I think that a great integration is Underway because the similar products of these two giants will be become in a super only one at the end. This to decrease the costs and emphasize in the quality and performance of the new one integrated. They either create a new one product of the integration of two or one of the two will be killed once and for all.
This perpective will not be alone in the software. For the hardware, Oracle is going to make one of its Best deals on my humble point of view by virtue for the capabilty, capacity and performance for the SUN's-former-became-now-ORACLE's'machines. Also, ORACLE is automatically becoming in a Super Giant, since is going to take the JAVA all in one. Finally, I think UNIX and SOLARIS will be more interweaved than never.
