[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-14438?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel=15232765#comment-15232765 ] Josh Rosen commented on SPARK-14438: If we upgrade to the latest version of Breeze, this is going to cause a huge increase in the number of transitive Scala dependencies that we pull in for 2.12, meaning that we're going to have tons of upgrade pain here because any new release of Breeze is going to be blocked by literally 15+ libraries in its transitive build & test dep. graph. In the long term, this might be an argument for switching from Breeze to some other library.
