Our Mission:

Our mission is to gather in one place, for the English-speaking public, all
relevant information needed to make the Qur'an more understandable and
easier to study. This book tries to do this by providing the following:

1. The Arabic Text for those who are able to read Arabic

2. Transliteration of the Arabic text for those who are unable to read the 
Arabic script. This will give them a sample of the sound of the Qur'an, which 
they could not otherwise comprehend from reading the English meaning.

3. The meaning of the qur'an (translated by Dr. Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din Al-Hilali, 
Ph.D. and Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan)

4. Background introductions by two famous Islamic scholars, Maududi and Ibn 
Kathir

5. Explanation (abridged Tafsir) by Ibn Kathir (translated by Safi-ur-Rahman 
al-Mubarakpuri)

We hope that by doing this an ordinary English-speaker will be able to pick up 
a copy of this book and study and comprehend The Glorious Qur’an in a way that 
is acceptable to the understanding of the Rightly-guided Muslim Ummah 
(Community).

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: By Allah, if 
Allah guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of 
camels. [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim] 

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)  also said, Whoever 
calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who 
follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all.

  The Media is the most powerful tool of persuasion in our world today. 
Whatever the subject, whatever the issue, the Media has the capability to 
influence millions of hearts and minds all over the world.
   
  In an era when Islam has become a regular feature on the mass Media’s agenda, 
it becomes essential for Muslims to ensure that Islam’s representations are 
true rather than trivialised in a negative fashion.
   
  As is the case in the UK today, where due significantly to poor Media 
understanding, there are almost daily occurrences of false, disparaging and 
bias comments against Islam transmitted to millions of people. Such views are 
often aired without much challenge from Muslim voices, however the challenge is 
now with us to ensure that this trend is reversed and the true beauty of 
Allah’s deen of Islam is promoted.
   
  The aim of this e-group is to give you the opportunity to be part of the 
movement for better Islamic representation in the media. This is your chance to 
spare whatever little time you may have to help portray Islam in the proper 
way, to fulfill our duty as Muslims towards wider society.
   
Alhamdulillah there are a few Islamic organizations that have started the good 
work in media monitoring and correcting the false perceptions. However, leaving 
this task to those few organizations alone is not enough. The idea of this 
e-group is to encourage more of us, in our own capacity to write our own 
comments/feedbacks to challenge the negative bias of the media. The more of us 
write, the more we can help the wider society to better understand Islam and 
what it means to be a Muslim.
   
  You can share any mainstream website article/video link that you notice that 
has malicious or wrong information on Islam that is important for us to 
challenge via comment. And you can also share whatever you have commented to 
the fellow members here, which will help encourage more concerned Muslims to 
join and contribute for this crucial cause insha’Allah.
