Hi Justin,

That's strange. I use PayPal with Ebay all the time, and have not
experienced any trouble. I always click on the line that saysPay for your
purchase with PayPal, just under where it says How do you want to pay for
your purchase. This takes me straight to the PayPal web page where I log in
and the details of my purchase are listed there. I then complete my
purchase. I will be glad to hear some other replies to this string. Good
luck.

[JAWS-Users] List Guidelines Reminder

2013-12-01 Thread Moderator
Hello and welcome to the JAWS Users list. This list has been created for The
purpose of discussing all aspects of the JAWS for Windows screen reader
Program.

So everything that pertains to JAWS is fair game. Such as asking about what
software packages work well with JAWS or how to make them work even better
with
scripts, keyboard short cuts and so forth. Another example could be
requesting information on how to do something in Microsoft Word, which as we
all know
works very well with JAWS, but you need to know how to do a certain task or
want to learn a way to accomplish it more efficiently.

Now this is a very important point in my opinion, asking the list for exact
instructions every time is not a good thing to do for a major reason. It
creates
a dependency situation even if you don't realize it does. The ideal place I
am hoping the list will arrive at some day is that everybody no matter how
new they might happen to be with JAWS or computers will have the confidence
to try things on their own, and yet feel if they get stuck the list will be
there to help put them back on track. Trust me when I say that help is
quicker to arrive for somebody who is well known to ask for it last than
first.
So try it yourself first whatever it is. If you get stuck then let the list
know what you've done to try and resolve your current dilemma. Then I'm sure
help will arrive with in short order. Next a post asking if there is a
software package that does a specific task and works well with JAWS is
perfectly
fine.

The rules of conduct are quite simple and straightforward. Be polite and
Patient with others. There will be absolutely no fighting, and no bashing of
Freedom
Scientific on here at all. If you have a problem with them then I suggest
you take it up with Freedom Scientific directly.

Please try to keep subject lines relevant and descriptive as possible. Also
any newsletters except those that directly pertain to JAWS should not be
posted
to the list prior to receiving moderator approval.

Attachments are removed before any message is sent to the list. This is done
for your protection. The message list might state that there is an
attachment
but in fact Mailman does remove them.

When contacting any of the list moderators privately please be descriptive
in the subject line as to the purpose of the message. Many of us simply
delete
messages from people we don't know. At the present time there are over 650
subscribers to this list, so we can't possibly know everybody on here.

Also, if you have a question for the list that falls within the guidelines,
then post it accordingly. Don't contact the management team with questions
that
are more appropriate for the list itself. Your question may or may not
receive an answer for a number of reasons.

Everybody should familiarize themselves with the content contained in the
footer message that accompanies every message posted to the list.

Occasionally there might be some difficulty with your email address and you
may receive an email from the Mailman program asking you to reactivate your
account. Please do not simply delete this message. Instead open it and
follow the directions to reactivate your account. If you do not after
receiving
a number of such messages then the Mailman program will remove your email
address automatically.

The discussion of anything illegal is absolutely forbidden, along with
flirting or other such inappropriate activities. This is not a high tech
swap shop
or anything of that nature at all. This means that goods and or services
will not be bought or sold using this forum. If you know a given subject is
off
topic then don't post it. Simply placing off topic in the subject line does
not make it all right. Cross-posting is not permitted, and members should
only
post in the following manner:

Using the TO: field with only one list address. The SUBJECT: field should be
short and to the point without including any member names.

The reason for this is that in cases where people setup their message rules
to go by the to: field often times such rules get fouled up and in effect do
not work properly. Also cross posting might allow you to reach many lists at
the same time but the fact is such a post might not be on topic for each and
every list. This practice does nothing but clutter up such lists with
unwanted off topic messages along with annoying the list moderators. Lastly
please no jokes, virus warnings, recipes, safety tips, or pleas to help
dying kids, should ever be forwarded to the list.

Forwarded messages and attachments are not permitted. If you have an article
or message of interest which relates to the

Nature of this list send it to the list owner and if it is appropriate, it
will be posted to the list. Additionally if you

want to make an announcement about another list send it to the list owner
for consideration. Do not post it to the list before obtaining approval.

Hi Adrian,

Internet Explorer can be set up to receive your RSS feeds, I believe it is
under the tools menu. These feeds will then be In the favorites center in a
folder called Your Feeds. Otherwise, you can download and install a third
party feed agregator like: Juice or Feed Demon. There are also many others
out there, but I find these two easy to use and accessible with JAWS.

Strange, I use Jaws 15 and just completed a checkout on Paypal through eBay
late Friday November 29.

The paypal interface hasn't changed. One thing I did note is when you go to
checkout from eBay, there is a link to their accessible checkout page, but
once I transitioned to Paypal, the layout was like it has always been.

Just speculating here, but you may have been bitten by the Jaws bug where it
sometimes will not focus on the page on the screen. Sometimes, if I go to
the address bar, it will not focus back on the screen even if I press
control-f6. One of two workarounds: First, if you can find something
relevant to the page using the jaws review cursor, you can then move the Pc
cursor to the Jaws cursor with Jaws-key numpad plus. Second workaround is
to unload and reload Jaws. I don't experience this issue with either Window
Eyes or System Access when i try to go back ffom the address bar.

Hi,
While I haven't experienced this at Pay Pal I have seen this behavior at the
site of my financial institution. I didn't catch which version of Jfw and
which browser the original poster was using and for that I beg your pardon.
In my instance it was Jfw 15 with Internet Explorer 11. The work around was
to navigate to the tools menu add the current page to the compatibility
viewer and things righted themselves. It's just something to try which can
be undone if making no difference easily enough.

There are more contacts in my WLM account than the Outlook.
First, Howdo I copy or export the contacts from WLM in to Outlook 2010?
If I should break up the e mail request with different subject lines, please

My mind started flying with questions as I was writing.

Second, I have Outlook as default e mail, but whenever I open WLM, I receive
all messages from the past, even ones that have been deleted in Outlook.
Is there a way to avoid this so I don’t have to keep deleting both e mail
clients?
Third, any recommendations on the use of Outlook 2010, , since I am so used to
Outlook Express?
Fourth, there seems to be 2 folders in the Outlook for In-box. The first has
the past 2 days and collapsed by date, i.e. “today” and “Yesterday”. Is there a
way to have only 1 “In-box” to manage?
Fifth, In Outlook 2010, can messages be grouped by conversation and
collapsed/expanded?

Many thanks for the help!

I am struggling w/contacts in W7 JFW 15 and outlook 2010, I have tried all
the ways suggested for finding contacts but no results appear.
I am trying to do some editing as I have some messed up emails that come up
as outlook offers suggestions as I type in the name I am emailing.
There are numerous folders that appear to search, contacts, icloud,
contacts mobile, icloud mobile and numerous suggested contact folders... but
cannot seem to get names to show with a search or advanced search.. any
suggestions? I want to get all devices having correct info.

Try using the ctrl+shift+b which open the address book. I find this list a
lot easier to navigate around.

This seems like a simple question.
I have a new Win 7 machine and 15.0 and Outlook 2010.
I can’t seem to open a contact to send an e mail.
I hit control3, then, if I am lucky enough to find the desired contact I’ll
hit enter, left click, tab, etc. But I never hear “Subject” line and the
usual prompts to send a message.
I’ve hit the alt V and tabbed around looking for better settings but could
not find anything.

Any help is appreciated.

Rich

Hi,
Try this:

PressWindows +R, and type outlook / cleanviews and press enter.
Down arrow to the reading paine and press enter.
Press insert + V and press enter.
Down arrow to auto correct and check it.

I think that's your problem, HTH.
