The current map can take the even number of arguments (e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8 ...) due to a pair of key and map. We can determine {{map(1.0, '2', 3.0, '4') or map(1.0, '2')}} should be behave as currently. So that if you pass one array as an argument it would be behave as currently, treating an array as a mixture keys and values. But if you pass two arrays then they would be treated as separated keys and value. E.g similar to the [{{sequence}}|SPARK-23927] function that also accepts different number of arguments. > High-order function: map(array, array) → map> --- > > Key: SPARK-23933 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-23933 > Project: Spark > Issue Type: Sub-task > Components: SQL >Affects Versions: 2.3.0 >Reporter: Xiao Li >Priority: Major > > Ref: https://prestodb.io/docs/current/functions/map.html > Returns a map created using the given key/value arrays. > {noformat} > SELECT map(ARRAY[1,3], ARRAY[2,4]); -- {1 -> 2, 3 -> 4} > {noformat} -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v7.6.3#76005) - To unsubscribe, e-mail: issues-unsubscr...@spark.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: issues-h...@spark.apache.org
