Usually I prefer to initialize a proxy interface at start to avoid throw and catch NoSuchMethodException every time. [status updates|https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/HADOOP/Hadoop+3+release+status+updates] have been silent since the end of april and I don't see any information on the hadoop mailing list about it.
