[JAWS-Users] Image For Windows
Hi, I got the Image For Windows disk imaging software. I have used it a couple times to make backup images of my hard drive. I have found the software to be easy to use and quite JAWS friendly. I looked at the settings and, although I consider myself to be relatively tech savvy, I don't know what most of those settings are. Are the default settings generally suitable? I do not want to try to restore from a image file and find out the hard way that I should have changed something. [JAWS-Users] Sorting in Excel 2010
Hi, I recently upgraded to Office 2010 from Office 2003. I have found that sorting data in Excel, like many things, works differently in Office 2010. In Excel 2003 and earlier, when sorting data, all of the sort fields are right there together and you can tab and shift tab back and forth between them. In Excel 2010, you set the parameters for one sort level , you add a level, and then set the parameters for that level . When you add a level, JAWS focus moves to the parameters for that level and, as far as I can tell, you can't go back to the previous level to look at the parameters or change them. Is there a easy way to do this? Thanks, Scott Duck For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
[JAWS-Users] excel column width question.
if you write into a column in excel, visually if you put too much data in it the column will go across to the next one. Is there a way to know with jaws that the text is in the next column? -- Adam Morris Phone: +61 2 888 93939 email: a...@damorris.com Skype: adamwilliam Twitter: awmorris msn: a...@damorris.com For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
Re: [JAWS-Users] excel column width question.
Well, the text isn't actually IN the next column, but flows over that column provided there is no data already in that column. If there is already data in the adjacent cell, you can only visually see the data that physically fits in that cell. As an example, by default, a cell can contain about six capital letter O, (not to be confused with the number zero) before the above happens. Hope this helps. As far as the basic non-visual function of the spreadsheet, column width is probably not that important. However, that's another story when you have to display / print your worksheet. Re: [JAWS-Users] excel column width question.
Go to JAWS quick settings with insert+v. Type 'vis' and down arrow. There is one search result: 'cell text' visibility detection. Check it and you're in business. [JAWS-Users] JAWS Refusing To Restart
I am using JAWS 14 and I am finding that if I have to turn JAWS off for my wife to do something on the computer that JAWS will not start back when I try to get it going again. I have checked my hot key several times and it seems to be set. The only way I can get JAWS up and running again is to restart my computer.I have also tried hitting the Icon on the desktop and even tried typing JAWS14 in the edit field of the search box. Nothing works except to restart my computer. Can someone please tell me why this is happening, and what I might be able to do to solve the problem? Re: [JAWS-Users] Audio Pronunciation
Hi Nicole Here are recording programs I used to try 1. GoldWave from www.goldwave.com This can record, open, edit, and save alot of file type. Such as mp3, wave, wma... Also have alot of effect, and accessible for blind users. 2. Studio recorder from www.aph.org This is a very accessible book recording program. You can easy navigate in your recorded file for editing such as cut, copy... After editing, you can save as wave file or export to mp3 file. Note: these two programs are not free. 3. Audacity from audacity.sourceforge.net This is a free multi track recorder that I'm currently research. This might not easy to use (compare to two programs above). This can record, edit most of file tipe such as mp3, aac, wma... There is a guide for using this software with jaws from http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Audacity-2.0.3-Guide.html written by David Bailes. I figured it out, basically you need to go in to the folder windows itself that you wish to delete, actually in the message list window, even if it is empty then press alt+f to go in to the file menu, arrow down to folder then right arrow out and one of the options is delete folder.
