As Salaamu Alaikum,
We want to thank all of you who give to us as you can afford. Your loyalty
is appreciated and very reassuring as we continue to do this challenging work
of caring for others. We meet in metro Atlanta every first Sunday at 1 pm
(new time) throughout the year. On occasion we will meet on the second Sunday
usually after the annual conventions of the major Islamic organizations
(ICNA, ISNA, WD Mohammed) and at the first of the year due to people
traveling,
insh'Allah. We meet today at Masjid Al Mu minun, 1127 Hank Aaron Dr. SW at
1 pm, insh'Allah.
We are approaching bill time (25th of month through 1st) for the shelter
project. We pay our bills in the
following order:
1. Lease (with option to buy).....................................$1,000
(must pay by 5th)
2. Utility Bills (lights, water and phone)....................$ 500-600
(approximate usually pay by the 10th)
*3. Halal Meat and condiments................................$ 200 (paid
through donation)
4. Stipends (four at this time)..................................$1,440

All of our residents leave the shelter daily (Mon.-Fri.) to go look for work
and do other things people do to become more self-sufficient. This is why
we need to collect money for MARTA Cards and give them pocket money until they
find work or secure an income.
This budget represents only the amount to keep the doors open at this time.
We need to raise $250,000 per year
so we can expand our bed capacity, provide more in-house services and pay
staff market value salaries.
You can give in many ways to help us keep the shelter open:
1. We ask that individuals give $10 per month ($2.50 per week) and
Masjid/Islamic Centers, organizations, email
listserv and businesses for a donation of $100 per month or $25.00 per week
from your group, insh'Allah.
2. In-kind donations: Halal meat and cheese, MARTA Tokens and help us fund
raise in your community or through your club, insh'Allah.
3. Take on one of the utility bills monthly for a stated period of time,
insh'Allah. We will need to discuss this with you and will be glad to give
you
the necessary information to pay the bill.
4. Support the various fund raisers going on at this time contact

give us a small donation from each sale she makes. We are now selling
Tropicana Juice call Sr. Hadayai at (404) 366-6610 to order juice by the case
at
$12.00 per case (12 to a case) and to arrange a delivery or pick up. If she
delivers you maybe asked to pay an additional $1.00 up to $3.00 more depending
on
where you reside in the metro area. Also visit our web site for information
