[JAWS-Users] Re: MS Word formatting
TEST - Original Message - From: Alan Terrie Robbins [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2007 11:01 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] MS Word formatting Good morning all, Figured I'd drop the group a quick note and questions before departing for work. Yesterday I was working on a rather long and extensive MS Word document at work and had to make many changes in one section. The problem I was having was the section contained a lot of special text formatting, indents, etc. I got very frustrated trying to block the section and just make it all plain text and start over. What I finally did was block and copy the section, saved it as plain text, and then copied and pasted it back into the document. My question is: Is there a quick way in Word 2000 to block a section of text and remove ALL formatting etc? thanks Al -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. The links list itself doesn't make much sense, anyway. (They are weird names.) However, my JAWS read the page when I turned Flash off in the JAWS verbosity and my JAWS didn't crash. [BTW, my name doesn't have an a at the end, and not female.] - Original Message - From: Doug Leavens To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2007 3:19 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: A really nasty website??? I tried what you suggested. Now, jaws reads the page, and shuts up completely. Can't get the links list to talk or any of the navigation keys! Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: A really nasty website??? Two things you could try, in relation to the persistent Flash: First, Go into the JAWS verbosity with Jaws+v, andarrow down or hit f until Flash is highlighted. Turn Flash off by toggling with the spacebar. then, if you're going to be returning to the site, you can personalize settings for this page. For this, hit Jaws+Shift+v, and again choose Flash and toggle it to off. This means that, for the version of JAWS in current use, The Flash will always be off when it sees this site until you alter the personalized settings. . - Original Message - From: Doug Leavens To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2007 2:04 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] A really nasty website??? cud you make a coppy of the disk and poast it to me? - Original Message - From: Denny Huff [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Friday, December 22, 2006 12:58 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: Real Speak Voices Donnie, At the present time, the only way I know of getting the voices is on a CD with Jaws version 8. I guess that somebody could make a copy of their CD and mail it to you. Or possibly zip it up and post it on one of those large file transfer sites. I would do that for you, but I only have dial up here and it would take forever to upload since it would be so large. I fined jaws sometimes can bee temperamental just persevere with it - Original Message - From: Ricque [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Thursday, December 21, 2006 11:37 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: PROBLEM WITH JAWS AND THE DESKTOP If you downloaded Jaws from Freedom Scientific, then locate that file and hit enter. This should launch the installer, which will detect that Jaws is already installed, and give you the repair or modify options. You can leave the shared components if you wish. If that doesn't work, try un-installing, and then re-installing Jaws. Hi Jason, The following was taken from the Jaws help topics. Enhanced Edit Support If you select this check box, JAWS provides enhanced support for edit and rich edit areas. This feature allows for increased accuracy while reading text in these areas. In addition, enhanced edit support allows JAWS to recognize an extended selection of text attributes and better detect languages automatically. However, you may experience reduced responsiveness while using certain programs. This check box is cleared by default. Smart Word Reading In previous releases, when issuing the Say Word command, JAWS would only read the current word or character when the cursor was positioned on a text unit, such as a compound
