Salamu Alikom,

This site is extremely beautiful and beneficial. I love the
stories and how everyone gets to input their thoughts about the Qu'ran.
MashAllah it's a wonderful idea, and May Allah reward you guys for creating
this site. I just have one thing, it's just a great deed but my only problem
is the name. Qu'ran and Jam, usually meaning music, really don't go
together. I'm really sorry but it's because I love this site so much that's
why i'm just giving my advice. I want to tell my friends about the site but
I can't tell them Qu'ran Jam in the same sentence, they would think i'm
mocking the Qu'ran. I really hope no one got offended and I'm Sorry once

WASHINGTON (AP) — A former congressman and delegate to the United Nations was
indicted Wednesday as part of a terrorist fundraising ring that allegedly sent
more than $130,000 to an al-Qaida and Taliban supporter who has threatened U.S.
and international troops in Afghanistan.

The former Republican congressman from Michigan, Mark Deli Siljander, was
charged with money laundering, conspiracy and obstructing justice for allegedly
lying about lobbying senators on behalf of an Islamic charity that authorities
said was secretly sending funds to terrorists.

A 42-count indictment, unsealed in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Mo.,
accuses the Islamic American Relief Agency of paying Siljander $50,000 for the
lobbying — money that turned out to be stolen from the U.S. Agency for
International Development.

Siljander, who served two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, was
appointed by President Reagan to serve as a U.S. delegate to the United Nations
for one year in 1987.

Bismillah [IslamCity] Health and Behaviour: Scientific Study Finds Fluoride Horror Stories Factual

Scientific Study Finds Fluoride Horror Stories Factual
Industrial by-product consumed by millions of Americans lowers IQ, causes cancer

  Paul Joseph Watson
  Prison Planet
  Tuesday, January 15, 2008

The establishment media will have to find a new tactic with which to ridicule
those who oppose the fluoridation of water after a major new Scientific
American report concluded that Scientific attitudes toward fluoridation may be
starting to shift as new evidence emerges of the poison's link to disorders
affecting teeth, bones, the brain and the thyroid gland, as well as lowering IQ.

Today almost 60 percent of the U.S. population drinks fluoridated water,
including residents of 46 of the nation's 50 largest cities, reports
Scientific American's Dan Fagin.

Fagin is an award-wining environmental reporter and Director of New York
University's Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program.

Outside the U.S., fluoridation has spread to Canada, the U.K., Australia, New
Zealand and a few other countries. Critics of the practice have generally been
dismissed as gadflies or zealots by mainstream researchers and public health
agencies in those countries as well as the U.S. (In other nations, however,
water fluoridation is rare and controversial.)

Indeed, the zeitgeist for scoffing at those who spoke of the dangers of mass
medicating the public against their will with fluoride was the deranged and
paranoid character of General Ripper in the hit 1964 Peter Selllers movie Dr.
Strangelove.

But that stereotype is quickly fading as serious scientific research uncovers
proof that all the horror stories about sodium fluoride told down the decades
are essentially true.

The Scientific American study Concluded that fluoride can subtly alter
endocrine function, especially in the thyroid -- the gland that produces
hormones regulating growth and metabolism.

The report also notes that a series of epidemiological studies in China have
associated high fluoride exposures with lower IQ.

Epidemiological studies and tests on lab animals suggest that high fluoride
exposure increases the risk of bone fracture, especially in vulnerable
populations such as the elderly and diabetics, writes Fagin.

Fagin interviewed Steven Levy, director of the Iowa Fluoride Study which
tracked about 700 Iowa children for sixteen years. Nine-year-old Iowa children
who lived in communities where the water was fluoridated were 50 percent more
likely to have mild fluorosis... than [nine-year-old] children living in
nonfluoridated areas of the state, writes Fagin.

The study adds to a growing literature of shocking scientific studies proving
fluoride's link with all manner of health defects, even as governments in the
west, including recently the UK, make plans to mass medicate the population
against their will with this deadly toxin.

In 2005, a study conducted at the Harvard School of Dental Health found that
fluoride in tap water directly contributes to causing bone cancer in young boys.

New American research suggests that boys exposed to fluoride between the ages
of five and 10 will suffer an increased rate of osteosarcoma - bone cancer -
between the ages of 10 and 19, according to a London Observer article about
the study.

Based on the findings of the study, the respected Environmental Working Group
lobbied to have fluoride in tap water be added to the US government's
classified list of substances known or anticipated to cause cancer in humans.

Cancer rates in the U.S. have skyrocketed with one in three people now
contracting the disease at some stage in their life.

The link to bone cancer has also been discovered by other scientists, but a
controversy ensued after it emerged that Harvard Professor Chester Douglass,
who downplayed the connection in his final report, was in fact editor-in-chief
of The Colgate Oral Health Report, a quarterly newsletter funded by
Colgate-Palmolive Co., which makes fluoridated toothpaste.

An August 2006 Chinese study found that fluoride in drinking water damages
children's liver and kidney functions.

FACTS ABOUT FLUORIDE

- Fluoride is a waste by-product of the fertilizer and aluminum industry and
it's also a Part II Poison under the UK Poisons Act 1972.

- Fluoride is one of the basic ingredients in both PROZAC (FLUoxetene
Hydrochloride) and Sarin nerve gas (Isopropyl-Methyl-Phosphoryl FLUoride).

- USAF Major George R. Jordan testified before Un-American Activity committees
of Congress in the 1950's that in his post as U.S.-Soviet liaison officer, the
Soviets openly admitted to Using the fluoride in the water supplies in their
concentration camps, to make the prisoners stupid, docile, and subservient.

- The first occurrence of fluoridated drinking water on Earth was found in
Germany's Nazi prison camps. The Gestapo had little concern about fluoride's
supposed effect on

Bismillah [IslamCity] ruling: Things that decrease/increase faith

2008-01-18 Thread Shahid
  10809
Question # 10809: What are the things that make faith decrease?

 Question:

What are the things that make faith decrease?

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

The things that make faith decrease are as follows:

1. Ignorance of the names and attributes of Allaah makes a
decrease in faith inevitable, because if a man is lacking in knowledge of the
names and attributes of Allaah, he will be lacking in faith.

2. Neglecting to think about the signs of Allaah in the
universe and the signs of sharee'ah (i.e., verses of the Qur'aan and miracles
of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), etc.). This causes
a decrease in faith or at the very least it causes it to stagnate and not grow.

3. Committing sins, because sin has a profound effect on the
heart and on faith. Hence the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon
him) said: The adulterer at the time when he is committing adultery is not a
believer.

4. Neglecting to do acts of worship, because neglecting to do
acts of worship causes a decrease in faith. But if the act of worship is
obligatory and a person neglects it with no excuse, then he is to be blamed and
deserves punishment. If the act of worship is not obligatory, or it is
obligatory but a person does not do it for a valid reason, then he is lacking
but is not to be blamed. Hence the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be
upon him) described women as lacking in reason and in religion, and he
explained their lacking in religion as being because of the fact that when they
menstruate, they do not pray or fast. But they are not to be blamed for not
praying or fasting during their menstruation; rather they are commanded not to
do these things at that time. But because they miss out on doing some of the
things that men do, they are regarded as lacking in this regard.

  10776
Question # 10776: What are the means of increasing faith?

 Question:

What are the means of increasing faith?

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

There are several means of increasing faith:

The first means is learning about Allaah through His names and attributes. The
more a person learns about Allaah through His names and attributes, the more he
will increase in faith, without a doubt. Hence you find that the scholars who
know more about the names and attributes of Allaah than others do, are stronger
in faith than others in this regard.

The second means is looking at the signs of Allaah in the universe and the
signs of sharee'ah (i.e., verses of the Qur'aan and miracles of the Prophet
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), etc.). The more a person looks at
the signs of Allaah in the universe, the more he increases in faith. Allaah
says (interpretation of the meaning):

And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty. And also
in your ownselves. Will you not then see? [al-Dhaariyaat 51:20-21]

The verses which indicate that are many, I mean the verses which indicate that
by pondering and thinking about this universe, man can increase in faith.

The third means is doing many acts of worship, for the more acts of worship a
person does, the more he will increase in faith thereby, whether those acts of
worship involve words or actions. So dhikr increases faith in quantity and
quality, and prayer, fasting and Hajj also increase faith in quantity and
quality.

Bismillah [IslamCity] Islamic Jesus

2008-01-18 Thread G.Waleed Kavalec
The passion for Christ: 'Islamic Jesus' hits Iranian theatres
15 Jan 2008, hrs IST,AFP

TEHRAN: A director who shares the ideas of Iran's hardline president has
produced what he says is the first film giving an Islamic view of Jesus
Christ, in a bid to show the common ground between Muslims and Christians.

Nader Talebzadeh sees his movie, Jesus, the Spirit of God , as an Islamic
answer to Western productions like Mel Gibson's 2004 blockbuster The
Passion of the Christ , which he praised as admirable but quite simply
wrong.

Gibson's film is a very good film. I mean that it is a well-crafted movie
but the story is wrong - it was not like that, he said, referring to two
key differences: Islam sees Jesus as a prophet, not the son of God, and does
not believe he was crucified.
Talebzadeh said he even went to Gibson's mansion in Malibu, California, to
show him his film. But, it was Sunday and the security at the gate received
the film and the brochure and promised to deliver it, though the Iranian
never heard back.

Even in Iran, Jesus, The Spirit of God had a low-key reception, playing
to moderate audiences in five Tehran cinemas during the holy month of
Ramadan, in October.

The film, funded by state broadcasting, faded off the billboards but is far
from dead, about to be recycled in a major 20 episode spin-off to be
broadcast over state-run national television this year.

Talebzadeh insists it aims to bridge differences between Christianity and
Islam, despite the stark divergence from Christian doctrine about Christ's
final hours on earth.

It is fascinating for Christians to know that Islam gives such devotion to
and has so much knowledge about Jesus, Talebzadeh said.

By making this film I wanted to make a bridge between Christianity and
Islam, to open the door for dialogue since there is much common ground
between Islam and Christianity, he said.

Re: Bismillah [IslamCity] Imagine a world without Islam!

2008-01-18 Thread Rashid Samnakay
Is this question koshar?
“Imagine a world without Islam?”

Islam is only an ‘Arabic’ word for all laws natural and operating according to
the fixed systems of nature. Therefore the question with or without is
illogical and ‘religious’.
In the sphere of human activity, the outcomes of those activities are fixed and
therefore the good or bad results can only be attributed to mankind’s actions
as he/she is intellectually free to act.
Birds (not all) are made to fly and humans are not, but with the ‘knowledge’
and freedom to apply that knowledge (as Wright brothers did) human can fly,
even faster than the fastest bird—except in religion, not as fast as the
Burraaq of the ancient lore. Nothing beats religious fancies!
The question should be 'imagine a world without Human values (and standards)?

Imagine a world without Islam!

Take away Islam, and the world would still be left with the main forces that
drive today's conflicts, including colonialism, cross-national ideologies,
ethnic conflicts and terrorism, says Graham Fuller, a former Vice-Chairman of
the National Intelligence Council at the CIA in charge of long-range strategic
forecasting and currently a professor of history at Simon Fraser University in
Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada).

In his article entitled A World Without Islam, published in Foreign Policy,
Fuller believes that given our intense current focus on terrorism, war, and
rampant anti-Americanism it's vital to understand the true sources of these
crises. He poses a question, is Islam the source of the problem or does it tend
to lie with other less obvious and deeper factors?

Fuller presents his thoughts on Islam in an extended game of what if. What if
Islam had never arisen in the Middle East? What if there had never been a
Prophet Mohammed, no saga of the spread of Islam across vast parts of the
Middle East, Asia, and Africa? Would there still be violent clashes between the
West and that part of the world? Would the Middle East be more peaceful? How
different might the character of East-West relations be?

Fuller ponders a litany of history's major battles and events to drive home his
message that while Islam might be a convenient culprit, but global strife, past
and present, can't be blamed on any one religion. Europeans would still have
wanted the spoils of the Middle East and launched the Crusades albeit under a
different banner. After all, what were the Crusades if not a Western adventure
driven primarily by political, social, and economic needs? The banner of
Christianity was little more than a potent symbol, a rallying cry to bless the
more secular urges of powerful Europeans. In fact, the particular religion of
the natives never figured highly in the West's imperial push across the globe.
Europe may have spoken upliftingly about bringing Christian values to the
natives, but the patent goal was to establish colonial outposts as sources of
wealth for the metropole and bases for Western power projection.

And so it's unlikely that Christian inhabitants of the Middle East would have
welcomed the stream of European fleets and their merchants backed by Western
guns, he says adding that Imperialism would have prospered in the region's
complex ethnic mosaic--the raw materials for the old game of divide and rule.
And Europeans still would have installed the same pliable local rulers to
accommodate their needs. We doublespeak about promoting democracy in the Middle
East as we back autocratic, despotic and undemocratic client regimes there.

On the U.S. occupation of Iraq, he says that it would not have been welcome by
Iraqis even if they were Christian. Fuller points out that the United States
did not overthrow Saddam Hussein, an intensely nationalist and secular leader,
because he was Muslim and other Arab peoples would still have supported the
Iraqi Arabs in their trauma of occupation. Nowhere do people welcome foreign
occupation and the killing of their citizens at the hands of foreign troops.
Indeed, groups threatened by such outside forces invariably cast about for
appropriate ideologies to justify and glorify their resistance struggle.
Religion is one such ideology.

The West still would have tried various ways to get control of oil-rich areas,
according to Fuller. But Middle Eastern Christians would not have welcomed
imperial Western oil companies, backed by their European vice-regents,
diplomats, intelligence agents, and armies, any

Compassion
A compassionate person develops an eye for spotting the qualities that make
each person special. Even when others are at their lowest ebb, it is possible
to help them restore their self-belief by keeping a firm, clear vision of their
goodness and specialities. Taking a gently encouraging approach, I must never
give up on anyone.

India Muslims Review Unjust 2007
By Mubasshir Ahmed, IOL Correspondent
Unfortunately in 2007, the pace of judiciary was slow, Anand said.
NEW DELHI — For Muslims in Asian heavyweight India, 2007 will be remembered as
a year of injustice, both politically and economically. Unfortunately in 2007,
the pace of judiciary was slow, Javed Anand of Muslims for Secular Democracy
(MSD) told IslamOnline.net.
He cited the complete ignorance of the recommendations put forward by the Sri
Krishna Commission, set up to probe the 1992-93 Mumbai riots.
Anand said although the report blamed trigger-happy Hindu police officials
for the violence nothing has happened.
There has not been any progress at all, fumed the Mumbai-based politician.
Mustafa Khan, a university professor, also complained of lame justice.
The year 2007 will go down as a dark year for the Muslims of India, he said.
He cited the August ruling in the 1993 Mumbai blasts where the court slapped
death sentences against 12 Muslims accused in the bombings that followed
violent anti-Muslim riots.
In a sharp contrast, Hindus involved in the massacre of the Muslim prior to
bomb blasts have not been even tried in the court of law.
The blasts were seen as the direct effect of the demolition of the Babri Masjid
in Ayodha and the anti-Muslim riots that followed in Mumbai, the commercial
capital of India.
Another example of injustices in 2007 was the manifested in the Muslim-majority
rural area of Nandigram in West Bengal state.
A project by the local government to establish Special Economic Zones (SEZs)
became a nightmare for Muslim residents who were forcibly evicted from their
land and murdered in order to welcome multi-national companies.
The state of West Bengal saw a communist government supporters raping and
killing people of whom the overwhelming majority is Muslim and virtually taking
over their land and property with impunity, professor Khan charges.
Gujarat
The election in the religiously-divided southern state of Gujarat was also bad
news for Muslims in 2007.
Renewed political life of Narendra Modi is not a healthy sign for Muslims,
maintains Anand.
Munawwar Pheerbhoy, the chairman of Mohammed Azam Education Trust (Pune),
agrees.
It shows that communal forces are raising their ugly heads once again.
Polarization is not good for Gandhi’s India.
Hindu nationalist leader Modi has been reelected as chief minister of Gujarat.
Modi and his Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) have been blamed for stoking
anti-Muslim riots in 2002.
He was censured by India's Supreme Court as a modern Nero.
In October, a weekly magazine released a series of videotaped confessions of
Hindu activists bragging about Modi support for the carnage that claimed the
lives of up to 2,500 people, mostly Muslims.
Gujarat saw the rapists and murderers of Muslims…appearing on television and
confessing how they raped and killed Muslims, burnt and looted their houses and
shops, noted professor Khan.
After their boasting of the crimes of genocide, they still move around freely.
It’s so disturbing.
Economic Paradise
[The] Government has been high on promises and short on delivery, Akbar told
IOL.
M.J. Akbar, editor-in-chief of The Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle, complains
that Muslims are suffering from economic discrimination.
[The] Government has been high on promises and short on delivery, he told IOL.
It is as if because they have been permitted to survive and vote, they do not
deserve anything more.
Akbar, an ex-lawmaker who was spokesman of late premier Rajiv Gandhi, notes
that 2007 was the year of booming economy for India.
Although Muslims played a key role in achieving this economic miracle, he
add, they lived in absolute poverty and struggled to make ends meet.
The young Muslims of Bengal…are feeling totally alienated from economic
growth, Akbar cites as a case in point.
India's some 140 million Muslims have suffered decades of social and economic
neglect and oppression.
They are under-represented in public sector jobs, register lower educational
levels and, as a consequence, higher unemployment rates than the majority
Hindus and other minorities like Christians and Sikhs.
Akbar regrets that a Muslim child of 1992 has grown up watching India turn into
turning someone else’s paradise.
No one has sent him an entry ticket to that paradise. He has not even been
allowed to smell the flavor of the gate.
He has been told, implicitly, to content himself with squalor while others on
the same level as him have begun to take tentative steps towards new horizons.

Dear all,

Dr. (Medical doctor) Zakir naik has no correct knowledge of Aqeedah and
Manhaj. It is advisable to avoid spreading his deviation without knowledge.

Hope from the following site we can learn a lot about the deviation of Zakir
naik and the advice of the great Scholars regarding his issues (Masha
Allah). Therefore it is advisable to stick to the advice of the Ulamas
(Scholars) of Ahlus Sunnah waljama to hold fast to the truth instead of
falling into deviation and confusion.

Well, brother, your effort is commendable, but, please do not base your
argument on REORTS. You obviously should know how murky can media REPORTS
get.

I am a witness to the argument provided by Zakir Naik on Sania Mirza and
never once did he even imply that her short attire could be ignored. Infact
he quite clearly said that it was wrong.

In the Name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful

Assalaamu alaykum,

In a news item, sometime back, Dr Zakir Naik, the renowned Islamic scholar,
is reported to have said, Everyone has different levels of modesty. There
were tennis players who wore long skirt! s and performed just as well. But
personally, I support Sania Mirza as she prays five times a day, so the
skirts she wears can be ignored.

I admire the Doctor and often listen to his speeches. But that should not
mean that everything he says is sacrosanct. He is human after all, and prone
to errors. Let us therefore examine his reported quote in Qur'aanic light
and see whether it is in conformity with the divine guidance. For, the
Qur'aan calls those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed as
suppressors of Truth, oppressors and transgressors [refer Verses 5.44, 5.45
and 5.47].

Allah has indeed given mankind the freedom, in this life, not to go by the
way laid down in the Qur'aan. By giving the freedom, Allah is only testing
mankind. So is Sania Mirza being tested. If she fails the test, the
responsibility for the consequences is entirely hers. But the matter of
punishing her, for any breach of the divinely laid down dress code, lies
with Allah. Since she comes from a country, and goes to such countries to
play tennis, which have nothing against her dress in their penal codes,
Muslims can do nothing legal to prevent her from wearing her short dress.

Nevertheless, since Sania Mirza has gained fame and wealth, she has become
an icon, and her actions are liable to be copied by others. Other Muslim
girls may think, if Sania Mirza can do it, why not they? Muslim scholars are
therefore duty-bound to examine her actions, and publicly condemn them if
they are against divine stipulations.

Verse 24.31 clearly lays down that a woman should so cover her body as not
to display its charm in public. She is moreover asked, in that Verse, not to
stamp her feet so as to reveal her hidden charm. As anyone can see, Sania
Mirza, playing in full public glare with her short body-clinging dress, is
clearly contravening those divine stipulations. Muslim scholars a! re
duty-bound to bring this fact to the notice of all Muslims the world over,
although they are in no position to prevent her from continuing to play
thus.

In the circumstances, it is surprising that an eminent Islamic scholar like
Dr Zakir Naik should say the skirts, Sania wears, can be ignored. She may be
praying five times a day, but Allah condemns those who obey some divine
stipulations, and disobey others [refer Verse 2.85].
