Hi, Barry,

In JAWS 13.0.638 what I do is
1. Press insert-v for quick settings; JAWS says Quick settings Excel
dialog, search box, edit.
2. Tab once. JAWS says Excel settings, open, 8 items.
3. Arrow down once, JAWS says, formatting open, one item. 4. Press the
letter 't' twice. Now I'm in the list of title reading options.

Good luck!

2012-03-20 Thread Flor Lynch
Subsequently I found that I don't have a formatting option in the Quick
Settings! Excel 2002. Ann mentions Excel 2003. but the Quick Settings
doesn't even look like it would contain formatting, since it's general
verbosity and not specific to Excel although the settings should pertain
to Excel. I thought I could sove the confusion, but with JAWS13.0.718,
can't.

[JAWS-Users] Silencing cell coordinates

2012-03-20 Thread Dan Rossi
OK, I realize the issue is with JAWS 13 and Excel 2007 I think. SO I
apologize if this is just useless list traffic.

With JAWS 12 and Excel 2010, I use insert v, then arrow down to Reading
Options and set it to Cell contents only.

I am guessing that this does not work in JAWS 13? I have JFW 13 on
another box, here, but oddly enough Excel is not on that particular box,
so can't test this out.

No, but there is software that you can use to download those files to
your computer.
Would suggest a search on google, because there are a lot of them, or
some body on here may have one.

If your watching the video. you can add them to your play list, but
you have to use the left mouse key. Then arrow down to pick

Hi

One thing to try is to open the JAWS settings Center with JAWSkey+f6. Press
control+shift+d to open the default settings. Type Allow wave in the
control+shift+search
box. Then arrow down one time to the setting Allow wave files with software
synthesizers. If it's not checked, press space bar to check it. Then press
enter or tab to the ok button and press enter. You then have to restart
JAWS for the setting to take effect.

Thanks for all the neat shortcuts and info about this player. Now, if only

[JAWS-Users] Cell coordinates with Braile.

2012-03-20 Thread Dan Rossi

Bill,

You are in luck. I had a few minutes to kill so messed around with Excel
and my braille display. Like I said, I am using JFW 12 and Excel 2010, so
your milage may vary.

Go into the settings center, insert 6, while in Excel. get to the braille
settings.

Under the general tab there is a Define Structured mode section. Hit
enter on that.

Now, arrow down until you hit the cell option.

Tab to modify control, and hit enter.

Now you have a list of things that can be displayed, and in what order
they are displayed. Cell coordinates is set as the first item. You can
remove it, move it up or down in the list.

So, I arrowed to cell content, then tabbed to the up button and hit that
until Cell Content was at the top of the list.

I hope that was sufficiently clear to get you there. If not, let me know
and I'll try again.

Re: [JAWS-Users] driver magician

2012-03-20 Thread inthane
yes, a wonderful application. you can update, save, package, and restore
your systems drivers with ease!

an additional note, if you have a little luck, the folks who make this
application usually give there newest version to a place called

www.giveawayoftheday.com

this means you can get a paid for version for free

a couple other useful notes on this app, is that it will package the saved
drivers several ways, including a self installing .exe file so you don't
need there program to reinstall the drivers.

reload the comp run the .exe file and your good to go!

another useful one that gets GAOTD'd each version is called Almeza MultiSet
which will if you have your original windows OS disk/files or a restore
disk, will help you build a set of disks that will reload everything you
would want (which can include jaws) in one shot, I haven't tried it yet but
you could probably include the drivers file as one of the installs, grins

and yes a tutorial would be good, I have the app, have used it minimally,
have the reinstall .exe tucked on my backup drives but don't know everything
about it so the more help the better!

I found this cool little deal last Friday and the free version works very
nicely. I am going to purchase it for a couple of the other features it
offers at $29.95. What this peace of goods does is extract all of the
drivers from a system so you can save them in a safe place. It makes a
distinction between Microsoft and drivers from third party developers. It
knows which drivers get installed during a normal reload so it gives you
the option to save all drivers or just those that windows does not contain
internally.

I tried this on a test system I have here and all drivers came out to
around 88 but the non Microsoft drivers only numbered 7 which I was able
to install without too much stress using the device manager.

So for anybody who has ever fought with systems trying to obtain drivers
after doing a reload this is a deal for you. I ran my auto install disk
with a USB sound card. Popped in a CD of NADA set to auto run installed a
few drivers and then JAWS was ready to lock and load. Total time maybe
some where between two or three hours which includes the Windows install.

I hope somebody out there will benefit from this information. If the
spirit moves me there might be an audio tutorial in there some where. Just
do a search for the program and you'll find it in a matter of a few
seconds.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows Live Configuration Windows 7 Jaws 13?

2012-03-20 Thread Lois Butterfield

Hi Ann Marie.

If you aren't using virtual ribbons, press alt and arrow until you hear
accounts. Arrow down and enter. You'll figure it out from there. I think
it lands you on new account. Then, you'll see an e-mail button. It takes
you through everything.

Good luck.

Lois

Hi John,
Let's try the following:
1. insert f2, press S until you land on setting center and press enter 2.

CTRL shift D for default
3. type in speech and sounds
4 right tab to speech and sound schemes results and right arrow 5. press
m to modify or arrow down until you hear modify schemes dot dot dot and
press space bar 6. Tab and press space bar on edit selected scheme
7. Tab until you land on the first tab, which should be the general tab 8.
Right arrow until you land on the attribute tab 9. Press tab and once you
are in the list, press the first few letters for superscript and you should
hear superscript behavior 10.
Tab and use your up and down arrow keys until you hear ignore.

11.
Now save the scheme.
I hope I did not steer you the wrong way. I am doing this by memory.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws reading issue with Windows mail

2012-03-20 Thread Steve
Its under options. Now, if you don't have the ribbon version, you can get
theere by typing control-shift-o from the inbox. If you have the ribbon, I
don't know if that hotkey will work, and I am not at the computer with WLM
2011 on it right now. But, if you get under options, then go to the REad
tab and you will see a checkbox to read in Plain-Text, uncheck that.

Hi

Same issues here with live mail, I have reported it and I hope it will be
fixed on next update. Hope you are all hitting them with it.

It is awful as it is now, especially when it was perfectly good in the
prior version.
