Re: [JAWS-Users] creating a replacement hot key for jaws 10
Hello Allen; ok, I'm assuming your new jaws, is jaws10 right? 1, desktop, and highlight the new jaws icon. 2, press alt+enter=properties/shortcut page. 3, now tab until you hear, shortcut key, hotkey none, here you would type the shortcut you wish to use, example, alt+ctrl+0, then press enter. note, after doing this, you may want to check to see that the shortcut key has been created. if this doesn't work you can, navigate to the start menu, P=programs, now, press the letter J until you hear the version of jaws you want to create the shortcut for. right arrow to open the sub-menu, Up-arrow until you hear jaws, press the applications key, up arrow until you hear, properties, press enter. again, tab until you hear, shortcut hotkey none. again type the desired hotkey, now, tab apply, press enter. now, tab back around, to see if your desired hotkey is their. I hope this helps. - Original Message - From: "allen dunbar" To: Sent: Tuesday, March 17, 2009 6:10 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] creating a replacement hot key for jaws 10 hi David I want to create a hot key to suit the new version of jaws as the other one is directed to the older version that I am not running any longer - Original Message - From: "David Whitehead" To: Sent: Tuesday, March 17, 2009 5:00 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] creating a replacement hot key for jaws 10 Hello Allen; are you asking how to change a current hotkey for jaws? or, are you wanting to create a hotkey, for another version of jaws. - Original Message - From: "allen dunbar" To: Sent: Tuesday, March 17, 2009 5:52 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] creating a replacement hot key for jaws 10 how does one create a new hot key for the new version of jfw thanks Allen Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Visit the Blind Computing home page at: http://www.blind-computing.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To post to this group, send email to jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to jaws-users-list-le...@jaws-users.com For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: jaws-users-list-requ...@jaws-users.com Use the following address in order to contact the management team jaws-users-list-ow...@jaws-users.com If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: blind-computing-j...@jaws-users.com Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Visit the Blind Computing home page at: http://www.blind-computing.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To post to this group, send email to jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to jaws-users-list-le...@jaws-users.com For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: jaws-users-list-requ...@jaws-users.com Use the following address in order to contact the management team jaws-users-list-ow...@jaws-users.com If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: blind-computing-j...@jaws-users.com Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Visit the Blind Computing home page at: http://www.blind-computing.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To post to this group, send email to jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to jaws-users-list-le...@jaws-users.com For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: jaws-users-list-requ...@jaws-users.com Use the following address in order to contact the management team jaws-users-list-ow...@jaws-users.com If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: blind-computing-j...@jaws-users.com Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Visit the Blind Computing home page at: http://www.blind-computing.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To post to this group, send email to jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to jaws-users-list-le...@jaws-users.com For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: jaws-users-list-requ...@jaws-users.com Use the following address in order to contact the management team jaws-users-list-ow...@jaws-users.com If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: blind-computing-j...@jaws-users.com

Wait for the memory test to be completed, then close the web page that appears. You should now land on a dummy check box. 3. Press the applications key to open a context menu, down arrow to settings and press enter. The Programme Settings dialogue box appears, with the categories tree gaining focus. 4. Tab until you hear, "enable skins for simple user interface check box checked". Press space to uncheck it. 5. Tab to ok and press enter. You'll land back on the dummy check box. 6. Close and restart Avast. You should now be able to tab through the controls in this programme. Configuring JAWS to read lists in Avast: 1. Make sure that you're focused on the Avast Simple User Interface. 2. Press JAWS key 6 to open Configuration Manager. 3. Press enter to accept the New Configuration File dialogue box. 4. Press alt s to open the set options menu, then press a. The advanced Options dialogue box appears. 5. Shift tab till you hear, "Rely on MSAA for List Views check box not checked". Press space to check it. 6. Press enter to activate the ok button. 7. Either press control s to save your configuration file immediately, or press alt F4, pressing enter to activate the yes button on the confirm dialogue box. By doing these steps, you'll resolve an issue on some machines whereby JAWS stops speaking when focused on any of the lists in Avast. Hi, for a complete scan, check all local disks, check archives, move the slider to 100% (thorough scan), and click start. Hope that helps. Hi all, please don't worry about messages like that. It just means that Avast couldn't scan the files in that archive because it was password protected. What you can do is tab to the action button, hit space on that, arrow to delete, press enter, ensure that delete file(s) permanently is checked, activate the delete button, enter on that, and the results should refresh with the new data. Don't worry; I don't think it deletes the archives found to have been "locked", but I'm not sure about that one. I'll check this out. Hope that helps. - Original Message - From: "stewart ross" To: Sent: Tuesday, March 17, 2009 4:21 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] anti-virus software compatible with JAWS hi can u tell me if there step by step details on how to use this software and how to turn off the skins? many thanks from stewart ross tune in to http://laserhothits.servemp3.com:8130/listen.pls email stewartr...@sky.com msn stewart-r...@hotmail.co.uk skype stewartross - Original Message - From: "Stanley Smith" To: Sent: Thursday, March 05, 2009 9:20 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] anti-virus software compatible with JAWS >I use Avast! 4 Home Edition and it works quite well with Jaws once you turn > the skins for the simple user interface off. > Stanley > > > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: > http://www.jaws-users.com > Visit the Blind Computing home page at: > http://www.blind-computing.com > Address for the list archives: > http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > To post to this group, send email to > jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to > jaws-users-list-le...@jaws-users.com > For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject > or body of a blank message to: > jaws-users-list-requ...@jaws-users.com > Use the following address in order to contact the management team > jaws-users-list-ow...@jaws-users.com > If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the > following address: > blind-computing-j...@jaws-users.com Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Visit the Blind Computing home page at: http://www.blind-computing.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To post to this group, send email to jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to jaws-users-list-le...@jaws-users.com For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: jaws-users-list-requ...@jaws-users.com Use the following address in order to contact the management team jaws-users-list-ow...@jaws-users.com If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: blind-computing-j...@jaws-users.com Visit the JAWS Users List hom

[JAWS-Users] Deleating didgits from within a Word document
Hi, I am using Word 2007 with XP Professional and Jaws 10 professional. When I use Control F, to find the various digits in a story, I type it in and press "Find next", but it doesn't just stop at the next occurrence to allow me to delete it. I tried using Escape, but that also does not work. Are there any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
