j2sdk as the default JRE for applets in Netscape
i've installed the Blackdown j2sdk v1.3.1-FCS on my RedHat v6.2 based Linux system. i've also installed the Java Plug-in to Netscape v4.75. the Control Panel applet and the demo applets at Sun's Java Plug-in web page seem to be running well and Netscape's Help / About Plug-ins reports the Java Plug-in being registered. now i'd like to make the j2sdk the default JRE for running applets. is that possible? i saw someone mentioning that there should be a 'use Java Plug-in' option near 'Enable Java' in Edit / Preferences / Advanced but i don't get that in my browser. best regards, -- aspa -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". You need a newer netscape, the option was introduced in 4.77. Hmmm. My Netscape 4.77 has the option but it is disabled. Are you aware of some way to get it enabled? Thanks, -pmr -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Does the plugin work for 'plugin'-applets?
What happens if you add 'user_pref("browser.java.usePlugin", true);'
to ~/.netscape/preferences.js?
