Bismillah [IslamCity] Judge cancels marriage of teenage girl with old man
*Judge cancels marriage of teenage girl with old man* Arab News QATIF: The chief judge of the Qatif Shariah Court, Saeed Madlouh, nullified on Wednesday the marriage of a man aged more than 70 with a 14-year-old girl following the girl's complaint to the court. The girl went to the court with her divorced mother and told the judge to save her life as her father had forced her to marry a man who was older than her grandfather. She also complained that her stepmother asked her father to get rid of her in any way possible, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported yesterday. The girl, whose name was not published, is a student of the first standard at an intermediate school in Qatif. She has not been attending the school for some time fearing her father would take her home by force. The girl is staying with her mother now. The judge said in the judgment that the marriage was illegal even though it had been registered because the girl did not agree to the marriage. After examining the documents of the case, I am convinced that the petitioner was forced by her father to get married. The girl did not publicly express her unwillingness to the marriage because her father had threatened to punish her severely if she objected to the marriage. It is under this situation that the girl ran away from her father's house to her mother and sought the court's protection, the judge said in his ruling. The judge added that he was handing down the verdict in the spirit of the Shariah law. *P.P. Abdullatheef* Neeleswaram - CLT

Bismillah [IslamCity] Tehelka: Police Theories Encountered
Saturday, 27 September 2008 *Police Theories Encountered* http://www.tehelka.com/story_main40.asp?filename=Ne041008police_theories.asp *The official narration is shooting holes into their own story on the Delhi operation, triggering demands for an inquiry* *SHOBHITA NAITHANI **New Delhi* IT'S 11 AT night on September 22. Sombre activity is in progress at the Nizamuddin burial ground, but a stunned, occasionally resentful uncertainty pervades the air. A group of some 150 armed policemen stand round, keeping grim watch over a gathering of over 250 people. Some of those attending the funeral are irate. They are questioning the veracity of the rationale that brings them to the burial of Atif, alias Bashir, and Mohammed Sajid, blamed for the September 13 New Delhi blasts and shot dead three days earlier in a police encounter in New Delhi's Jamia Nagar. Now the two are being buried in the presence of the Shahi Imam of the Delhi Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmed Bukhari, local politicians and numerous Muslims visiting the city to mark Ramzan. Speaking at the funeral, Bukhari reiterated what many civil society organisations have been saying since September 19, the day of the encounter: *The police cannot label anyone a terrorist. It's for the courts to decide whether a person is guilty.* *Has A Cover-Up Begun?* *AIIMS doctors say crucial evidence may have been lost during Inspector **MC Sharma'**s operation* HIS COLLEAGUES call him the bravest. But his death during the Jamia Nagar encounter has raised uncomfortable questions. In a startling disclosure, a senior doctor who conducted the postmortem on Inspector MC Sharma at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences spoke to TEHELKA of the damage to his vital organs. It was difficult to establish the entry and exit points of the bullet because conclusive evidence had been wiped out by the interventions of the doctors at Holy Family [where Sharma was rushed to]. Once considered the right-hand man of late ACP Rajbir Singh, another encounter specialist, Sharma was instrumental in the killing of 35 alleged terrorists and the arrest of 80 supposed others. It is believed that Sharma also killed 120 gangsters in a career just short of two decades. A close Special Cell colleague said there was a time when Sharma and Singh were measured on the same notoriety scale. But post-2003, once the two encounter specialists fell out, Sharma sorted his ways. Jamia Nagar residents want to know how a veteran officer could make the mistake of not wearing a bulletproof vest to an encounter site. Senior officers have varying answers. He probably wanted to garner all the credit, said one, who requested anonymity. According to another, He was under tremendous pressure as his son was suffering from dengue. Least satisfactory was the response from Deputy Com missioner of Police (Special Cell) Alok Kumar, who said, He must have wanted to maintain secrecy in a cramped area like Batla House. Why then could he not have worn the vest under his shirt? (Rohini Mohan contributed to this story) There are two versions of the events of that day. Badr Taslim, 48, a long-time resident of L-17, Batla House, the building adjacent to the one where the 'terrorists were holed up', first heard the sounds of gunfire at about 11am and after that a scream. Soon, armed men rushed to the spot and told him to get inside his house. Taslim ran to the flat opposite his and saw two men coming down from the fourth floor of L-18, supporting Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma by his arms. Sharma would die later that night of wounds sustained during the operation. But Taslim is unsure how serious Sharma's injuries were. A small stain of blood was visible under his right arm, he says. There was no wound in the front of his body. There was no blood on the staircase either. Some residents recall the sequence. Several gunshots, the police said 30, audible till about 11:40am. Then, the silence. Finally, the bodies of two 'terrorists' — 23-year-old Atif and 17-yearold Sajid — carted away. Taslim didn't see the police arresting Saif, who is suspected to have planted the Regal Cinema bomb that was defused. Masih Alam, a lawyer who lives in the flat opposite L-18, agrees with Taslim's version. In the police story, Atif was the Indian Mujahideen mastermind who designed and coordinated the five blasts that went off in three crowded New Delhi shopping centres. Sajid was supposedly Atif's close aide. The police claim the Special Cell team had received information that two of those suspected in the blasts were at Jamia Nagar. At about 10:30am, a subinspector posing as a Vodafone salesman knocked on the door of the fourth-floor flat in L-18 Batla House. The residents of the house said they didn't want the Vodafone offer. As was arranged, the sub-inspector sent a signal to Sharma by giving him a missed call. Minutes after getting the cue, Sharma was up the stairs with six other officers. As he entered the flat, men rushed out of another

*PRESS RELEASE* *'It is a heinous crime against entire Humanity'* * Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Condemns Ahmedabad, **Bangalore** serial blasts * New Delhi 27 July 2008 *Mr Nusrat Ali*, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind strongly condemned the serial bomb blasts that exploded in Bangalore and Ahmedabad and left at least 45 killed and many injured. The secretary general of Jamaat termed it as a heinous crime against the entire humanity and denounced the barbaric killing of innocent peoples. He expressed grief, sympathies and solidarity with the families of the victims and offered sincere condolence to them. Mr Nusrat Ali demanded a high level impartial investigation which should be carried out in a time bound manner and should result in identifying the real culprits and their motives. Mr Nusrat Ali cautioned the Government and the intelligence agencies that the innocent peoples should not be harassed and detained unlawfully as it happens in previous such incidents. Objecting strongly to the practice of intelligence agencies of floating certain names without proper investigation, he said, Government must look into the real motives of perpetrators of such crimes. He also cautioned the media, especially electronic media not to draw the hasty conclusion on the basis of mere speculations of intelligence agencies. This blame game is not going to help us, he added. He appealed to the peoples of India to remain calm and united against the divisive forces which are trying to disrupt the communal harmony and the plural fabric of India. * * *Media Dept.* Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, HQ D-317, Dawat Nagar Abul Fazl Enclave, Jamia Nagar, Okhla, New Delhi-25 www.jamaateislamihind.org Phone:011-26948341 Fax: 011-26920975 ** ** *Bombers had done the most heinous crime against humanity: SIO* *Delhi** (24/07/2008)*: Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) condemned the bombings in Ahmedabad and recent in Bangalore in the strongest terms. This is undoubtedly an effort to destabilize the peace and harmony of this country. There has also been such incidence to sabotage some political issues. SIO demands the Government that the perpetrators of bombings have to be brought in front of justice. At the same time innocents must not be tortured or punished as it is happening in various parts of the country. It will only help the actual criminals played behind this crime. Bismillah [IslamCity] Sharia law 'could have UK role'-Chief Justice Lord Phillips-BBC
Sharia law 'could have UK role' Lord Chief Justice Lord Phillips said English and Welsh law would still play a part. *Principles of sharia law could play a role in some parts of the legal system, the Lord Chief Justice has said. * Lord Phillips, the most senior judge in England and Wales, said there was no reason sharia law's principles could not be used in mediation. However, he said this would still be subject to the jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts. Sharia is a set of principles which govern the way many Muslims believe they should live their life. The Archbishop of Canterbury prompted controversy when he said use of certain aspects of the law seems unavoidable. *English common law already allows us to go to mediation to whichever third party we wish* Inayat Bunglawala Muslim Council of Britain QA: Sharia law explained http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7234870.stm In a speech at the East London Muslim Centre in Whitechapel, Lord Phillips said that sharia suffered from widespread misunderstanding. Lord Phillips said: There is no reason why sharia principles, or any other religious code, should not be the basis for mediation or other forms of alternative dispute resolution. It must be recognised, however, that any sanctions for a failure to comply with the agreed terms of mediation would be drawn from the laws of England and Wales. Severe physical punishments such as flogging, stoning and the cutting off of hands would not be acceptable, he said. He added: There can be no question of such courts sitting in this country, or such sanctions being applied here. So far as the law is concerned, those who live in this country are governed by English and Welsh law and subject to the jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts. *'Misunderstood'* The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, had been misunderstood when it was reported in February that he said British Muslims could be governed by sharia law, the judge said. Dr Williams suggested that sharia could play a role in aspects of marital law, the regulation of financial transactions and authorised structures of mediation and conflict resolution. Lord Phillips said: It was not very radical to advocate embracing sharia law in the context of family disputes, for example, and our system already goes a long way towards accommodating the archbishop's suggestion. It is possible in this country for those who are entering into a contractual agreement to agree that the agreement shall be governed by a law other than English law. Inayat Bunglawala from the Muslim Council of Britain told BBC News that sharia law applied only to civil matters. He said: I think it's important to clarify that English common law already allows us to go to mediation to whichever third party we wish. So that is why you have sharia council, that is why you have Jewish courts. It is a truly voluntary arrangement. There is no parallel legal system. This system cannot override English common law system at all. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7488790.stm P.P. Abdullatheef Neeleswaram - CLT

A. Hannan, has asked me to comment on some abusive attacks on Maulana Maudoodi [*rahmatullah alaih*] published on line on several discussion groups. Syed Abul 'Ala Maudoodi was undoubtedly among the greatest Islamic scholars of the 20th century c.e. He taught the Muslims of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh to understand the relevance of Islam to our times in rational and scientific terms. His contributions to Islamic learning in our times are simply too many to be listed. Suffice it to say that the modern Islamic movement at least in South Asia would have been unthinkable without him. This does not mean that he should not be criticized. He wrote to me: I have never considered myself above criticism. He wanted Muslims to pick up from where he had left and to carry on his work, and not to come to a stop as if he is the last word. However, criticism to be legitimate has to be honest. If stories are fabricated about him, or his writings are taken totally out of context, that cannot be considered criticism. That is abuse and propaganda. I am not surprised that some people have an irrational hatred of Maudoodi. He was not only a scholar but the leader of an organized and disciplined Islamic movement. Thus he was able to challenge the enemies of Islam on a daily basis. He was repeatedly sent to prison and the Pakistani media for decades would not mention the fact that he even existed, in a futile effort to stop the spread of his ideas. He had well placed enemies among a variety of groups who opposed the emergence of an Islamic view of life. For the specific issue under review, remember that Maudoodi was himself an Indian Muslim though he became a leader of international dimensions. In the three volumes of *Musalman awr Maujuda Siyasi kashmakash, *he criticized the movement for Pakistan while he provided the idea of Pakistan and the Pakistan movement all its ideological tools. His contention was that the strategic issue is not Muslim nationalism but the emergence of a viable Islamic political state. If Pakistan emerges and it is not Islamically structured and does not provide Islamic justice, he thought, it would jeopardize not only its own existence but that of the Muslims of India too. He wrote that for him one square mile of land governed by the Law of Allah was more important than all of India. Obviously such writing can be taken out of context and used against him. The Pakistani secularists claim that he was against Pakistan. It's a ridiculous claim for one who knows the writings of Maudoodi and in any case becomes merely a part of historical polemic when one realizes that Maudoodi and Jamaate Islami fought for the independence and ideology of Pakistan as no other group did. Many of the Muslims of India cherish Maudoodi's ideological writings and those who read him know that he was unflinching in his support of India's Muslims even after he left
Bismillah [IslamCity] Carry me In your Arms(Touching Story for every couple)
* The story written with western family back ground so sorry if felt uncomfortable. But believe at the end there is a good message for every couple * *Carry me in your arms* ** *Abu Hurairah narrated that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: The believers who show the most perfect faith are those who have the best disposition and the best of you are those who are best to their wives.* ** *AUTHOR UNKNOWN* ** When I got home that night as my wife Ameena served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes. Suddenly I didn't know how to say it. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly. Ameena didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, Ismail why? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. Ameena was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; I had lost my heart to a lovely girl called Mary Anne. I didn't love Ameena anymore. I just pitied her! With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house and the car. She glanced at it and then tore it to pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said, for I loved Mary Anne so dearly. Finally Ameena cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me, her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now. The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell fast asleep because I was tired after an eventful day with Mary Anne. When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did'nt care so I turned over and was asleep again. In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month, we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son Ahmed had his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage. This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day. She requested that everyday for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request. I told Mary Anne about my wife's divorce conditions. She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she has, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully. Ameena and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son Ahmed clapped behind us, daddy is holding mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly, don't tell Ahmed about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office. On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest.. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to Ameena. On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Mary Anne about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger. She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily. Suddenly it hit me, .. she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head. Our son Ahmed came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mum out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. Ameena gestured to our son to come close and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because
Bismillah [IslamCity] The Little Girl Who Shocked World Leaders Into Silence
*I have clip of her beautiful speach which can't be shared through mail-group because of file size (about 5MB). Can be shared as per request.* Its content is an old footage from the Earth Summit Conference organized by the United Nations back in 1992, and the scene is taken from a plenary session under the theme, Development and the Environment. BR Abdullatheef *The Little Girl Who Shocked World Leaders Into Silence* The speaker is Severn Suzuki, a 13-year-old Canadian girl, and her audience is world leaders. Two aspects of the footage got my attention: The speaker, and her message. At the age of 9, Severn started her own Environmental Children's Organization (ECO), made up of a small group of children committed to teaching other kids about the ongoing environmental crisis. In 1992, Severn and her group raised enough money to attend the Premier Earth Summit in Brazil to warn decision makers of the catastrophic results of their actions — or inactions as we see today — on future generations. And this is what she had to say: Hello, I am Severn Suzuki speaking for ECO the environmental children's organization. We are a group of 12- and 13-year-olds trying to make a difference. Venessa Suthie, Morgan Geisler, Michelle Quigg and I. We have raised all the money to come here ourselves, to come 5000 miles to tell you adults you must change your ways. Coming up here today I have no hidden agenda. I am fighting for my future. Losing my future is not like losing an election or a few points on the stock market. I am here to speak for all generations to come. I am here to speak on behalf of the starving children around the world whose cries go unheard. I am here to speak for the countless animals dying across this planet because they have nowhere left to go. I am afraid to go out in the sun now because of the holes in our ozone; I am afraid to breathe the air because I don't know what chemicals are in it. I used to go fishing in Vancouver, my home, with my dad until just a few years ago we found the fish full of cancers. And now we hear of animals and plants going extinct, every day, vanishing forever. In my life I have dreamt of seeing a great herd of wild animals, jungles and rainforests full of birds and butterflies, but now I wonder if they will even exist for my children to see. Did you have to worry of these things when you were my age? All this is happening before our eyes and yet we act as if we have all the time we want — and all the solutions. I am only a child and I don't have all the solutions. But I want you to realize, neither do you! You don't know how to fix the holes in our ozone layer; you don't know how to bring a salmon back up a dead stream; you don't know how to bring back an animal now extinct; and you can't bring back the forests that once grew — and where there is now a desert. If you don't know how to fix it, please stop breaking it. Here, you may be delegates of your government, business people, organizers, reporters, or politicians. But really you are mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, and all of you are somebody's child. I am only a child, yet I know that we are all part of a family, five billion-strong. In fact, thirty million species-strong, and voters and government will never change that. I am only a child yet I know that we are all in this together and should act as one single world toward one single goal. In my anger I am not blind, and in my fear I am not afraid of telling the world how I feel. In my country we make so much waste, we buy and throw away... buy and throw away... buy and throw away... and yet northern countries will not share with the needy, even when we have more than enough, we are afraid to share. We are afraid to let go of some of our wealth. In Canada, we live the privileged life. We have plenty of food, water and shelter. We have watches, bicycles, computers and television sets... the list could go on for two days. Two days ago here in Brazil, we were shocked when we spent time with some children living on the streets. This is what one child told us: I wish I was rich. And if I were, I would give all the street children food, clothes, medicines, shelter and love and affection. If a child on the street who has nothing is willing to share, why are we, who have everything, still so greedy? I can't stop thinking that these are children my own age and that it makes a tremendous difference where you are born. I can't stop thinking that I could be one of those children living in the Favellas of Rio... I could be a child starving in Somalia... or a victim of war in the Middle East...or a beggar in India. I am only a child and yet I know that if all the money that was spent on war was spent on finding environmental answers and ending poverty... what a wonderful place this would be. At school, even in kindergarten you teach us how to behave in the world. You teach us to not to fight others, to work things out, to respect others, to

And the word 'Muslim' was meant for the group which followed this movement and went forward with it. The movement has been lost sight of. Its purpose has been forgotten. Its principles have been broken one after the other and its name, having lost all its significance, is now merely used to denote racial and social allegiance. (2) Denying the right of Allaah and His Messenger to rule. (3) Preferring the rule of falsehood to the rule of Allaah, whether this is complete or only in a few matters. (4) Regarding the rule of Allaah and the rule of falsehood as equal. (5) Thinking that it is permissible to rule by something that contradicts what Allaah has revealed, or believing that ruling by what Allaah has revealed is not obligatory or is optional. (6) Refusing to rule by what Allaah has revealed. Because Qur'an clears: Allaah has commanded us to refer matters to His judgement and to establish Sharee'ah, and He has forbidden us to rule with anything else, as is clear from a number of aayaat in the Qur'aan, such as the aayaat in Soorat al-Maa'idah (5) which discuss ruling according to what Allaah has revealed, and mention the following topics: · The command to rule according to what Allaah has revealed: And so judge between them by what Allaah has revealed . . . [aayah 49] · Warning against ruling by other than what Allaah has revealed: . . . and follow not their vain desires . . . [aayah 49] · Warning against compromising on any detail of Sharee'ah, no matter how small: . . . but beware of them lest they turn you far away from some of that which Allaah has sent down to you . . . [aayah 49] · Forbidding seeking the ruling of jaahiliyyah, as is expressed in the rhetorical question Do they then seek the judgement of (the Days of) Ignorance? [aayah 50] · The statement that nobody is better than Allaah to judge: . . . and who is better in judgement than Allaah for a people who have firm Faith? [aayah 50] · The statement that whoever does not judge according to what Allaah revealed is a kaafir, a zaalim (oppressor or wrongdoer) and a faasiq (sinner), as Allaah says: . . . And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed, such are the kaafiroon. [aayah 44]; . . . And whoever does not judge by that which Allaah has revealed, such are the zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers) [aayah 45]; . . . And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed (then) such (people) are the faasiqoon (rebellious or disobedient). [aayah 47]. · The statement that it is obligatory for the Muslims to judge according to what Allaah has revealed, even if those who seek their judgement are not Muslim, as Allaah says: . . . And if you judge, judge with justice between them. . . [aayah 42] * *Democracy Islam: A Response to Some Misgivings* *Shah Abdul Hannan* http://www.messageonline.org/2002aprilmay/cover8.htm *Islam and democracy are not contradictory to each other. Democracy is the form of government based on the will of the people as well as run and changed with their consent only. This is also the form of Islamic government. But the values of western democracy are not identical with those of Islam.* (Selected Speeches and Writings of Maulana Mawdudi, Vol. 2, p.198) Democracy is the most popular and accepted political system in the modern world. Most of the political movements have made it their goal to establish this system in their respective countries. Yet, there exists some difference of opinion among the Islamic groups on democracy. While democracy and human rights have occupied very important position in the political agenda of many of the Islamic parties, there are few groups who do not accept it based on a charge that democracy speaks of sovereignty of the people. Islamic parties and Islamic scholars of the modern world almost invariably think of a political system wherein government will run the country through Parliament. They also want freedom of expression, voting right of the people, rule of law, independent free judiciary, free press, fundamental human rights etc. These are also the

Boycott Israel [IslamCity] Muslim View of Jesus on British TV
Muslim View of Jesus on British TV IslamOnline.net Newspapers [image: Image] Jesus was such a prominent figure in Islam but most people don't know that, said Bragg CAIRO — British public service network ITV will air on Sunday, August 19, a documentary about how Muslims view Jesus and the story of his crucifixion from an Islamic perspective. Jesus was such a prominent figure in Islam but most people don't know that, Melvyn Bragg, who commissioned and narrated the one-hour documentary, told the *Guardian* on Saturday, August 18. I was fascinated by the idea ..., added Lord Bragg, who was raised up as Anglican. The documentary will feature interviews with scholars and historians about Muslims' view of Jesus. Muslims believe in Jesus as one of the great Prophets of God and that he is the son of Mary but not the Son of God. He was conceived and born miraculously. In the Noble Qur'an, Jesus is called Isa. He is also known as Al-Masih (the Christ) and Ibn Maryam (Son of Mary). As for his crucifixion, Muslims believe that Jesus was not crucified but was lifted up to heaven. Muslims believe that Jesus will come back to earth before the end of time to restore peace and order, fight the Anti-Christ (Al-Masih Al-Dajjal) and bring victory for truth and righteousness. The true followers of Jesus will prevail over those who deny him, misrepresent him and reject him. *Spiritual Side* Director and producer Irshad Ashraf said the documentary is an attempt to highlight the spiritual side of Islam. Jesus is loved and respected by Muslims and he's one of the most important prophets in our religion, he said. Ashraf has tried to bring in representatives of the mainstream Anglican and Catholic groups to take part in the footage. But nobody was available, he said. Philip Lewis, the Bishop of Bradford's aide on inter-faith issues, urged both Muslims and Christians to take advantage of a worthwhile contribution to understanding a complex issue. But the documentary has drawn fire from some British Anglican leaders. Patrick Sookhdeo, an Anglican canon and spokesman for the Barnabas Fund, said the Muslim denial of Jesus's divinity was unacceptable. On the last day the Qur'an says Jesus will destroy all the crosses. How can we praise that, he said. The Anglican leader accused the documentary broadcasters of double standards. How would the Muslim community respond if ITV made a program challenging Muhammad as the last prophet? he asked. According to the Noble Qur'an, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Last Prophet. This means that prophethood has come to an end by the last and final Prophet and there will be no other Prophet to come after him. There are also many citations in the Bible prophesying the coming of Prophet Muhammad after Jesus Christ. In the Bible, Prophet Muhammad is named the Converter and Mohamadim. http://www.islamonline.net/servlet/Satellite?c=Article_Ccid=1187268395696pagename=Zone-English-News/NWELayout P.P.
