Please let me know if you have any available resources to *kishore.kani...@cybsearch.com <kishore.kani...@cybsearch.com>* *Position: Sr. Netbackup Consultant* *Location: Chicago, IL * *Length: 3-4 months w/option for additional time * *Overview:* Consultant will be part of a Backup Managed Service solution and will be responsible for developing and maintaining our Backup / Recovery systems. The Sr. Netbackup engineer will be responsible for projects related to data archiving, data replication, backup and recovery, scripting tasks, providing performance analysis and resolution and functionality of the Netbackup environment. The candidate should also have a strong understanding of IT backup policies and procedures and how they can be used to support the corporate records retention policies. The candidate must have significant background in networking, Windows, Linux/Unix, and deduplication technologies. Candidate should be willing to rotate 2nd-level on call responsibilities. *Requirements:* 1. *Must have 4- 5+ years of related work experience with Symantec Netbackup*, including backing up SQL, Exchange, Oracle RMAN, NDMP and using NetBackup Deduplication options including OST devices and AIR. a. Prior experience with complex IT infrastructure.(1000+ servers) *2. **Must have some Netapp knowledge. Doesn't have to be an expert like the Netbackup side, but at least needs to be comfortable with the basics of NetApp. * 3. *Certification in Netbackup 7.X is preferred* 4. Work independently on managing day-to-day operations *5. *Participate in projects related to re-engineering and potentially re-architecting the environment over time. 6. Candidate should have experience with different tape library technologies and be able to fine tune buffers and determine performance bottlenecks during tape-out activities. 7. Candidate should be able to identify issues based off of error code and be able to investigate appropriate logs to determine the root cause and provide & document a resolution 8. Candidate should be comfortable in performing master & media server version upgrades and configuration of SLPs, MSDPs, storage units, storage unit groups, and disk resources. 9. Candidate should be able to significantly knowledgeable in Netbackup command line and be able to produce scripts & systems for the rest of the team to utilize in managing the Netbackup environment 10. Capability to document processes, procedures, resolutions, and infrastructure diagrams is required. 11. Significant experience in OpsCenter reporting would be preferred. 12. Brocade SAN fabric management and General SAN performance knowledge would be preferred.
