An intelligent and skillful person transforms losses into profits; whereas, the
unskilled person aggravates his own predicament, often making two disasters out
of one.

Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam was compelled to leave Makkah, but rather than
quit his mission, he continued it in Madeenah - the city that took its place in
history with lightning speed.

Imam Ahmad ibn Hambal RA was severely tortured and flogged, and yet he emerged
triumphant from that ordeal, becoming the Imam of the Sunnah. Imam Ibnu
Taymiyah was put into prison; he later came out an even more accomplished
scholar than he was before. Imam As-Sarakhsi was held as a prisoner, kept at
the bottom of an unused well; he managed therein to produce twenty volumes on
Islamic jurisprudence. Ibn Atheer became crippled, after which he wrote Jami
al-Usool and An-Nihayah, two of the most famous books in the Science of Hadith.
Imam Ibn al-Jawzi RA was banished from Baghdad. Then, through his travels, he
became proficient in the seven recitations of the Qur'an. Maalik ibn ar-Rayb
was on his deathbed when he recited his most famous and beautiful poem, which
is appreciated until this day. When Abi Dhu 'aib al-Hadhali's children died
before him, he eulogized them with a poem that the world listened to and
admired.

Therefore, if you are afflicted with a misfortune, look on the bright side. If
someone were to hand you a glass full of squeezed lemons, add to it a handful
of sugar. And if someone gives you a snake as a gift, keep its precious skin
and leave the rest. "It may
be that you dislike a thing that is good for you..." (Qur'an 2: 216)

Before its violent revolution, France imprisoned two brilliant poets: one an
optimist, the other a pessimist. They both squeezed their heads through the
bars of their cell windows. The optimist then stared at the stars and laughed,
while the pessimist looked at the dirt of a neighbouring road and wept. Look at
the other side of a tragedy circumstance of pure evil does not exist, and in
all situations one can find goodness and profit and reward from Allah Taa'la.

Bismillah [IslamCity] Website to find Hotels in Madina

2008-11-17 Thread Shahid
Those going to hajj should definitely visit the site and see your hotel's
location so you don't become lost on the first time back from the masjid

Hotels in Madina anyone?

By Faraz Omar Saudi Gazette

JEDDAH - A cool new service to find hotels in Madina has been launched. The
link - www.haraj.net/madina - shows a satellite view of the city with the
Prophet’s Mosque at the center. The hotels around it are marked in color.
Simply moving your mouse over the hotels gives you the name of the hotel and
the contact details. This gives people the option to see and choose hotels
according to their proximity with the Prophet’s mosque.

The website, still at its initial stage of development, promises to offer much
more in the future.

It plans to build an online market place for visitors to find any services they
need, from the comfort of their homes or offices.

New Madinah airport to handle 30 million passengers annually

P.K. Abdul Ghafour | Arab News
JEDDAH: The huge expansion plan for Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International
Airport in Madinah, which has been approved by Custodian of the Two Holy
Mosques King Abdullah, is designed to accommodate about 30 million passengers,
mostly pilgrims, annually.

“The expansion will be carried out in three phases during a period of 30
years,” said Abdullah Al-Ruhaimy, president of the General Authority for Civil
Aviation (GACA). The first phase, which is to accommodate 12 million
passengers, will be ready by 2019.

King Abdullah inspected the expansion plan when he visited Madinah recently and
instructed GACA officials to go ahead with the massive project, which will
reduce pressure on King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, the main
gateway for foreign pilgrims. The first phase includes preparation of the
general expansion plan for the airport considering present and future
requirements, construction of a new passenger terminal covering an area of
256,000 square meters, and building of 14 air bridges.

“There will be separate passenger lounges for pilgrims, international and
domestic arrivals and departures and VIP visitors,” the GACA chief told the
Saudi Press Agency.

A Haj complex for external pilgrims will be constructed and linked with the
main passenger lounge for pilgrims, Al-Ruhaimy said. A mosque with prayer
facilities for more than 1,000 people will also be built under the plan.

A new tarmac would be constructed during the first phase while the existing
tarmac would be expanded to receive large aircraft such as A380s, Al-Ruhaimy
said. A new 87-meter air control tower, a new airport road, a security wall and
parking areas for 27 large, medium and small aircraft will also be constructed.

The second phase (2019-2029) will include construction of a new passenger
terminal covering an area of 172,000 sq. m. It will increase the airport’s
annual capacity to 18.4 million (2.8 million Haj pilgrims, 10.4 million Umrah
pilgrims and 5.2 million domestic and international passengers). It includes
construction of new runways, 10 air bridges, parking for 10 aircraft and
another “Haj Plaza” for external pilgrims.

The third phase (2029-2039) includes building of a new passenger terminal on an
area of 84,000 square meters, four air bridges, parking for 13 aircraft and new
runways. It will increase the airport’s annual capacity to 29.2 million (3.8
million Hajis, 17.8 million Umrah pilgrims and 7.6 million international and
domestic passengers.)

“Although it has been planned to complete the project in 30 years, its
implementation could be expedited depending on the demand,” he said. Al-Ruhaimy
said the GACA had already started work on the Madinah airport expansion.

*NOT MUCH SUPPORT:* Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil says no state
government has demanded a ban on Bajrang Dal.

*New Delhi:* In the face of mounting demands that Hindu fundamentalist
groups like the *Bajrang Dal* should be banned, the Union Home Ministry is
finally taking action.

Central Government has sent a strongly-worded letter to all state
governments asking them to send details of activities of the *Bajrang Dal*.

The letter says the activities of groups like the *Bajrang Dal* have
tarnished the image of the country internationally.

There are allegations of the Dal's involvement not just of communal violence
but for the first time, the *Bajrang Dal* has been linked to the recent
bomb blasts in the country, Centre says.

The Home Ministry says demand for taking legal action against not just the
Bajrang Dal but all such groups is mounting.

Speaking to CNN IBN in an exclusive interview last month, Union Home
Minister Shivraj Patil had said demands for a ban on the *Bajrang Dal* had
not been made by any state government as yet.

*"There are politicians who are making the demands, state governments have
not done that. No state government in the country has done anyting for
banning any of these,"* Patil had said.

*New Delhi: Amidst demands for a ban on Bajrang Dal, the Union Home Ministry
on Wednesday sought details of activities of the Hindutva organisation from
all states.

*In a letter to the state governments, the ministry has sought details of
the action taken by them to check their activities, a Home Ministry official
said.

Though there was no official word whether the Centre was contemplating a ban
on the organisation, as demanded by some key UPA allies, sources said such
inputs were required before declaring any organisation as outlawed.

Sources said the name of Bajrang Dal was specifically mentioned in the
letter sent by the Home Ministry.

The letter comes in the backdrop of incidents of communal violence in some
parts of the country leading to demands for strict action against
individuals and groups involved in the attacks.

"The ministry of Home Affairs has written to state governments and sought
details of the action they may have taken," the official said.

*The demand for strong action against the Hindutva organisations, including
Bajrang Dal, VHP and RSS have been made both inside and outside the ruling
UPA, with some key coalition partners demanding a ban on these groups.

*NEW FACE TO TERROR TALE: Pandey is a self-styled religious guru who ran an

*Mumbai:* The probe into the Malegaon blasts is now revealing new links to
saffron terror every day and investigators claim that the hard-line Hindu
groups have been involved in several other such blasts in the recent past.

On Wednesday, the spreading stain of saffron terror reached Uttar Pradesh
with the arrest of Dayanand Pandey by the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad from
Kanpur.

Pandey is a self styled *shankaracharya* (religious guru) who ran an ashram
in Jammu. The ATS alleges he was directly involved in the Malegaon blasts.
Sources indicate that Pandey organised a training camp for hard-line
Hindutva activists in Pune's Sinhagarh in 2003.

Investigators say Pandey was arrested after disclosures by Sadhvi Pragya
Singh Thakur and Lt Col Purohit, both of whom are under arrest.

"Pandey was with the group that was held earlier. He attended meetings with
them. He had a major role in Malegaon blasts," said Mumbai Anti-terrorism
Squad Chief, Hemant Karkare.

Police sources say they also have proof of a direct link between Purohit and
Pandey: a CD recovered from Purohit had pictures and speeches made by Pandey
and that the two, along with the Sadhvi met to plan the Malegaon blasts.

Maharashtra ATS will now move for permission to take Pandey to Mumbai for
further questioning. UP Police indicate there could be more arrests from the
state. They had also detained Pandey's chartered accountant for questioning
in Jammu.

Meanwhile, the Aurangabad court has allowed Maharashtra ATS to take one of
Malegaon accused, Rakesh Dhawade, into police custody.

Police investigators reportedly want to probe the linkages between the
Malegaon accused and their involvement in the 2004 Jalna and 2006 Nanded
blasts.

CBI investigators probing the Nanded blasts have indicated that they will
also widen the ambit of their investigations because of the possible
involvement of the same groups behind the Nanded and Malegaon blasts.

ATS arrests mutt head Dayanand Pandey

*Lucknow: A Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad team on Wednesday arrested a
seer, who heads a 'mutt' in Jammu, from Kanpur in connection with the
Malegaon blast.

*"The person arrested has been identified as Dayanand Pandey, who hails from
Uttar Pradesh," state Additional Director General, Law and Order, Brijlal
told PTI.
Pandey, he said, was the 'mathadheesh' of a 'mutt' in Jammu.

The accused is being taken to Lucknow from Kanpur, he said without
elaborating. Sources said that Pandey was allegedly in hiding in Kanpur.
Meanwhile, Bajrang Dal convenor Prakash Sharma said that Pandey had 'no
links' with his outfit.
"I am not even aware of this person. I don't know who he is. He is not a
member of Bajrang Dal," Sharma said when contacted.

The two-member ATS team had reached Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday night to probe
the Malegaon case.

Bismillah [IslamCity] Benifits and Wisdom Of Jamath

2008-11-17 Thread adil naveed

Benefits and Wisdom of Jama'at
The ulama have written considerably on this subject. But as far as I know,
there isn't a more comprehensive and eloquent article than that which has been
written by Hadrat Maulana Shah Wali Ullah rahmatullahi alayh. Although it would
have been preferable for me to quote his article word for word, for the sake of
brevity, I will merely give a summary of what he has written.
1. There is nothing more beneficial or profitable than making a particular form
of ibaadah into a second nature to the extent that that ibaadah becomes a
necessity and it becomes impossible to leave it just as it is almost impossible
to give up a particular habit. And there is no form of ibaadah greater than
salaat which could be accorded such importance.
2. In matters of religion, we find all sorts of people - the learned as well as
the ignorant. There is therefore great wisdom in this that everyone gets
together and fulfils this ibaadah in the presence of each other. If someone
makes a particular mistake, another person is there to correct him. It is as if
this ibaadah of Allah Ta'ala is a jewel and all the inspectors are examining
it: if there is any defect in it, they point it out, and if there is any merit
or excellence in it, they appreciate it. So this is an excellent means for the
perfection of salaat.
3. The position of those who do not offer their salaat will also come into the
open. In this way, one has the opportunity of advising them.
4. The gathering of a few Muslims who render an ibaadah to Allah Ta'ala and
beseech Him has a special effect for the descending of mercy and acceptance in
the sight of Allah.
5. The aim and object of Allah Ta'ala with regards to this ummah is that the
kalimah must supercede everything and that kufr must be subdued, and that no
religion must be able to overpower Islam. This can only be possible if certain
steps are adopted whereby all the Muslims - the masses, the learned, the
travellers, the inhabitants of places, the young, and the old - get together
for a particular ibaadah which is great and famous, thereby exhibiting the
grandeur and power of Islam. Because of all these merits and qualities, the
entire attention of the Shariah directed itself towards the jama'at, encouraged
it, and laid down strict prohibitions on discarding it.
6. Another benefit of the jama'at is that all the Muslims will be fully aware
of each others conditions and circumstances, and will be able to share each
others difficulties and problems. In this way, religious brotherhood and love
which is based on Imaan will be fully exhibited and consolidated. This is one
of the great objects of the Shariah and its significance and virtue has been
mentioned repeatedly in the Quran and Hadith. It is indeed sad that the
discarding of jama'at has become a norm in our times. Let alone the ignorant
masses, many learned people are also caught in this evil web. It is extremely
sad that these people read the Ahadith and even understand their meanings, but
the importance of jama'at does not have any effect on their hearts which are
harder than stone. What answer will these people give when they will stand in
front of Allah Ta'ala and all the appeals with regards to salaat will be
presented before everything else, and
investigations will commence with those who discarded salaat entirely or
partly?

Dear members,

Assalamu Alaikum We do not know what will happen .The writer is not favorable,
in fact he is warning others about the inroad of Islamic Finance in the West.

However it is clear that Islamic Finance is superior in every respect , it is
free of speculation , debt selling is not allowed in islam, interest is also
prohibited which means investment has to be in real sector.
Another evil of the West is it is now more based on debt than on income of the
consumers which is really not liked in islam.Islam asks us to pray for
protection against debt.and as a result too much consumerism and materialist
life-style is discouraged in the society.

Nov 11, 2008
GAFFNEY: Treasury submits to Shariah

Tuesday, November 4, 2008
COMMENTARY:

The U.S. Treasury Department is submitting to Shariah - the seditious
religio-political-legal code authoritative Islam seeks to impose worldwide
under a global theocracy.

As reported in this space last week, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Robert
Kimmitt set the stage with his recent visit to Saudi Arabia and other oil-rich
Persian Gulf states. His stated purpose was to promote the recycling of
petrodollars in the form of foreign investment here.

Evidently, the price demanded by his hosts is that the U.S. government get with
the Islamist financial program. While in Riyadh, Mr. Kimmitt announced: "The
U.S. government is currently studying the salient features of Islamic banking
to ascertain how far it could be useful in fighting the ongoing world economic
crisis."

"Islamic banking" is a euphemism for a practice better known as
"Shariah-Compliant Finance (SFC)." And it turns out that this week the Treasury
will be taking officials from various federal agencies literally to school on
SFC.

The department is hosting a half-day course entitled "Islamic Finance 101" on
Thursday at its headquarters building. Treasury's self-described "seminar for
the policy community" is co-sponsored with the leading academic promoters of
Shariah and SCF in the United States: Harvard University Law School's Project
on Islamic Finance. At the very least, the U.S. government evidently hopes to
emulate Harvard's success in securing immense amounts of Wahhabi money in
exchange for conforming to the Islamists' agenda. Like Harvard, Treasury seems
utterly disinterested in what Shariah actually is, and portends.

Unfortunately, such submission - the literal meaning of "Islam" - is not likely
to remain confined long to the Treasury or its sister agencies. Thanks to the
extraordinary authority conferred on Treasury since September, backed by the
$700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), the department is now in a
position to impose its embrace of Shariah on the U.S. financial sector. The
nationalization of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Treasury's purchase of - at last
count - 17 banks and the ability to provide, or withhold, funds from its new
slush-fund can translate into unprecedented coercive power.

Concerns in this regard are only heightened by the prominent role Assistant
Treasury Secretary Neel Kashkari will be playing in "Islamic Finance 101." Mr.
Kashkari, the official charged with administering the TARP fund, will provide
welcoming remarks to participants. Presumably, in the process, he will convey
the enthusiasm about Shariah-Compliant Finance that appears to be the current
party line at Treasury.

As this enthusiasm for SCF ramps up in Washington officialdom, it is worth
recalling a lesson from "across the pond." Earlier this year, the head of the
Church of England, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, provoked a brief
but intense firestorm of controversy with his declaration that it was
"unavoidable" that Shariah would be practiced in Britain. Largely unremarked
was the reason he gave for such an ominous forecast: The U.K. had already
accommodated itself to Shariah-Compliant Finance.

This statement provides an important insight for the incumbent U.S.
administration and whomever succeeds it: Shariah-Compliant Finance serves as a
leading edge of the spear for those seeking to insinuate Shariah into Western
societies.

Regrettably, SCF is not the only instrument of the stealth jihad by which
Shariah-promoting Islamists are seeking to achieve "parallel societies" here
and elsewhere in the West. The British experience is instructive on this score,
too. Her Majesty's government has allowed the establishment of at least five
Shariah courts to hear (initially) family law cases. Polygamists in the U.K.
can get welfare for each of their wives (as long as all the marriages beyond
the first were performed overseas).

Thus far, we in this country may not have reached the point where evidence of
this sort of creeping Shariah is so manifest. But Treasury's accommodation to
SCF demonstrates that we are on the same trajectory - the one ordained and
demanded by the promoters of Shariah, one to which w
