documentation|[https://docs.scipy.org/doc/numpy-1.15.1/reference/generated/numpy.matrix.html?highlight=matrix#numpy.matrix]]:

use regular arrays. The class may be removed in the future.

I suppose it might make sense to close this issue if numpy is not going to keep 
the class. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Oh, the difference is not between Arrow 0.9.0 and 0.10.0 but between numpy 
1.14.3 and 1.15.2. Upgrading numpy to latest version throws the error above, 
while it works on an older version.
