2012-07-28 Thread Michael Capelle

Hello everyone.
Since updating to the latest JFW, using win 7 home premium 64 bit, ie 9, I
am encountering a lot of issues.
Mainly where the screen is not refreshing, for example, I could be on the
google.com site, go and open a new link, and jfw reads the previous screen
from the google page.

also, I have noticed the system slightly sluggish after install.
anyone else having these issues?

I installed miranda I M as the latest version of windows live messenger
isn't very good. It seems to work well with jaws however, I have a couple
of problems. when I checked the sounds and checked the boxes where it
said, enable sounds, I don't get any sound at all when someone I M's me.
I'm using MSN with miranda. Does anybody know or might be able to please
assist in helping me with how to fix this issue? Many thanks.

Dear Mr. Dave,

I have followed only part of this thread as I do not have access to

Re: [JAWS-Users] Changing the Jaws Start up message

2012-07-28 Thread Lennie

Hi Kerryann,

It sounds like that you did not make the change in Void Function
AutoStartEvent () in Jaws default script

I posted the final step from David. Without this change, Jaws will
not speak your own greeting message

The next step,
Press, the f2key, now I start down arrowing until I hear;
if (DefaultFirstTime == 0) then
here I press the end-key to go to the end of the line,
now I press the enter key.
Here I type in the following;
StartupGreeting ()
Note the lef and right paren
Now I press,
Ctrl+s=compile,
Then alt+f4.
Now unload and reload jaws.
You should hear,
The added script information.

Hope that this will help you. Take care.

Lennie

I guess I'm missing something obvious again, but I can't figure out what.

Yeah, you'd think they could do a better job of beta-testing their releases.
I enjoy the new features, but I wish Mr. Damry would focus on cleaning the
bugs that seem to accumulate as the releases keep growing in size.

I'm sure glad that my years in the I T field have jaded me against
running out and installing stuff the day it is released. I want to thank
all of you brave souls for testing out the updates for me. *GRIN*

2012-07-28 Thread tim
It might of not had it for you, but it did for me. Was told by FS to
upgrade video drivers. When I told them It was new card and up to
date drivers. then got told it was my problem. Now a lot of you here
are having that same problem like I said guess not my video card or
drivers. Some one has proven that these issues are not there in 12
but are in 13. Aren't bugs fun when your told your not having a problem?

No, this must not be a video issue, as the previous build of 13, did

I had those issues way before that update. However, FS blamed it on
my video card. Now that a lot more are having it. Guess it ain't my
video card! hmm!

Just looked and not much changed, and they sort of broke Bard, and I am in
Windows 7 with all its updates and using IE 9. Pressing insert escape
solves the problem but never had to do that before.
Other places everyone thinks this is an XP issue but this computer has never
had XP on it, only Windows 7.

I don't mean to bitch about FS, but why is it that they can't post the list
of changes in the latest release when they post the release itself?

Re: [JAWS-Users] latest Jaws update

2012-07-28 Thread Jo Luland
I've been switching to JAWS12 to use the BARD website since the last update
of JAWS because my PW was not accepted by the site. Before that, I had the
same problem and I contacted FS and with a tandem session it was corrected.
With the latest build JAWS13.0.924 the problem resurfaced. I'm glad to learn
of the current situation, because although I already downloaded the new
version, I think I'll stay with what I've got now and not install the
update.

It is a pain, but I found on the Bard site the right page is there but J13
isn't reading it. Having tried the update insert + escape yet But did
close J13 and open j12 and it read the page correctly.
