Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS Not Saying Attachment
I agree, there is no need to label the graphic. Have you made sure that the window is maximized. I have noticed in Windows7 and Office 2010 this is a constant problem. My windows are rarely left maximized. Also make sure that your view has not been changed. Maybe the reading pane is on or some other pane or view is open. I'd like to think that Office 2010 comes with resident gremlins, but the truth is that it is too easy to accidently activate or deactivate something and not know that you have done it. Then there are those mouse users that just can't help themselves to click on those pretty icons that let them so easily change what they are looking at. They do not realize that the simplest change can send JAWS into a tail spin. Is wordpress jaws friendly? The local non profit theater frequently updates events. The process that they do is to make the changes in a word document then copy to a notepad to remove some of the formatting then to wordpress to upload to the server. I thought about volunteering to do it for them. I am pretty sure that the word and notepad would be no problem just worrying about the final step. I will be using jaws 13, win 7 hp. Thank you. I am using Windows7 and I learned something interesting when I went to use your instructions. Since I launch most everything from the Start Menu Edit Box, I had to go looking for Outlook. I first looked on the Desktop. Once I found it I used the applications key and opened up properties. I could not find a Run item in the dialog box. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS Not Saying Attachment
Hello there; You will need to label the graphic. First, open windows live mail. Now send yourself an attachment, Making sure, you'll be able to recognize the subjectline. Next, Press insert+v=adjust jaws setting, Or in jaws 13=quick settings. Now press the letter g until you hear graphics, You need to set the graphics to all, You do this by pressing the spacebar, then press enter. After you receive your message move to the message do not press enter. You now need to: route the jaws cursor to the pc cursor. Insert+minus, If your using a laptop, Capslock-key+left bracket. Navigate to the left of the line and listen to the graphic numbers. The trick is, to be on the right numbered graphic, You may want to Arrow up to the prior message and listen to the graphic numbers there then go back down to the original line. They should be different graphic numbers. If your certain you're on the right graphic for attachment, Press insert+g=activating label graphics, Now type in attachments, Press enter. Note once you finish this exercise, You would want to go back into the insert+v settings, g=graphics, Turn all graphics, to labeled, using the spacebar, Now press enter. Now when you arrow through the messages, jaws should indicate/announce attachments. Hope this helps. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Ryan West Sent: Tuesday, June 19, 2012 3:02 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS Not Saying Attachment I have the same thing going on here I get my attachments but jaws does not say anything about there being an attachment. Hello Rob, When in your list of messages in a folder use Alt+F followed by Alt+T to go to the Outlook options. In the categories list box use the letter A to move to the Advance category. Use Alt+E to move to the checkbox that determines if the deleted folder is emptied when exiting Outlook. Use spacebar to check or uncheck the box. Tab to OK and press enter key. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS Not Saying Attachment
Hi Donnie, If you have maximized the window and adjusted the various panes and JAWS is still not announcing the attachments, you might want to make sure that Outlook is using the attachment icon. When in your list of messages use Alt followed by V followed by V to move into the view settings. (If using the virtual ribbon then use Alt+V followed by V, right arrow into the submenu and down to the View Settings item and press enter to open the dialog box. Use Alt+C to open the Columns dialog. Tab to the list labeled show these columns in this order. Use down arrow and see if Attachments is shown just before the From item. If the attachment choice is not in the list then use shift+tab to the Available columns list and use up or down arrow until you find the Attachments choice. Tab to the Add button and use spacebar. You can then tab into the Show these columns in this order list and find the Attachments choice. You can then tab to the move up or move down buttons and use them until the Attachments item is near the top of the list. It is usually just before the From item. Use the OK button when done. You should then go back into the view settings by using Alt followed by V followed by V and then use Alt+M to open the Format Columns dialog. If using the virtual ribbon then use Alt+V followed by V, right arrow into the submenu and open the View Settings dialog box. Use Alt+M to open the Modify Columns box. Find Attachment in the Available Columns list and tab to the Format combo box. If icon is not the option being used then use up or down arrow key in this combo box and select the icon option. Tab to OK and use spacebar. Take care.
