The GIMP is great for photo image editing.

But does anybody where I can find a decent drawing illustrator package
for Linux?

What do you want from "decent"? StarOffice includes a drawing tool. It's
not anywhere near the level of CorelDraw and such, but it's got
capabilities comparable with other office-type drawing tools.

Hi. The broken mailing-list software that this mailing list uses, will
accept subscriptions without requiring confirmations. This means that when
a spammer revenge-subscribes me to thousands of mailing lists, your broken
mailing-list software aids and abets him.

I will not unsubscribe from a list I did not subscribe to. You will fix
your broken mailing-list software.

Broken Key-Eventhandler in Java

1999-09-01 Thread Christoph Christ

Hi!
I got a weird problem here. When I want to to use a key event-handler,
nothing happens. (In Version to 1.1.7). 1.1.8 I didn't try out. in 1.2
the keyevent handler is working again, but i have to press a mouse button
before key events come thru. What could be wrong? In Netscape 4.61 this
broken support ist included too - so I can't use neither JavaScript nor
Java with Netscape.
Does anybody have an idea?

OT: Mailing list control

1999-09-01 Thread Charles Forsythe

Hey, is it possible to setup "read-only" participants? You know, so they
continue to get the wisdom of Java-Linux mailing list, but can't send anything
to the list?

Mr. Reitwiesner's request is not unreasonable. He didn't ask to get on
this list... it was someone else's idea of a joke or revenge. The topic
of using better mailing-list software has come up before, but it never
seems to get anywhere. Such software is freely available.
