David, I believe I read on this list that if one uninstalls IE7, IE6 would
automatically replace it. Is that really true or do I have to install iE6
 from a download?

No since jaws 7 does not have built in support for IE 7. You will need at
least 7.1 but 8.0 would be better.

Has most of the bugs been worked out with I E 7? If so, should I go
 ahead
 and upgrade now? I am
using JAWS 7.0 and Windows XP.

All right here is the list of programs I have available to me, the
 question
is I'm looking for opinions on which is best to use.
 file Zillah
 FTP edit
 send to FTP.
FTP explorer which is what I'm using right now.
I even have a trial version of FTP Voyager and would bye it if somebody
convinced me it was a worth wild venture.
I think we covered this in the past but I'd still like a few other
 thoughts
 on the matter is all.

There are file recovery programs, but I can't point you to any specific
 one
that's free. The _real_ problem with recovering deleted files is the way
 the
file system works. If you've had _any_ hard disk activity at all since
deleting those files; and in Windows, it's virtually impossible not to
 have,
since the swap file, if nothing else, guarantees hard drive activity; it's
very possible that the space that was being used by the files you deleted
may have already been reassigned and used by some other file. When you
delete a file, you don't _really_ delete the file, only the entry for it
 in
(I think this is right) the file allocation table, or FAT. The actual file
contents remain on the drive. When you try to recover the deleted file,
 the
first thing the program does is to check the entry in the FAT, go to the
address that's stored there for the start of the file data on the disk,
 then
it makes sure that all of the blocks that were assigned to the file you
deleted are still assigned to that file. If some other program has written
over even one block that was assigned to your old file, the file chain
 will
be broken and the file will be unrecoverable.

There used to be a program that was included as part of the Norton
 Utilities
package that would recover files and it was completely accessible. I'm
 sure
that there are programs around today that will work with all versions of
Windows that would be equally accessible--there's nothing inherent in the
nature of such a program that would make it inaccessible, since there's
 very
 little to be displayed.
