Re: [JAWS-Users] [Bulk] Re: adjust jaws voice speed

2016-04-15 Thread Adrian Spratt
Yes, this is correct. I just checked with the JAWS key identifier in JAWS 17.
So, since there have been conflicting posts on this subject, here's a summary:

In JAWS 17:

To change voice rate permanently, control-Windows key-alt + pageup or pagedown.

To change voice rate temporarily while JAWS isn't speaking, control-alt +
pageup or pagedown

To change voice rate temporarily while JAWS is in "say all," adjust speed with
pageup or pagedown alone.

   Hello,
As far as accessibility goes it is better than Dropbox on Windows. The only
issue I have with iCloud is that I cant use it on my Nexus or Fire tablet.
However if you use iOS and Windows it works quite well. I have been thinking
of moving over to it since I do mainly use Windows for computing and iOS for
mobile. I also like that you can purchase less than 1tb unlike in Dropbox
where 1tb or the free is your only options.

The trouble with that solution (turning virtual cursor on for all
applications), is when I am switching apps on the fly like from gmail
in IE11 to Word and back again I don't necessarily want the virtual
cursor on in every situation. I guess my biggest complaint is that it
used to just work and still does in version 16.

Re: [JAWS-Users] adjust jaws voice speed

2016-04-15 Thread Adrian Spratt
Several things.

First, the six-pack is the set of six keys to the right of the main keyboard
keys that contains the delete, insert, pageup, etc. keys.

Second, looking over the different posts here, I checked what JAWS key
identifier (insert-1 above the letters) says. Control-alt-pageup and pagedown
seem to function while JAWS isn't speaking. Pageup and pagedown alone affect
speed while JAWS is in "say all." This second keystroke enables you to listen
to the changes as you press the key.

[JAWS-Users] Windows Live Mail question

2016-04-15 Thread Greg Wocher

Hello all,
In WLM2012 is there a way for JAWS to tell if a group of messages is
collapsed or expanded? Also is there a keystroke to expand and collapse
groups like there is in Thunderbird? I am using JAWS17 on a Windows10
laptop.

Re: [JAWS-Users] FS response to the virtual cursor issue

2016-04-15 Thread Mario
Kimber, did you press the combination 3 times rapidly, like holding the
JAWSKey and pressing zzz, as opposed to z. z. z. the idea that too much
of a pause between zs allows enough time for JAWS to react and not allow
you to do what you need to do?

Exactly. And the issue is that no matter how many times I press jaws
key + Z, the virtual cursor always turns itself off again as soon as I
switch to another window. Also, this doesn't happen in version 16.

I hoped for a more indepth answer from FS. Shame on me. Hahaha.

"Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific technical Support.

I just had to share that one.

Btw I still have the problem, just in case there was any doubt. I am

Hello,
As far as accessibility goes it is better than Dropbox on Windows. The
only issue I have with iCloud is that I cant use it on my Nexus or Fire
tablet. However if you use iOS and Windows it works quite well. I have
been thinking of moving over to it since I do mainly use Windows for
computing and iOS for mobile. I also like that you can purchase less
than 1tb unlike in Dropbox where 1tb or the free is your only options.

I know that you can turn the virtual cursor off globally or by application
with the insert+z or insert+z a few times. Perhaps this is what the tech
person is trying to get at. Whether this has anything to do with the actual
problem...
Can't say I've experienced this random turning off of the virtual cursor
with my JFW 17 on either of my machines though.

After doing a direct compare of the version from earlier this morning to
what I received this afternoon I must conclude at this point I favor the
first option.

They both work but I'm not certain the second version is working the way
it

is expected, probably more testing is needed.

Never the less the earlier version is the offering on the server right now

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Please change the subject line. Re: does anybody know
this person

I could not figure out what to list as a subject for this thread. If the
emails continue, please provide a more descriptive subject line. We don't
want to miss good information, but this thread would require reading way
down just to figure out what is being discussed. Thank you.

The closest thing to being fired will be demoting you to desk duty, or kp
duty...

Hi Senñor Ferrin,

I called him & told him his problem is with his email client settings or
with his ISP, & also that you've tried contacting him by email & the emails
come back as undeliverable.
Take care.

This guy is not receiving any messages from the list and he is quite annoyed
about that fact to put it nicely. The problem is that his email account is
not working and as such any email sent to him bounces back undeliverable.

My question is simply does anybody know this guy and have the capability to
contact him to let him know what is going on with his account? Email isn't
working, that much is sure. I could manually subscribe him but since his
email isn't working the server will just kick him off after a couple of days
anyway.

Hi, I am still receiving no mail from the list. I did what Bob suggested. I
unsubscribed last night, and subscribed again this morning. I didn't get a
confirm email like you should get when trying to join a group. This kind of
stuff shouldn't happen. Either you solve the problem,

[JAWS-Users] FS response to the virtual cursor issue

2016-04-15 Thread Kimber Gardner
Hi All,

I am pasting below FS response to the problem of the virtual cursor
turning itself off randomly.

"Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific technical Support.

While on the internet, hold down the insert key and press the letter z
three times rapidly and see if this resolve your issue."

Hahahahahahahahaha.

I just had to share that one.

Btw I still have the problem, just in case there was any doubt. I am
seriously considering returning to version 16 since 17 has given me
one pile of grief after another.
