GitHub user zizhong opened a pull request:

https://github.com/apache/trafficserver/pull/1568

TS-4195: double free on exit

Rework on fixing crash on exit.
The previous commit
https://github.com/apache/trafficserver/commit/e0e39fc5026f0f5bcd6c0884adde91bcccab6bf8
 is reverted because it affects Asan report generating.

Tried self-pipe trick as @jpeach suggested, it still has a race condition
between `return from main()` and `exit()` in the pipe handler. It seems exit is
not necessary as we already have `sleep` loop waiting on
`shutdown_event_system` before the end of `main()`

We can get the Asan report and get no crash with the current patch.

Thank @jaaju for helping.

$ git pull https://github.com/zizhong/trafficserver double_free_on_exit

I installed on a machine with a higher load, and it fails in ats_memalign

memory used by the process is much less than the amount of available memory
(10% in use). Could be that top is delayed in getting updated.

The same build (or very similar build) has run for days on a machine with

2017-03-10 Thread danobi
GitHub user danobi opened a pull request:

https://github.com/apache/trafficserver/pull/1567

Diags scrubbing mechanism

This should be the squashed commit message:

Diagnostic log scrubbing is intended an extra security measure to prevent
sensitive strings from leaking to diagnostic logs. This is provided via a
config option `proxy.config.diags.scrubs`.

For each line that is to be written to diagnostic logs, a regular
expression(s) is applied to the line. If there are any matches, the matched
substring is replaced with the replacement string.

You can merge this pull request into a Git repository by running:

$ git pull https://github.com/danobi/trafficserver diags_scrubbing

[GitHub] trafficserver issue #1557: brotli support in gzip plugin

@myraid
I can see cases where someone might not want to spend the CPU resources on
Brotli compression, but doesn't mind if the origin does Broli encoding. The
plugin would compress the response from the origin using certain algorithms.

The configuration option would be something like:
algorithms deflate,gzip,brotli

It would really be nice to enable Brotli on certain content types (e.g.
text/javascript) that are static and not on types that would be more dynamic
(e.g. text/html). Unfortunately the configuration doesn't easily lend itself
to this.
