Ann Marie, the first thing you need to do is install the drop box program on your computer. So go to the web site: www.dropbox.com and download drop box to your computer. Install it. During the installation, it will ask if you have an account with drop box, and you'll answer yes. They will want you to sign on with your name and pass word, so do that. Now, after he program is fully installed, if you have folders in your drop box, you can download to those folders. HTH. Hi Ann Marie, You can create a folder for this person if you want to do that in your drop box program. Just go into drop box, and hit your application key and go to new, and under new, you'll see folder. So, here you can call that folder what you want, such as, Jim and Ann Marie, and then, you can invite whoever that person is to share the folder you created. Thanks but had enough computer for today. I'll try to work on it and experiment. I thought I could only download from link using dropbox or Google. But I think I could download directly to my download folder using application key, save target as desired file name and then attach in an email message. Last time I had dropbox on my PC it kept coming up with a message about drop box. I cannot remember if it was only on start up or not.But I'll work on it and I'll email you privately if I need some help, most likely. [JAWS-Users] Curiosity about my previous JAWS 15 issue.
Hi guys. At this point today, how many people have had success with J15 on Win 8.1? Now I'm hearing that my issue was some bug in it. To make matters worse, now we can't get rid of it. The SR tek wanted to nuke Jaws from the regrestry. That's how bad it got. But I called them one last time just to report my nephew didn't feel confident going in there and the lady told me that the last thing she saw was that they had been able to duplicate it, and to forget nuking Jaws. It was a bug and it has to be fixed. Odd thing is though, I've seen it work. I used IE11 on an ultrabook some one had at the NFB of CT state convention. IT was Steave from Silver Lining Technologies. I went to google and looked up a new graphic card on it, and then we went to Microsoft, and all was well on his ultrabook. Very odd. [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Office
I am using Jaws 15 on a Windows 7 machine. I need to be able to open .doc files from Microsoft Word. My dilemma is this. My computer came with Office Home and Student 2010 Starter. It worked sort of. Now, Microsoft has disabled the Starter Pack programs and we have to figure out what to do. I used Office 2007 but lost the authorization when my old computer suddenly died. Does anyone know where I can purchase 2003 or 2007 now and will it work with Jaws 15 or does anyone have experience with Office 2010 and 2013? All I really need is Word or some way to open .doc files. What would your recommendation be? Oh yes. If there is a way to move that old 2007 authorization, I was able to retrieve the hard drive in tact so do have that copy. I just don’t know how to gain access to it. Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Office
I can tell you that Office 2010 works well with Jaws, though you'll notice a few changes. You can probably purchase authorization keys from Microsoft for much less than repurchasing the full program suites though. I'm sure others will know where older versions of Office can be purchased, but the newer versions do work well. Good luck. Very odd. Okay, thanks. Keep me posted once you try IE 11. I only ask because the lady told me there was some bug in J15. But like I said, I've seen J15 behave. The one that Eric and every one else seem to be using is Microsoft's surface one. As for what works, any tablit that runs Win 8 pro. Or if any did Win 8. That's like the home version of Win 8.
