I get this at times with Outlook 2000. I have not found a way to correct
it. What does help is once you open the message hit the Ctrl key to silence
then JAWS Insert key plus down arrow

If smart reading is turned on, a phone number reads in a block as in Word
and the "hyphen" is not
pronounced - the Smart Word Reading feature is application dependent.
So, if Microsoft Word normally reads the entire text unit as one word or
number, then JAWS will do the same.

For example, in the sentence, "She is my sister-in-law," if the cursor
is placed anywhere on the word "sister," JAWS would say "sister."
However, in JAWS 8.0 with Smart Word Reading, JAWS will say the entire
compound word, "sister-in-law."

Likewise, in the sentence, "The appointment was at 2:00 P.M.," JAWS
would say "colon" if the cursor was placed between the digit 2 and the
colon. In JAWS 8.0 with Smart Word Reading, JAWS will say the entire
text unit as two o'clock.

If the cursor is placed between the dash and the 444 in the telephone
number 1-800-444-4443, previous JAWS versions would say, "444." In JAWS
8.0 with Smart Word Reading, JAWS reads the entire telephone number as,
"1-800-444-4443." pausing where there is a hyphen.

[JAWS-Users] Re: Internet error

2007-05-18 Thread Victor Gouveia
Hi Patti,

I don't believe that David has this program on his site.

This is not a free program, and requires a one time fee for it's use, albeit a
small fee.

It can update automatically, and can be set to update on a regular basis.

It can also be set up to run a scan at the Windows boot up, or at regular
intervals, or just when you decide you need it run.

I'll e-mail you off-list with the site where you can download a free trial
version, and the tweaks you will need to accomplish before you run your first
scan of your system.

Hi list,
I have downloaded Internet Explorer 7 onto my desktop. When I run this file
to install I E 7, does that automatically replace I E 6? I read on the list
before, if I want to later uninstall I E 7, then internet explorer 6 will
automatically come back-is this true? I take it then, I should not delete I
