Re: [JAWS-Users] [EXTERNAL] Re: Amazon (UNCLASSIFIED)
Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: NONE I've been finding more and more instances where buttons don't work correctly. Sometimes, if you have a display, you can use a routing button to replicate pressing a button, sometimes you can route and reroute the JAWS cursor, and sometimes, you can use either the left or right click keys. It's very frustrating when after entering a bunch of information you get to the submit button and can't press it. Hopefully the folks at FS will take a look at this and fix it in a future update. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Mike Boyd Sent: Thursday, October 09, 2014 1:31 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] [EXTERNAL] Re: Amazon Just last night I pressed enter on the Proceed to Checkout button on the regular Amazon site, and got nothingg. So, I went back to the Home page, clicked on the link for the optimized for Screen Readers site button. I then scrolled down to the Checkout button, pressed enter on it, and was paid for and out of there in about 3 minutes. A few days ago, I was wanting to make a return. When it was time for me to select the Reason for Return, the website would not allow me to preforn this function. I then called Amazon, told them what the problem was. They processed my return right there over the phone, emailed me the link to print out the return shipping label and RMA. She then processed my return for me right over the phone with no return shipping costs. A minute or two later, I had the shipping label and RMA printed out and my verification for the return in hand. Amazon's site has some issues right now, but there are ways around it. I have experienced situations where JAWS does not seem to act on certain controls like buttons. In those situations I have had to revert to another screen reader to finish the transaction. On the regular site, Amazon has been fooling around with the layout of the site, and it has ben causing a lot of problems. You could probably check out easier through the Optimized site, but the shopping experience leaves a lot to be desired. The company that publishes the software to make SharePoint 508 compliant will be presenting their solution at the World Usability Day / New England event on 11/13 in Keene, NH. If you are in the area, maybe you can attend and check it out. http://www.wudnewengland.org John - Original Message - From: Boston, Jason (RIS-OKC) jason.bos...@lexisnexis.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2014 4:13 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] SharePoint 2010 JFW Hello all, We use share point 2010 at work and I find it less accessible then earlier versions. Does anyone have suggestions to make it more accessible? Settings for share point? Settings for JFW? I use the latest version of JFW 15 professional. Re: [JAWS-Users] amazon again
Strange. I don't doubt that others are having issues, but I'm not. I wonder if it is browser version or add-on related?d I just used Amazon with Jaws 16 beta, and I also duplicated a satisfactory experience with Jaws 15. I'm using Win 7 64-bit with IE 11. The Add-To Shopping Cart button is right below the quantity combobox. After that, there is a checkout button that is found with the search-for-button B command as usual. I don't use the accessible Amazon site; I just use the regular Amazon site. In the last couple of weeks, the proceed to checkout button has become unusable. Very annoying but, it's apparently not just a win 8.1 problem. If I remember right, though, you can put things into the shopping cart from the access site but when you're ready to check out, it takes you to the main site. Hopefully, they'll get this fixed. karen For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Re: [JAWS-Users] amazon again
First, I am on W8.1, I need to charge up my old W7 to try. I have no problem finding the add to cart nor adding to cart, where the problem lies is and I find the buttons fine, proceed to check out, and one click check out.. Jwas reads perfectly fine, but will not activate item. Insert f7 does not shoe as a link, cause these are buttons and B does not work, turning Jaws off with cursor on item does not work, jaws or pc cursor does not work, enter, space bar, left mouse etc. Tamera -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Steve Sent: Friday, October 10, 2014 10:55 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] amazon again Strange.
