Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS and headphones.

2013-01-29 Thread Boston, Jason (RIS-OKC)
If you go the regular headphone route, I use one at work all day long. Mine are
wireless over the head and cover the ears type of headphones. They run around
$90 and any good electronic store will have them. I get mine at best buy.

I realize this isn't directly related to JAWS, but there are more members on
this list, using a screen reader than almost any other. Plus, many folks on
this list appear to be professionals, so may have some unique input on this
question.

Does anyone use a headset that can both receive input from the computer, and
from the telephone? IE, so you can hear your screen reader and talk on the
phone.

I used a rig like this many years ago, but haven't in a long time. That rig
had the synth in one ear, and the phone in the other ear. Personally, I would
prefer to have the synth and phone in both ears. Especially if I were using
the headset all day for screen reading, and only occasionally using the phone.

Barring that, does anyone have any experience with wireless headsets for use
with the computer output. I am tired of getting tangled up in my headphone
cord. I've been reading about many of them, but it is difficult to know how a
set of headphones will feel after 8 or 9 hours on your head.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think it should, but with the complex interactions of computers now
if the comp does more than detect battery charge it could, new device new
key, a stupid waist of time and key's, but jaws gets away with it.

it's..., *sigh* off the soap box elf!
