[JAWS-Users] trouble reading html email

2013-04-07 Thread Andrew Head
Hi all,

The problem of jaws loading the wrong outlook scripts has been fixed, but I
am still having problems reading html email. I believe the latest jaws
automatically makes html email read as if you were on a webpage, however,
whenever I read an html email, it is being presented in table format.

Any suggestions on how to fix this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

2013-04-07 Thread Annette Carr
Andrew,

You can fix this for each individual message by opening your message and
using the following key sequence, Alt h a v Enter. Additionally, there is a
way to change an Outlook setting to force all of your messages to be read in
plain text view. I have those directions at work and have not had a chance
to test them out before sharing them. For the record, I am using JAWS 12
and Office 2010 on a Windows 64 bit laptop and a 32bit desktop.

Annette

I am using JAWS 12 and I have my calendar set to day view. While in the day
view section of the screen, I can use the up and down arrows to read the
time slots and the events in them. Also make sure the window is maximized.
When using my work computer, I appear to run into a lot of issues with
reading the calendar. I've made attempts to check over the settings with
help from others more knowledgeable than I and it has not fixed the problem.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2007 isn't showing me all attachments in a message.

2013-04-07 Thread Annette Carr
If an e-mail is formatted in Rich Text format, the attachments are embedded
in the message and you are not able to navigate to the message header to
access the attachment. You need to change the message format to Plain Text
or HTML. Do the following for each message.

. Navigate to Format on the ribbon.

. Press Enter to open the format menu

. Tab until you hear Format Group by pressing the Tab 4 to 7
times.

. Use the up and down arrows to navigate the 3 button choices. Find
Plain Text or HTML and press enter.

. You are put back in the message and now you can access the
attachment in the header.

Note: If you have ever tried to add bullets to a message and you find that
Outlook will not let you, go through this same process and change the
message format to HTML and you can do it. It is my understanding that there
is a setting in Outlook to force all of your message be received in a
particular format. I have the directions at work and have not had a chance
to test them out.

in windows 7 many menus and lists of files were showing up as a virtual
table, with rows and columns, and you had to navigate them with all four
arrow keys to see all that was there, the control panel is one of these and
so are other selection lists in it. I'm wondering if your list of
attachments is doing the same, so the names your not seeing are in column
two or three?

open it again and check to see by arrowing to the right once you get into

Then Press Alt. Down arrow to save attachments sub menu. Right arrow to open

Re: [JAWS-Users] trouble reading html email

2013-04-07 Thread Greg Washington
Andrew,
I have been having ongoing problems getting Jaws even the update issued
today to read HTML formatted emails in Outlook 2007. When I first open
Outlook 2007 Jaws reads the emails properly and the quick navigation keys
such as h for headings and t for tables work fine. However after Outlook
has been open for a while (it varies from 2-5 minutes) Jaws will not read
the emails properly in html format and the quick navigation keys don't work.
For example when I hit the h key instead of going to a heading the letter h
will appear in the body of the email. Also the pc cursor reports pc cursor
rather than virtual pc cursor when I press that key.

I have checked my version of Outlook 2007 and it is up to date with all
patches and have run the diagnostic in Outlook 2007 and everything reports
as fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Jaws 14 several times without
any impact on this problem.

I have had several tech support sessions with John Carson at Freedom
Scientific and they cannot duplicate the problem on Freedom Scientific's
computers. He has asked me to check with other Jaws users to see if they
have experienced these problems and if so what is the configurations of
their computers. If you have had this problem can you tell me how you
solved it or if it is still ongoing can you email me the configurations of
the computer having the problem and I will forward it to John at FS. tech
support.

I am using a Toshiba Satellite laptop model using windows 7 64 bit. Below

Re: [JAWS-Users] reg-MS outlook 2010

2013-04-07 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

You can create a new folder by pressing alt+o to open the folder tab while
you're in a list of messages. If you're using the JAWS virtual Ribbon,
arrow down to the new sub-menu and arrow right to new folder and press
enter. The first entry will be the name you want to give the folder. Press
tab and you'll be on an entry of what the folder contains. It should say
mail and post items. If it says anything else, select mail and post items.
The next press of tab will take you to the folder you want the new folder to
be under. The folder you are currently in will be the default choice. I
would press the left arrow until you get to the top level folder to make the
folder the same level is Inbox and then tab to the ok button and press
enter. To direct mail from someone to be automatically moved to that
folder, you need to have the person's email address in your address book and
then create an Outlook rule. Press alt+f to open the back stage view. Tab
until it says rules And alerts . A say line should say manage rules. Press
enter. You should be on the New Rule button. If not tab to that button.
Press enter. You should be on the choice that says move messages from
someone to a folder.. If it says something else, find that choice. Now
press tab and it will say step 2, edit the rule description. ... people or
distribution list. Press enter to open your address book. Find that
person's entry and then press enter. Then tab to the ok button and press
enter. Now down arrow and it will say move it to the specified folder.
Press enter to open the folder list and then find the folder you created and
press enter. Tab to the ok button and press enter. Now tab to the finish
button and press enter to exit. The new rule will have a name of the
person's name and email address.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Can't copy in Outlook Express.

2013-04-07 Thread Steve

Rich,

Are you certain you are doing control-a and control-c?

Click run, type clipbrd and press enter.
Sometimes, the clipboard seems to get stuck. While you have the viewer
open, go to its Edit menu and click Delete. Close the viewer. Does
cut/copy

-- paste work now?

Also, make sure your anti-virus program doesn't have some kind of spam
blocker turned on. I am aware of instances where Norton Anti-Spam prevented
copying and passting to the clipboard.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

Steve

Mike, no luck.
I still get copy and cut as unavailable.

Hi Rich,

Try rebooting see if that helps. I'm running the same OS with OE not
having any problems.
Take care.

Hi

In Outlook 2010, and possibly 2007, when you open the address book, at the
top above the search box is a line that reads search by. There are two
choices, name only and more columns. Make sure that name only is selected,
since nothing shows up when more columns is selected.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Can't copy in Outlook Express.

2013-04-07 Thread Rich

Hey all,
I was able to copy e mails on my second computer today.
However, when I updated to the latest JAWS version, I was not able to copy e
mails in OE.

Again, what can I do?
It must be a JAWS issue.
