[Issue 127783] Crash when opening any PPT file
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=127783 --- Comment #18 from dam...@apache.org --- On FreeBSD I couldn't reproduce any PPT crashes using: db54ab87120ff0d8e8b488a3aea635318583b1f4 2017-12-02 e74cb447ea3816bfc4b366ebc4fba3b638e9c65a 2017-08-05 db54ab87120ff0d8e8b488a3aea635318583b1f4 2017-12-02 8d1a3dfa5ab64f51ad85a7ce8d7a0a855595e2ab 2019-01-01 but latest trunk does crash now, and in comment 6 I did notice it crashing in 2023-01-17 too. So then sadly we have AT LEAST 2 (!!!) PPT crashing bugs: 1. The Windows-only bug originally described here that started around 2018. 2. A FreeBSD (and what other systems?) bug that started between 2019-01-01 and 2023-01-17. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.

[Issue 128577] New: Sorting tables misplaces/loses/mixes data in large files 1Mb+ sheets 2000 lines x 30 columns
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=128577 Issue ID: 128577 Issue Type: DEFECT Summary: Sorting tables misplaces/loses/mixes data in large files 1Mb+ sheets 2000 lines x 30 columns Product: Calc Version: 4.1.13 Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: Normal Priority: P5 (lowest) Component: programming Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org Reporter: dweave...@comcast.net Target Milestone: --- After sorting, sometimes after multiple sorts, data from the sorted sheet is lost & replaced by data from another sheet. It seemed impossible but it happened! This has happened with OO .14, 13 & 12. It may have happened earlier but large sorts with OO are a new thing for me. Separately, Word Perfect had a wonderful feature F3 which displayed the embedded control characters within the text. This was very useful when multiple controls, e,g, underline, bold, & italic get mixed up. To correct it, delete everything & replace them correctly. With F3, just delete the mixed-up controls & replace them. Also MS Word places a large number of control characters at the beginning of very file. Most of them are paired and so have no effect, e.g., BOLD on, BOLD off. Why it does this, I don't know but it inflates the size of every file. Again, I wanted to retain deleted text by crossing it out. When reporting reality there can be a need to show that text was entered & then deleted or crossed out. Sometimes it is useful to show what happened. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.
[Issue 127861] Writer does not show OLE Object inserted from file
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=127861 --- Comment #7 from dam...@apache.org --- The regression happened somewhere between these 134 commits between: e74cb447ea3816bfc4b366ebc4fba3b638e9c65a (5 August 2017) and db54ab87120ff0d8e8b488a3aea635318583b1f4 (2 December 2017) I have a grim suspicion that it was caused by one of the backports of security patches from 4.1.X that affect embedded objects, but let's still see what further bisects reveal. If true, a longer audit of 4.1.X might be needed to find why it didn't cause a regression there too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.
