain development. Breast-feeding not only benefits the child but also to the health of the mother. The pelvic organs will return to normal more quickly, and skin will glow. This is one of nature's ways to keep a woman young and beautiful. Breast-feeding is much easier than other formulas and bottles. Breast engorgement is a common problem that occurs in the feeding mothers in the first two or three weeks after delivery and is more annoying to women with poor skin elasticity. Engorgement is due to increase in the milk filling the breast together with blood and fluid retention in the same area. Usually the breast feels full, hard, tight, tender, painful, and hot to the touch and a fever may develop, the baby may have a hard time to suck. Plugged duct is a problem that occurs when the baby does not empty the breast completely on each feeding, the milk remaining in the duct hardens and blocks the duct eventually plugging it. Tight bras can cause plugged ducts as well. If the breast feels sore it might be a sign of plugged ducts. Feeding the child in the wrong position can crack nipples. HOME REMEDIES FOR BREAST FEEDING PROBLEMS If your breasts become swollen and painful, apply warm, moist packs two or three times a day. If the nipples become sore, carefully sponge them with rubbing alcohol, and then rinse with clean water. Change the position of child at each feeding. Rotate between various holds like the cradle, football, and laying down to find the most comfortable positions for yourself. Use pillows to bring the baby up to the height of your breast to reduce tugging and pulling on your nipple. Eat alfalfa to stimulate the milk production or to increase the quantity of milk in the breasts. Midwives have used goat's rue for hundreds of years to improve breast milk production by as much as 50%. Take a handful of Confrey leaves and steam them for a few minutes wrapped in gauze and placed on the breast is very helpful relieving engorgement. Soak a towel in hot water and place it on the breast ten minutes before feeding. Give your baby frequent feeds on both breast 10 to 15 minutes each. Check your nipples every day, if you see dry milk on them or dark dots remove them with a cotton and warm water and feed your child as soon as possible from that breast. Place the baby in different positions every time, this will ensure that all ducts are being used. Elder is used to reduce swelling of breast infected with mastitis. Take plenty of rest during day. Drink large amount of fluids. Gently keep some green cabbage leaves in your bra for 2 hours. This will relieve the engorgement of breast and this is an effective home remedy for breasts. Apply some tea bags on the sore nipples. It will help to reduce the pain of the sore nipples. Keep your nipples dry and expose them to air whenever you can. You might try drying them with low heat from a hair dryer. Applying a small amount of breast milk when you are done nursing, then letting it air-dry before covering yourself up might help. Avoid using soap on your breasts. It can be very drying. Prepare a solution of salt and water (1/4 teaspoon of salt per cup of water) and soak your nipples for 15 minutes or so between feeding. this is also an effective home remedy for breasts feeding. Massage the lump on your breast firmly between and during feedings. Sleep as much as possible. Vigorous arm movements may help loosen up the blockage. Chaste tree increases flow of milk, by affecting pituitary's prolactin secretion. Milk thistle promotes production of milk and decreases pesticide residues in breast and milk. Soak oneâhalf cup (regular) barley in three cups cold water overnight, or boil the barley and water for 25 minutes. Strain out barley. Store barley water in refrigerator or cool place until needed. Then heat a cup or two to boiling and add fennel seeds - one teaspoon per cup of barley water. Steep for no longer than 30 minutes. This combination not only increases the breast milk, but also

In the public sphere responsibility for the instability of Gaza and the general Palestinian political malaise is placed either on Fatah's corruption in leadership or on Hamas' violent tendencies while seizing control of the Gaza Strip and during its consequent rule. Such a stance is feeding into the dichotomous derision of the rival Palestinian parties' rhetoric. Both Hamas and Fatah must bare responsibility for their action and inaction. Meanwhile, unless the International Community pressures Israel to put an end to human rights abuses carried out against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank the milieu for any compromise between Hamas and Fatah remains unattainable. In mid-June of this year Hamas carried out a military takeover of the Gaza Strip that, although ruthless and shocking to many Gazans, can be argued to have been justified in political terms. Fatah, the sole representative of the Palestinian people since taking the helm of the Palestinian Liberation Organization in the late 60s had long gone too far; its time of reckoning had come. After Arafat conceded to the recognition of Israel at Oslo, the PLO's official framework shifted from one of Palestinian liberation through resistance to the acceptance of the status quo. It is hard to say if a dim glimmer of hope of ending the crisis or an uncontrollable desire for quick fix legitimacy caused the change of heart. What is certain is that the hope for any change of the conflict turned out to be nonexistent. In exchange for the PLO's transformation aid money poured in, a reward for consent or acquiescence. In a non-state some form of state institutionalization began to take place. Eventually this cash cow, requiring rare accountability, was the straw that broke the camel's back. Arafat and his compatriots transformed from leaders of a resistance to fat cats, became owners of fancy homes, factories and companies with the help of monies meant to relieve and somehow compensate Palestinian suffering. In the 70s Palestinian almost meant Fathawi (i.e. a member of Fatah or affiliated with that political party even if loosely). But over the course of the next 30 years disillusionment set in and the call for change grew increasingly. While Fatah officials pocketed the cream of Palestinian aid, Hamas tended to the population's growing needs and gained a following. Elections in early 2006 were the litmus test. To the world's surprise, or so it seemed, Hamas, having finally entered the democratic process, ended up victorious in parliamentary elections. After forming a democratically elected government a test of another kind followed. The Palestinians had crossed the 'democracy' hurdle, a Western, modern requirement for a more integrated Middle East, yet the world would not recognize the results of the elections they had so vehemently called for. And here lies really the crux of the matter. It seems the inventors of a game can also change its rules, and the Palestinians have had to pay dearly for rejecting acquiescence, this time round to the evolving rules of democracy. Following elections Fatah rejected entering into a coalition with Hamas. Instead they claimed that they would hand over the reigns of power, cede all responsibility to their rivals in order to reform their ailing party. Contrary to such statements, police, border guards and security forces remained under Fatah control. Further steps were taken to undermine the elected Hamas leadership. Meanwhile with the boycott of the newly elected government donor funds were frozen, pulling the carpet out from beneath the Palestinian Authority structure. Government employees making up a third of Gaza's workforce, who were largely Fatah affiliated, the party being the source of their paychecks, acted as a potentially defiant force against Hamas. Fatah continued to control the streets, prisons and borders, and more importantly quietly began covert efforts at organized chaos and violence in order to undermine Hamas' rule in the Gaza Strip. LAHORE - After gambling for long on embattled President Pervez Musharraf, former premier Benazir Bhutto changed hearts on Tuesday, November 13, reaching out to their traditional rivals, Islamic religious parties and former premier Nawaz Sharif. Bhutto surprised political circles by phoning Qazi Hussein Ahmad, the President of the powerful six-party religious alliance Muttehida Majlis-e-Amal and leader of Jamaat-i-Islami, who she used to dub as a religious extremist. Bhutto and Qazi Hussain agreed to forge an alliance on a single point agenda to restore the constitution and oust the military regime, Amir-ul-Azim, Secretary Information of Jammat-e-Islami, told IslamOnline.net. She told him that the time has come when all the democratic forces should wage a joint struggle to oust the military regime instead of launching individual campaigns. Earlier Tuesday Bhutto signaled a dramatic U turn on relations with Musharraf, asking him to step down both as president and army chief. She even ruled out any possible power-sharing deal with him. I can't serve as prime minister with General Musharraf as president because he has pitched armed forces against the people of Pakistan, making it impossible for me to go along with him, Bhutto told reporters. She indicated that her Pakistan People's Party may boycott the general elections, scheduled to be held before January 9. The two-time former premier said she wanted an alliance with other opposition leaders, including Sharif and the MMA. The 360-degree change poured cold waters on Washington's hopes of a Musharraf-Bhutto alliance against religious forces in the South Asian Muslim state. Joint Front Welcoming Bhutto's offer, the MMA expressed his consent to wage a joint struggle for the restoration of the constitution suspended by Musharraf. Qazi Hussein has welcomed the change in Bhutto's policy and told her that the MMA will support every effort to dislodge the military ruler, Amir-ul-Azim told IOL. The two leaders have agreed to convene a joint meeting of all the opposition parties - formally or informally- to form an alliance within next few day. He added that the MMA leader was very happy Bhutto still recognizes sacked Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudry as head of the judiciary. Chaudry, who has been a throne in Musharraf's side since March, has urged the people of Pakistan to rise up to defend their constitution against Musharraf. His call has been heartily embraced by lawyers who have recently emerged as the guardian of democracy and judicial independence. Bhutto told Al-Jazeera news channel Tuesday she tried to phone former premier Sharif, sent by Musharraf to exile in Saudi Arabia a few hours after he returned in September with the power of a Supreme Court verdict. Bhutto said she was not able to talk directly to Sharif, an old rival, but managed to talk to one of his party's senior leaders. Pundits believe that the U turn in Bhutto's position was the result of ongoing struggle for an independent judiciary and pressure from within her own party. He believes Bhutto came under immense pressure from her PPP party. She has finally realized the fact that a deal with the General will be a kiss of death for her. Hyder contends that when Bhutto was negotiating a power-sharing deal with Musharraf from her London exile she was not aware of the realities on the ground. The PPP workers are democratic by nature. They cannot go with a military dictator. Hyder says that the poor reception Bhutto got on her arrival in the eastern city of Lahore, a PPP stronghold, was a clear message. This is a very important development as a democratic leader has returned to her natural place, agrees Ghazi Slahuddin, a Karachi-based analyst. He told IOL that Ms Bhutto has come to the realization that Musharraf's days in power are numbered. She is a wise politician and cannot sit in a sinking boat. Slahuddin welcomed Bhutto's efforts to reach out to other opposition leaders in the country.
