Hello.
There is a spell checker for OE 2.1 which works very well.
Sorry, do not know where I got it from, but a google search will probably
find it.

I, however, managed to sync music to my phone using instructions from
another lister, I think he's on here, if not, it was from the blind tech
list; however, the issue I had was I wanted to sync a few songs, and not the
entire library. Now I have 900 songs on my phone lol.
If someone can provide steps using jaws how to sync a few songs at a time
and not the entire library, that would be nice.
Thank you.

try customizing the details to include length rather than duration.

Hello
I have a problem with JAWS in Windows 7. I don't really know if there is
something wrong with JAWS or Windows. In Windows Explorer, when I switch to
Details View, I expect to see the duration of MP3 files in front of them. I
have already customized the details so the duration will be shown among the
details, but JAWS does not read the duration of MP3 files in front of them.
If I right-click the file and go to details tabl, JAWS reads the duration
very well, but JAWS does not read the duration in details view. I don't know
if Windows shows the duration or not, but I know JAWS does not read it at
all. This was not the case in Win XP. In Windows XP, JAWS read the duration
very well. What do you think the reason is?

Are you sure the correct link is highlighted? I have found with the last
couple of versions of jaws often the link being read by jaws is not where the

choose the move to link option. Only then can I be sure that I have the

Your explanation makes sense. However, the inconsistency happens when I have a
link highlighted. For example if I do a search on Google and then I highlight
one of the links in the search result I get the second information quite often
instead of the first infomation I indicated. I actually just tried it again to
be certain I wasn't mistaken and got the second unwanted information.

The applications key is always context-driven, in all programs; there

gotten a report on the rsults of the scan, telling if there were any

[JAWS-Users] Post-Restore Blues

2015-03-11 Thread Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)
Hope you'll humor me on this one, as it has a tenuous JAWS connection. I
mentioned earlier that I was finished with AVG, and about my phantom problem
that came in the wake of my otherwise-successful system restore. Okay, does
anybody know where I can get the installation file for 2014 AVG free. I want to
reinstall it, then cleanly uninstall again. It's time to move on, and close
this chapter. Happy to report that, since the rollback, JAWS is reactivated
and working fine. It was quick, safe, and I'd do it again.

Re: [JAWS-Users] scan for system errors

2015-03-11 Thread Mike Boyd

Ted, The System File Checker has been around in one form or another since
Windows 98. Generally referred to as sfc /scannow, or sfc.exe, the following
Microsoft article explains how to use the utility in Windows versions Vista
and later:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833/

If you are running XP or earlier, then you can do a web search for the
instructions on how to perform this action in your particular version of
Windows.

When you started the scan, did you get any sort of report that it was
running? It should have said Beginning system scan, then entered the
verification phase, counting off the progress as it went along. At the end,
you should have gotten a report on the rsults of the scan, telling if there
were any corruptions found and if they were repaired or not.

Tom, did you get anything on screen at all? If you did, you're one up on
me.

I ran the error scan: sfc /scannow . I did not get a status report at the
completion of the scan however. Might it have created a log somewhere? Tom
