1. On the Tools menu, enter on Options.
Alt+t=tools, O=options.

2. In the Options dialog box, on the Mail Format tab, click Editor Options.
So, after going into options, you land on the prefferences tab, shift+tab

3. Enter on proofing, and then enter on AutoCorrect Options.

4. Choose Tab AutoFormat as you Type
Here you can make the changes.

Hello.

First: the note below fixed it in MS Word, so thanks.
Now each time I am typing an email to someone in MS Outlook 2007, and say
type the number1 then a period and then some test and then hit enter,
Outlook 2007 automatically adds a number 2 in the next line. The sequence of
menu items to hit as suggested for Word don't exist for Outlook 2007. How do
I permanently set outlook 2007 so it does not auto number any more each time

Hi Prateek,

I found what's below in my Word notes but, I have never tried it. You can
give the following a try;

In Word 2007,
click the Office button, Word Options, and Proofing; click the AutoCorrect
Options button; select the AutoFormat As You Type button; remove the
checkmarks from the Automatic Bulleted Lists and Automatic Numbered Lists,
click OK, and click OK again. Hope this helps. Take care.

  hello all.

IN MS Word 2007 when I type the number1 followed by a period , then a
space then some text and then at the end of the sentence I just typed if I
hit enter to jump to the next line, then Word automatically adds a number2
there and so on. I want to permanently remove this behavior in any MS Word
doc I open on my Win7 PC.

I David the moderator posted one of his daily tips a while back to undo
this default behavior but as is often the case that process broke down
because at some point in the steps you couldn't do it with JAWS.

How do I remove this auto numbering behavior permanently?

Hi,

I need to find a calculator which lets you control the number of
decimals with which the result is displayed. The Calculator built in to
Windows apparently is lacking that feature.

Anyone found a JAWS compatible calculator program that lets you do that?

Thanks in advance.

completed the 4 1/2 hour class on using outlook 2010 which was given in

the classes and use them at your own convenience. The training materials

With frequently used keys, they can get stuck over time, have dust debris
under them, or slip off their base depending on the use.

I would recommend gently popping the troublesome keys off, clean under them
with a qtip and reset. If this does not work, I would simply use an external
keyboard.

Before you do anything else, see if you can get yourself a USB keyboard.
They aren't very expensive for the basic ones.
Next, plug it in and make sure that the Jaws setting for keyboard is on

Now, if you did spill something in there as some of the other members have
indicated, tha keyboard may be the only way you can make the computer

If it doesn't work, you might have shorted out some of the primary control

I hear you, I have a wireless full keyboard I use with my netbook when I am

but... unless they have a need/wish for wireless I'd go hard wire, why?

no batteries to die at just the wrong time, I carry a 20 pack of spare
batteries (useable in both the keyboard and my MP3 player for traveling,
lol!) in my gaming case, but even carrying a extra pair of batteries can be
a nuisance when your trying to keep it effective but simple!

love my wireless, don't get me wrong, I can flip the comp around, use the
screen to show displays of items to the sighted players and can if I wish
set up a sound file for my wife who is the only other non-sighted player in
the group and run it through the second sound card by selecting which player
I play it with!

I'm thinking of putting a set of custom knobs on the sides of the keyboard
and using a guitar strap to hold the thing at waist level when I stand up,
so I can walk around and narrate while manipulating the computer and it's
displays! grins

anyone got the name and location of an inexpensive set of wireless
headphones that don't cost that which one does not wish to lose! and sounds
half way decent?

so you know there are ways to make 9 look/work more like 8 if you wish, send

I hear you, I have a wireless full keyboard I use with my netbook when I am
running a RPG game at the shop (actually a coffee house these days).

but... unless they have a need/wish for wireless I'd go hard wire, why?

no batteries to die at just the wrong time, I carry a 20 pack of spare
batteries (useable in both the keyboard and my MP3 player for traveling,
lol!) in my gaming case, but even carrying a extra pair of batteries can be
a nuisance when your trying to keep it effective but simple!

love my wireless, don't get me wrong, I can flip the comp around, use the
screen to show displays of items to the sighted players and can if I wish
set up a sound file for my wife who is the only other non-sighted player in
the group and run it through the second sound card by selecting which player
I play it with!

I'm thinking of putting a set of custom knobs on the sides of the keyboard
and using a guitar strap to hold the thing at waist level when I stand up,
so I can walk around and narrate while manipulating the computer and it's
displays! grins

anyone got the name and location of an inexpensive set of wireless
headphones that don't cost that which one does not wish to lose! and sounds
half way decent?

They sure do make some honey of these wireless keyboards. Mine is a
Microsoft wireless bluetooth 3000 with a range of 30 feet, works perfect
with the laptop. I just plugged in the tiny device into a USB, windows did
 the rest..

I purchased this from Amazon.com for $40.00 around the holidays.

friends, if the driver got corrupted you could get a similar effect, yes
 get
a USB keyboard, then run the diagnostics for the keyboard and its driver
 in
device manager, and go from there.

the other suggestions are valid... I'm not debating this, but I would
 check
the software first since it's fixable, run a chkdsk to make sure the drive
is working correctly and then run a scandisk to check the main OS files as
 best as one can

if your used to the small laptop style keyboard they do make ones that are
 similar to it for sale.

 Donny,
Before you do anything else, see if you can get yourself a USB keyboard.
They aren't very expensive for the basic ones.
Next, plug it in and make sure that the Jaws setting for keyboard is on
 Laptop, not Desktop.
Now, if you did spill something in there as some of the other members
 have
indicated, tha keyboard may be the only way you can make the computer
 function.
If it doesn't work, you might have shorted out some of the primary
 control
circuits. Tbhat would be like holding down a key permanently since the
contacts open when you press a key.
If that has happened, that USB keyboard might not work. But Donny, it
 is
 certainly worth a try.
Been there, done that if you know what I mean.

2012-01-28 Thread rich

I kind of like it.
It works a lot easier than Google.
Is there a way to adjust the settings to get more than 10 searches?
Also, there seemed to be more porn crap in the listings, is there a filter
that is suggested?
I recently upgraded to I E 8 and maybe there is a filter setting here that I
forgot about while in I E 7.

For anyone using JAWS installing TapinRadio, from www.tapinradio.com ,
check the checkbox for screen-reader user you will meet with after you
accept the licence agreement. Changing a home page because, is a nuisance,
happily avoided once you check that checkbox above. My experience of
babylon.com is as spyware - it surreptitiously installed a toolbar on my
computer.

I'm sure there are many others like me who want to stop using the Google
search engine, even the accessible google site. the reasons can be
various. so if you missed the Serotek Podcast this week try out and
adopt the following search engine:

www.duckduckgo.com

very clean, very effective (surely no less effective than google, much
less data mining on you, and use the same alphanumeric syntax in the
edit field to sharpen and narrow your searches if you want. And totally
accessible. It does not force their idea on what your search terms
should be as you type them in. As in google, h for heading hops u from
search result to search result. a

Daily Tip:
Word: Change Save Format

By default, Word 2010 saves to the DOCX format. If you regularly save documents
to a different format (such as DOC, the format used by older versions of Word),
you can make that format the default. Click the File tab and then click
Options. Click the Save tab and then click the drop-down menu next to Save
Files In This Format. Finally, click the OK button.

consists of information about the user, such as the user's name and the
password required to access the system, in addition to information about which
files and programs the individual can use.
