Adam,

Yes, that is essentially correct. The JAWS version must be the same for this
to work, and it's actually best used on a Friday evening when you cannot
contact FS for a weekend. Otherwise, calling them or adding keys via the web
site is easier.

I've heard that if you copy

activator
and
authorization
directories that if you remove jaws completely and after installing
jaws put those directories back then your key will still be intact.

Yes, this is correct. I just checked with the JAWS key identifier in JAWS
17. So, since there have been conflicting posts on this subject, here's a
summary:

In JAWS 17:

To change voice rate permanently, control-Windows key-alt + pageup or
pagedown.

To change voice rate temporarily while JAWS isn't speaking, control-alt +
pageup or pagedown

To change voice rate temporarily while JAWS is in "say all," adjust speed
with pageup or pagedown alone.

Is there a tutorial for using Facebook with JAWS 14 and later?

Thanks.

Hi Vicki,

From: David Moore
You do not have to download a program to use Face Book. Just type the URL:
www.facebook.com
and create your account. After that, use the Mobile Face Book site on your
computer, because it is much easier to work with. There is much less
material on the screen and no advertising. This URL is:
m.facebook.com
When you get on that site, you will have to log in with your user name and
password that you created when you created your account. After that, you
will have links at the top like Home, Messages, Profile, notifications, and
as you arrow down, there will be a edit box to put in your status (what you
want to tell everyone) and just press enter on the post button. At the very
top of the page, there is a search edit field to enter a name or other info
so you can find someone on Face Book and ask them to be your friend. Once
they accept your friend request, you will then be friends and you can look
at each other's posts and much more on your pages. I hope that gets you
started. For great tutorials on using Face Book with JAWS, go to the main
page of Freedomscientific's web site , and enter on training. On the
training page, there are archives of free webinars that have been done in
the past. There are at least three good webinars on using Face Book with
JAWS that you can download and listen to and learn all about using Face Book
and how accessible it is once you learn how to navigate it and learn some
key commands that you can use just on Face Book. Have a great one.
David
Take care.
