Oh guess what! My hubby has that problem with his, not our local towns! Used
to, all the buttons were accessible, but they changed after we had to revamp
his computer. Don't know if it was them or the computer!

Hi,
I have magic jack. I ultimately needed someone with vision to finish
filling out the form. I could only get so far with it. I have jaws 12 but
also switched to jaws 10 and 11 to try to do it on my own. I couldn't.
Now, when you are filling out the form listen for the section that lets
you choose to use a phone or the computer. I made this mistake and I had
to go back and switch it.
The problem I have now is that I can only use certain numbers to call so
there must be a field for me to go back to in order to make all calls. I
don't know what it is yet but I can only call a handful of numbers - but
oddly enough not my own town or surrounding towns. This must be a buttton
or box to check while registering. So watch for this.

As far as the connection I find it is excellent.
Thanks,
Patrick

[JAWS-Users] Vinux with Image for Linux Instructions

2011-04-10 Thread Don Marang
I have updated the instructions and dead links in the previous
instructions for creating a talking, bootable
Vinux dvd with Image for Linux restore software installed. It also
contains lots of linux packages to recover Windows passwords, recover
lost files, non-destructive partitioning tools, disk tests, memory
tests, virus scans, and much more.

I also have a much easier set of instructions to create a similar
installation onto a typical 4 GB or greater USB Flash drive! It is
faster, smaller, and has the capability to retain up to 4 GB of user
data in "persistent" storage. I am still testing the instructions for
doing this with Vinux 3.1. I have already checked out the prefered
Vinux 3.0.1 instructions. This version is better supported and there is
a zip file, designed for this directly from the VinuxProject.org web site.

I keep one of these Vinux Emergency Rescue devices tucked away, ready
for almost anything!

Check it out on the Vinux Wicky at:

Re: [JAWS-Users] ? re write speed combo box in Image for Windowssettings

2011-04-10 Thread David Ferrin
Leave compression at the default or optimal. Under file size select 2 GB and
for burn speed choose the fastest as it seems your DVD burner is not going
to burn so fast that it will cause any errors. The good thing is once you
get it set you can save those settings.

Sorry for stupid question #xxx :) but-I'm still confused about what JAWS
calls that combo box and what I should choose.

I'm puzzled that Jaws calls that box 'BACK UP FILE SIZE' but it seems to be
write speed instead.

Second stupid question of the day- There is nothing in the box faster than
4x for DVDs- and both my device and the discs are rated 16- so should I let
windows choose and select 'Optimal' instead?

You are reading it incorrectly. It is giving you the DVD speed compared to
CD speed. I always use single layer disks but you can use double disks if
you wish. In fact I might get some one fine day to cut down on the total

Your DVDs should indicate on the package but if you are in doubt then drop

2011-04-10 Thread Jeffrey Greenlee
I have been using it for a while and had no problem with it. Of course in
the player when you watch a movie online is not accessible though. but the
volume you can get to in the volume control if you want to raise it or lower
it.

Re: [JAWS-Users] ? re write speed combo box in Image for Windows settings

2011-04-10 Thread Don & Cher Bosch
Ok... The manual did not explain that combo box that I could find. So it
must be giving the CD speed first, right? I read that DVD speed is 1/8 that
of CD I believe. Thanks for responding.

You are reading it incorrectly. It is giving you the DVD speed compared to
CD speed. I always use single layer disks but you can use double disks if
you wish. In fact I might get some one fine day to cut down on the total
number of disks in an image.

Am I interpreting the combo box correctly- that is, that the 16-2x means a
dual layer disc? I am assuming that I cannot use that one if the discs are
single layer- am I crazy? Thanks.

Your DVDs should indicate on the package but if you are in doubt then drop
the speed down. Just make sure you verify everything because fast won't
matter if the image isn't created successfully. So check all of the boxes in

that section.

My DVD device and discs are both 16x- but discs are single layer, I think.
So would it be correct that I need to drop down to the 8-1x write speed
since the only listed 16 looks like it must be for a dual-layer DVD? Sorry
if the question is awkward- the DVD writing stuff is all new to me ;)

  Hi,
I have magic jack. I ultimately needed someone with vision to finish
filling out the form. I could only get so far with it. I have jaws 12 but
also switched to jaws 10 and 11 to try to do it on my own. I couldn't.
Now, when you are filling out the form listen for the section that lets
you
choose to use a phone or the computer. I made this mistake and I had to
go
  back and switch it.
The problem I have now is that I can only use certain numbers to call so
there must be a field for me to go back to in order to make all calls. I
don't know what it is yet but I can only call a handful of numbers - but
oddly enough not my own town or surrounding towns. This must be a buttton
or
box to check while registering. So watch for this.

As far as the connection I find it is excellent.
  Thanks,
  Patrick
