[IslamCity] Legal letter From News of the World Demands MPACUK Take off Image of Fake Sheikh

2006-04-06 Thread NOOR~HOUDA

Take off Image of Fake Sheikh Rating:/ 0% Today MPACUK was sent a legal letter by the news of the world ordering us to take down pictures of the "FAKE SHEIKH" exposed by Galloway. They have appealed to the judge on the grounds that it may endanger his life. The man who wanted to attack Pro Palestinian Galloway and smear him as an anti Semite now wants his own cover kept secret so he can carry on his pathetic Islamaphobic smear campaigns. The bar on our re-producing the picture runs out at 4.00pm today. At which point we will plaster this website with his picture for all Muslims to spread around the country. http://www.mpacuk.org/content/view/6/1507/105/

[IslamCity] ~ The Active Ummah: Our Responsibility As Empowered Muslims ~

2005-06-26 Thread NOOR~HOUDA

http://www.mpacuk.org

Are the new generations of Muslims poor? Are they scared or defeatist? Are most of them less educated than their parents? It surely cannot be a lack of intelligence? Where is the care for other Muslims and people in need of help? Why is the compassion left to non-Muslim Peace activists? So far the only ones we see actively campaigning for human rights are non-Muslims. Didn’t Islam teach us this? Why have we become so selfish? Will there ever again be great leaders born in the Muslim community, or will we keep churning out self-centred, nine to five, rat race robot materialists that are set in their backward ways and seem to want to drag everyone else down with them? As yet we have not been able to understand why more people are not
coming forward to answer the call of the weak and needy. Nobody is really hearing the cries of those that are being tyrannised and slaughtered. Millions of people are allowed to go hungry yet we think have lists of our favourite restaurants and are spoilt for choice when it comes to mealtimes.
Muslims in the west and especially in Britain are empowered. We have certain rights and privileges that our third world counterparts can not even dream of. We will not be shot at with live rounds and slaughtered in cold blood like the Muslims of Uzbekistan just for demonstrating in the streets. We will not be locked away and tortured in some remote cell just for speaking out in public or writing a letter of complaint.
The political system that we live under gives us equal rights and freedom when it comes to expressing our opinions yet we decide not to exercise those rights. We silently oppose and complain about things but when it comes to the crunch we will not sacrifice time effort and wealth to formally complain or demonstrate. The government will not take notice of any issue that it thinks nobody feels strongly about. By demonstrating we show how intensely we oppose unjust policies. When not many people turn up to an event those in power brush the actions off as just those of a minority fringe group. It pours water over all the hard work of the organisers. Why are we not attending rallies and demonstrations to get our voice heard?
Unlike many other countries Britain has a major influence on world affairs. It is our right as Muslims to use this empowered position to help those that are less fortunate. We have health wealth and time to spend and can do so without much effort of and without opposition. If we do not use this power wisely then we are guilty of gross negligence; negligence to the Ummah; negligence to humanity.
Do we really need reminding that every Muslim belongs to the Ummah? (Muslim Community) Do we need someone to tell us that we should be pro-active and that we must remain vigilant by keeping an eye and ear open for any unjustified attack on Islam or Muslims? Shouldn’t we automatically be taking the initiative to counter any miscarriages of justice as well as highlighting them for others to do the same?
An easy way to find out about what is happening and what needs or attentions is to keep an eye on the action alerts on this and on other Muslim websites or newspapers. Respond to them as soon as possible and encourage others to do the same. If you think there is something outrageous that needs highlighting let us know so that we can inform others. Take time out and attend events in large numbers. Assist in the organising or logistical efforts.
We can become a single booming voice that cannot and should not be ignored. Why not present the real Islam to the world through example? It is fair enough that we have people presenting it through dialog and writing but a physical embodiment of empowered, compassionate and active Islam is what is needed to lead the world to a peaceful and just existence. Muslims in the past took these steps and provided all the examples that we needed. It is about time we took heed and followed their lead.
Enough talk. Hands up those that have had enough with the current state of affairs. Who will step up to the challenge? Who has enough courage determination and self respect to act? Who will physically join in the efforts of MPACUK to try and bring about all the things mentioned above? We need you to assist in our good work in person, financially, morally and in every other way you possibly can. Many of you have seen what we are about and the changes that we can bring. Words of support alone are not good enough to bring about change in society. You have to be part of the team to make it work. Also by making donations you will ensure that others are able to keep working towards justice when you are not able to.

[IslamCity] ~ The Most Powerful Zionist In The Telegraph - Sacked! ~

MPACUK comment: What can we say about Dominic Lawson? One of the most venemously Islamophobic editors on Fleet Street. After all, he is the man that employed Harry "Will" Cummins in a deliberate attempt at pushing even further the boundaries of Islamophobia in the British Press. Harry "All Muslims are dogs" Cummins ran for 4 weeks hiding behind the "it's only opinion" defence. We can only assume that Ms Sands Islamophobic grounding must be complete and so she is ready to take over. We wait and see, however we can't see the "Prophet(pbuh) was a Paedophile" Telegraph titles being a leopard that will ever change it's spots.
From the Times Lawson departs Sunday TelegraphBy Rhys Blakely, Times Online
Dominic Lawson has resigned as editor of the Sunday Telegraph. He is to be replaced by Sarah Sands, 44, the deputy at the Daily Telegraph.
The news that Mr Lawson is set to leave the title, which was taken over by the Barclay brothers last year in a £665 million deal, was announced to staff this afternoon. Mr Lawson was believed to be at the High Court in London this morning, attending the libel case brought by footballer Harry Kewell against his newspaper's sports columnist, Gary Lineker.
In a statement, Murdoch MacLennan, the chief executive of the Telegraph Group, said: "We would like to thank Dominic for his ten-year contribution to the Sunday Telegraph during which he has made the newspaper the leading Sunday news agenda setter. We also appreciate his achievements as Editor of The Spectator. We wish him well with his future plans."
Speculation had been gathering for some months over Mr Lawson's relationship with the newspaper's owners. Last month's Audit Bureau of Circulation figures, published on Friday, showed that the the Sunday Telegraph returned its lowest ABC since April 1996, at 666,031, a 5.9 per cent fall in sales since May 2004.
Mr Lawson was widely believed to have had hopes of becoming editor of the Daily Telegraph.
Mr Lawson, 48, the son of the former Conservative Chancellor, Nigel Lawson, and brother of the television cook, Nigella, had edited the Sunday Telegraph since 1995, having previously edited The Spectator magazine and worked at the Financial Times.
Earlier this year the Telegraph titles cut around 90 editorial staff jobs to help fund a £150m investment in new presses and extra colour pages across the two papers.
"The £150m investment programme will be funded in part by a major re-shaping exercise across the entire organisation," Mr MacLennan said at the time, adding that the staff cuts had the "complete support" of the Daily Telegraph editor, Martin Newland, and Mr Lawson.
Mr MacLennan became chief executive in October, moving from Associated Newspapers. He has overseen a number of high-profile executive changes, including the departure of the group executive editor, Brenda Haywood.
In a separate announcement, Guardian Media Group today confirmed that it would be following The Times, and changing the format of The Guardian later this year, spending £50 million on new printing presses for its Berliner-style re-design.

[IslamCity] ~ MPACUK ~

2005-06-25 Thread ••NOOR~HOUDA••

Is a non-profit making organisation working with the community, helping Muslims to help themselves.
We are not a charity but a unique Empowerment System; the first of it's kind for Muslims in Europe and it is our aim to defend Muslim interests and Islam throughout Britain and the world.
The Muslim population constitutes the largest minority population in Britain, yet we are the most under represented in the political process. More than ever, we see that the needs and the opinions of the Muslims are being disregarded.
How many times are Muslims made to feel as if Britain has done them a great favour by allowing them to live and work here- when many Muslims in Britain today were born here, and many others have reverted to Islam, either way we are British citizens and we live and work and bring revenue in and pay taxes. Muslims are law-abiding citizens and as such have a right to be heard, a right to be listened to and a right to be taken seriously.
It is the aim of MPACUK to change the situation for Muslims in Britain and throughout the rest of the world.
For too long have we been left behind in the race for both political and media attention towards the difficulties faced by the Muslims. What has been done to bring these issues to the forefront?
Compare with theZionist lobby groups, there areover 100members of the Friends of Israel lobby in the Labour party alone. This gives them a very loud voice simply becausethey are active, each and everyone is giving and working for the good of their community. If the Muslims could learn from their example we would never have to suffer in silence again.
Originally set up as a web-based media monitoring e-group, MPACUK's first mission was to fight the bias in the media and to re-dress the balance. MPACUK has since flourished. Rather than being a concentrated group of activists, funded by the community, MPACUK aim to give the power to the community. A system of media monitoring, political lobbying and grass-roots community and institutional activism to allow the individual and the community the ability to change their own situation and the situation for Muslims at large.
MPACUK has been and still is forging links with the media to open an avenue for rational dialogue and re-education of the individual on the street regarding Islam and Muslims. The aim is make the all-too-common misrepresentation of Islam a thing of the past.
Tired of the governments attitude of being merely interested in using Muslim groups and individuals to support its policies, rather than taking account of the Muslim voice. In response MPACUK are aiming to politicise the Muslims and encourage them to get to know their Member of Parliament, and to feel confident in raising issues with them- it is after all their job to look after the interests of their constituents.
MPACUK are aiming to bring the community together, disunity among Muslims has been our biggest downfall in recent years. This will not, however, stop us from holding Muslims and their leaders to account. The lack of accountability is killing the Ummah, no responsibility and no accountabilitymeans no action.
MPACUK are working with many organisations in an aim to break down barriers and at the same time pool both resources and experience.
This is a life long commitment to ensuring the future of Muslims.
