Hi Chris
yes the application stops working and your correct when you state the OS
doesn't stop working which technicly is a hang, the application states that
it needs to be shut down because it is not responding. Although sometimes
when you use windows explorer again without reboot it responded, which
rarely happened in early versions of windows.

The computer stops working and a reboot is required to get it working.
This is a system hang. An application hang is when the application
currently focused hangs but not necessarily the OS.

I didn't think there could be because I searched every where, I am using
a
dongle with jaws 11.0734. I have only had the system less than a week,
seems

quite stable, I am not sure about the task bar come tool bar and arrowing
across. It seems that there are 3 buttons as default internet, windows
explorer and media player. When I load windows explorer off this task
bar

everything is OK, if I use windows E, then it some times hangs.

[JAWS-Users] Wordpress version 2.5

2010-02-19 Thread The Bates Family
Hi listers:

I've recently started learning about how to blog. I'm taking an Internet course
using Wordpress. I started out using Wordpress 2.9 but found out from the
instructor that version 2.5 is much easier to use with adaptive equipment. She
let me try out a modified version of 2.5 on her site and it is easier to
navigate with JAWS.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this version? I checked out
wordpress.org, but all they offer is the latest version. Why would anyone make
a newer version less adaptable? Anyway, if anyone knows where I can find, or
can get me a copy of version 2.5 let me know off list. Take care, Barbara

I have heard that some developers packaging their scripts directly with
Inno
setup were successfully able to create a 64 vit package. There is a
single
line needed to be added to the ISS file to enable it to properly handle
the

64 bit registry. The following line needs to be added to the [Setup]
section of the ISS file:
ArchitecturesInstallIn64BitMode=x64 ia64

This will not effect operation on 32 bit systems.

Unfortunately, I think the current version of the JAWS Scripts Exchange
(JSX) program, which uses Inno Setup, simply adding this line is not
enough!

I have not gotten it to work yet. However, I have not attempted to update
Inno Setup separately. I would like to get this to work as well, but can
not test it by myself because I do not have a 64 bit system available!

[JAWS-Users] question on pre-loaded back up/sync software on Seagate FreeAgent Go 1 TB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive and jaws

2010-02-19 Thread CrisMunoz54
Hello list,

I am looking to buy the Seagate FreeAgent Go 1 TB USB 2.0 Portable External
Hard Drive and was wondering if anyone's had a chance to deal with the
included synchronization software that comes with it? Drives I've had in the
past have come with back up/sync programs and for the most part, they
havent' been that accessible. Memio comes to mind. In any event, I was just
curious if from other's experiences if this pre-loaded software is pretty
much the same or if it's more manageable with Jaws.

You can check out the page for more specs at:
http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-FreeAgent-Portable-External-ST910004FAA2E1-RK/
dp/B002SYYO3A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8s=electronicsqid=1266614599sr=1-2

If worse comes to worse, I guess I can do the whole cut and paste method,
but I would if possible like to be able to do automatic back ups and so on.
Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

[JAWS-Users] Troubles with JAWS and AIM

2010-02-19 Thread Kevin Roggeman
Hello, I am using JAWS 11 with Windows 7 Ultimate. I am unable to get JAWS
to work with AIM. Whenever I am in a conversation window I can not use the
Alt+1 through Alt+0 to read the conversation. The computer just dings when
I hit it. If I hit the keystroke twice quickly, JAWS states that the
Conversation Window could not be found. I am using version 6 of AIM. I
have tried version 7 along with different versions of 6 with no luck. I
have uninstalled and Installed JFW and everything I could think of, but
still it will not work. Anybody else have any suggestions?

Thanks,

I saw it on amazon, but New Egg, Tiger Direct Buy.com and so on carry it
too. Just copy and paste the following into either Amazon's search field or
any old search engine:
Seagate FreeAgent Go 1 TB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive

I've got about 900 gb of stuff and I'm looking for a back up for my other
external drive and figured why not get a portable one instead of another
power cord desk top set up type of deal. That's why I'm interested in this
particular model. I believe Western Digital has a portable drive with the
same capacity, but the SeaGate has better reviews. The back up program is
the only thing I wanted a bit more information. Other then that, it looks
like a solid buy.
