[JAWS-Users] Don't Install Rapport

2011-05-29 Thread Jerry Berrier
Bank of America has just come out with a new program called Rapport that is
supposed to supplement antivirus software in protecting online
communications. I am running XP, IE 8, and Jaws 12, latest update. I
installed Rapport, and it protected me by making Internet Explorer 8.0
totally unusable. No links on any page I went to. I tried using the
Rapport console to shut down; no luck. Unable to shut it down, and unable
to uninstall it from the control panel. When I tried uninstalling, a web
page came up which I browsed with the Jaws cursor. I clicked on Chat with a
representative, and it said sorry, nobody is available.

I ended up having to do a system restore to get rid of it.

I'll be curious to know if others have success with this program.

Yes, I've already sent a message to Bank of America.

Hi,
I'm trying to install jaws on a 64 bit laptop.
I tried using the dvd but only a few items were installed but not the
jaws speaking program.
Then I downloaded jaws 11 so as to avoid 12. I then installed jaws 11 and
used my authorization disc I have from v 10. It would not accept it.

Next I downloaded v 10 and used the v10 authorization disc.
I receive an error message stating that I need to call fs to get any
further authorizations.

is there something I am missing. Shouldn't it be taking the authorization
disc?

Thanks,
Patrick

Hi Patrick;

Follow the steps below to find out how many activation keys you have left.

I posted a question to FS about how to determine the number of activation
keys remaining. In case any of you wanted to find out, here are their
instructions, verbatim:

Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific Support.

We suggest going to FSACTIVATE.com

http://www.fsactivate.com
2. Click on the continue product activation button.
3. Down arrow to: Verify the number of activation keys available for
your Freedom Scientific product and press enter.
4. Down arrow to serial number and again down arrow to edit.
Type in your JAWS serial number and press enter on the submit button.
5. Underneath the first seven digits of the authorization number, you
will find the number of keys remaining.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact
us.

Hope this helps. Take care.

nope, you used up your keys on the web and you are at zero keys and you
will need to go and ask for more keys.

2011-05-29 Thread Hans Pauli Sundstein

Hi Patrick.

If your version of Windows 7 is Enterprice or Ultimate, and you only have
the standard Jaws license, than you cannot register, because these versions
needs pro license of Jaws.

You ust also be sure, that you have upgrades in your license, while you have
inserted the disk for Jaws 10, and if this is the last version you have
license for, than you must upgrade first.

Good luck.

Hans Pauli.

I am late on this thread because my XP burned up on May 11. I now have an XP
pro, Open Book 8, an USB to parrallel connector and Braille Blazie. Would
you give me some direction as to how these can interact to produce braille.
I had used my Blazie with a 486 machine which demised and had a poor

When I ask for some direction, at 81 years, I guess I mean as much detail as
you will supply..

Thanks for any assistance.
