Re: [JAWS-Users] Smart art
this must be synchronicity of some sort as a couple of weeks ago I ran into the below upcoming webinar on diagram accessibility using screen reader tech for blind people. It's on Aug 8 and the info is below. I hope this opens up some options for your child. have and your child's school tried out making tactile diagrams on paper with had written labels and bypass the computer altogether? your child's school district as well as the area where you live, I'm sure, has some sort of accessibility and accommodation experts who also have experience in this area and can probably come up with a solution for your child. I'm pretty sure there is an elegant solution for such issues as there are many many blind children who go through the regular school system (not a blind specific school) and further go on to university/college studying math and hard sciences and have figured out ways to create and comprehend diagrams. Ok now below is the upcoming Aug 8 webinar info. EASI will offer a free webinar, The DIAGRAM Center: Making Digital Images Accessible, on Wednesday, 8 August at 18:00 GMT. http://easi.cc/clinic.htm#august Prateek -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Ruchi Patil Sent: Monday, August 06, 2012 5:26 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Smartart Hi all, I am a new member to the group, and am a mother of a 9 year old totally blind bright kid.
