Re: [JAWS-Users] Router Question
I started a file on routers quite some time ago and sadly it has not been added to since almost the beginning. So I put it to the membership again to submit the make and model of your respective routers that you have found accessible to me directly so I may compile them in to a list for posting. This is information I feel we all can benefit from, thanks in advance. Cisco Lynksys E 4200 v1 I specified version 1 because they came out with v 2 a year later which has a faster processor but a little shorter range. I like the v 1 better. It's plenty fast enough, accessible, andincludes the 5 gig band if you happen to have an apple TV. we also live in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment and I can walk outside and up the street before I lose wifi on my iPhone. Hi Nicole Your original question was: What are Jaws-compatable terrabites? So, what exactly are you asking? A terrabyte is a measurement of storage amount equal to roughly 1,000 gigabytes. Are you wanting to know what is compatible to a terrabyte in size? If not, you will need to explain yourself into more depth. I am not trying to be a smart ass but, like other list members, just trying to understand your question. Take care. Hi, I have used external USB hard drives of different makes and models and have never had a compatibility problem. Hi Nicole, Personally I have had very good luck with the Fantom harddrives made by Micronet. They were on sale for $69.99 after a $20.00 rebate from the link below: Fantom G-Force3 2TB USB 3.0 32MB Aluminum Enclosure External Hard Drive http://www.rakuten.com/prod/fantom-g-force3-2tb-usb-3-0-32mb-external-desktop-hard-drive/219577830.html I don't know if they are still available but, this website has sales very often on these external harddrives. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws-compatible Terabites
ah, now you have cleared things up, most of us probably haven't herd of that particular drive so you need to be more clear in your questions, which is what David was trying to tell you I work in the hardware industry and have never herd of that drive. for the main part you would be easier to use windows explorer to move data, or a backup program that you know is accessible. Microsoft sync toy works, Karen's replacator works good for non-operating system data copying, and just copying and pasting the various folders from the computer to the drive works alright as well, if you don't mind doing the work by hand. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws-compatible Terabytes-corrected spelling
you can transfer your data. Many programs will do that, Windows Transfer Wizard did that in migrating from XP to Win 7, I'm not sure about how it works in Windows 8. What that means I think is that if you buy a however many terrabyte external drive, you plug it into a usb port and the computer and your external drive do what is needed for them to talk to each other without you having to do anything like run some program. [JAWS-Users] Windows Live Mail
I have a new Windows 7 machine and would like to import the saved messages from the old hard drive. Can I somehow pull these old messages into the new program so I have everything together? And, where do I set to delete the Deleted message folder on close of Windows Live Mail on the new machine? It used to be something I could set in Options I’m almost positive but for the life of me, I don’t see that in this new ribbon system. Well, all the Terabite thing means is that the My Passport has 2000 gigabites. So the terabite thing doesn't mater when it comes to Jaws. I'm just saying incase no one has explained the terabite thing to you. It just means you'll have 2000 gigabites of memory. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws-compatible Terabites
You're welcome. I just wanted to correct 1 thing. It's 2 thousand gigs if you get a 2 terabite drive like me. The one your uncle is talking about only has 1000 gigabites. There are 3 and 4 TB drives too. Now you meantion flash drives though, that reminds me of one I'd really love to have. It was shown at CES. It's a PCIE one which means you stick it in the back of your pc like a sound card, and it's what's called an SSD or Solid State drive. It literally is like a flash or thumb drive. This one has 12 terabites.tThat means 12 thousand gigabites I think. So, how do you like that? I for one love it and cant weight until it comes out. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Nicole Valicia Thompson-Andrews Sent: Wednesday, May 01, 2013 12:34 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws-compatible Terabites Thanks. Re: [JAWS-Users] Music transfer?
Thanks for the info. It's getting a bit complicated, so I'll read this over a few times. I have something called Marvel software which I have not used yet. I think it is to make it easy to music files. I normally rip to my computer, so I have a copy of the songs I want, and then move the ripped mp3's to my backup server/drives and my player, but I do know that I could set up my ripper, CDEX to rip, convert and place them on another drive (which your player will register as). if your working with an iPod you will need to do the three stage transfer though, most rippers will require this to move from .cda to .m4a. inthane -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Dan McCurley Sent: Saturday, April 27, 2013 10:06 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Music transfer? Hi all, I have 14 and XP pro. This topic is new to me so please be gentle. I want an efficient way to transfer/copy music from my CD's on to an MP3 player. Is there a program to do this quickly/easily? Do you have to burn the music on the hard drive first, or is there some way to copy the info directly from CD to the MP3 player? Thanks for any help. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws-compatible Terabites
Twelve T wow. That's plenty of space. Sounds nice. Someone tried to talk me into getting a three T, and my uncle said I don't need that much space. So the terabite thing doesn't mater when it comes to Jaws. I'm just saying incase no one has explained the terabite thing to you. It just means you'll have 2000 gigabites of memory. The software is the problem, and I guess some of it does work with JAWS from what I've been reading here, I haven't used mine though. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Nicole Valicia Thompson-Andrews Sent: Tuesday, April 30, 2013 9:15 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws-compatible Terabites I saw on Bestbuy that Western digital has My passport.
