Many people know that the name of the festival is Ramzan.Actually the name of the festival is Id-ul-Fitr. Ramzan is a month name in Islamic calendar in this whole month Muslims keeps their fasting.
What is Id-ul-Fitr?Id means festivalFitr means charityId-ul-Fitr means festival of charityIn the day of Id-ul-Fitr each and every individual Muslim must give charity to poor people. He has to give one time food of one family to poor people, quality of the food must be same as his food. Islam makes this charity is compulsory to every capable individual Muslim.
"Allah's Apostle enjoined the payment of one Sa' of dates or one Sa' of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old, and he ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer the 'Id prayer. (One Sa' = 3 Kilograms approx.)"
