[Issue 126473] New: I used up 3.2G of data when openoffice crashes several times while editing.

2015-08-17 Thread bugzilla

  Issue ID: 126473
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: I used up 3.2G of data when openoffice crashes several
times while editing.
   Product: Writer
   Version: 4.1.1
  Hardware: PC
OS: Windows 10
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: P5
 Component: editing
  Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
  Reporter: gche...@gmail.com

I was using hot spot to surf internet and cut and past content to openoffice
writer component. I managed to copy required information from a webpage from
http://www.heybaby.sg/havingchildren/art.html.
However, I met a nasty task of removing some tags. For eg,

Enhanced Subsidies For Centre-Based Infant Care And Child Care

Details
FAQs

To help make infant and child care services more affordable for lower- and
middle-income families, a new subsidy framework takes effect from 1 Apr 2013.
Under the new subsidy framework, parents with Singapore Citizen children
enrolled in licensed child care centres continue to be eligible for a Basic
Subsidy of up to $600 for infant care and $300 for child care.

When I tried to delete Details
   FAQs
openoffice crashes. I tried 3 or 4 times to study the issue.
Unfortunately, my data usage choke up to 3.3 gb within two hours surfing and
copying. At last I manage to save the completed article. I was in for another
shock. Whenever I open the file, openoffice just crashed. So I have to redo
and erase bad copy which crashes openoffice.

I had exceeded my month quota of 3GB data plan. I did not download any content
from the internet. Nor play wireless. My hotspot application record 3.3gb
usage.

I still don't understand how openoffice crashes could lead to 3.3 GB of data
usage.

This enhancement depends on language UI used.
In french, we just use 1st item with 1er and no other.
2nd, 3rd, etc are not used in date format.

The usual starting point for spellcheck problems is to delete or rename the
OpenOffice user profile. Doing this sorts out a very large proportion [read:
most] of OpenOffice stability problems. Details of how to do this are given in

Currently it always ident for one chacter if paragraph's firstline auto indent
is enabled.
The behavior generally suit Korean and Japanese. But for Chinese, it needs to
be doubled.

I am using the OpenOffice writer to write various things. Since updating the
extension a couple weeks ago, my spell checker has been marking EVERY SINGLE
WORD I type as misspelled. This morning I redownloaded the extension, for some
reason, it wasn't finding it, but even after adding the extension, everything
was STILL coming up as misspelled!

OK, I'm having this issue in version 4.1.1, not version 3.4.1, and I have no
idea where the user profile directory is that I'm supposed to delete!
